Oh no, I have a feeling the mom is gonna be brought away into some powerful clan or somthing... seems to be some forshadowing to it, but With the talk of the lightning brought by his grandfather -her inner dialogue at that time- and now the teary eyed sad make out sesh after he absorbed it. It will be sad to see, but his life and foundation is to happy right now for him to fully utilise the death book. Hopefully its not to bad of a departure. I could be totally wrong but it seems like things are leading in that direction.

Now that our mc is an uber cultivator he can start running around killing stuff on his own. A 5 yr old mass cultivator with 0 fighting abilities
