So he wants to make the boy/devil in him rest so that he can finally be free. But of course there's the Quest planned by the Gods for him.
A lot of novels have this solving the Originals issues, but in turn get stuck in BS that they would never want to be apart of, like arranged marriages and grudges that ruin the whole NEW LIFE for them.
