Pretty sure it's actually not a loophole at all. It gives noteworthy pioneers incentive to fight alien warfleets, and eases the burden on humanity's raw materials/resources.
Shame that they dont have the ship they capture from the Red Cabal. But Is posible that the larkinson clan could make a hybrid ship from parts of different races?
