Ant armor is quite inconvenient in that it needs to be tailor-made for the individual, and as soon as evolution occurs can no longer be used - recycling it to another ant is possible (will require heavy logistics), but is also made difficult by the fact that ants vary a lot in sizes (humans, especially soldiers, are much more similar in builds than these monster ants are)

Ah, that was a good side story. I gotta say I like the resulting ant far better than Protectant, but that's probably my hefty dislike for anything sneaky and evasive when questioned.
