Name - Ringmaster Dragon Mech Design Spirit - Bravo/Lufa Offense 1 Defense 4 Mobility 2 Utility 3 All the pioneers to the Red Ocean come from a place where mech games are a prominent part of everyday life. Yet the reality of building ALL your infrastructure from scratch means that mech arenas simply cannot be a top priority. Now - there is always the galactic net to watch. But giving up the cultural and commercial opportunities of a local mech arena is hard. The problem of keeping the surrounding area safe is easy enough. Simply head out to some undeveloped bit of your territory that you don't mind a mech fight on! But how to keep the audience safe? Or the pilots? That is where Ves's RingMaster mech comes in to play! Part hypemaster, part referee, and 100% dedication to keeping the audience sitting in its coils perfectly safe! This stunning display of Ves's artistic talent is also equipped with Lufa's calming ability in case of poor sportsmanship. This dragon mech is FAR more expensive then the arena mechs it typically watches over. Still a mere fraction of the cost of a typica mech arena with all the embedded safety systems.

ANNOUNCEMENT: SECOND MECH DESIGN SUBMISSION CONTEST! The Mech Touch is 4000 chapters old, and that means another contest! This time is another Mech Design Submission Contest, and the rules are similar to last time. Mech Design Rules Suggest any ORIGINAL second-class mech (no ripoffs from other books or shows!) that can be designed by the mech designers of the Larkinson Clan! You may submit a commercial mech, a commissioned mech or a Larkinson-exclusive mech. Make sure you mention the mech type and the design spirit as well. Look at the example I provided. Point System Just like previous contests, you must quantify the performance of your mech design by allocating 10 points in the following categories: Offense (?/10) Defense (?/10) Mobility (?/10) Utility (?/10) Your mech design description must match your point allocation. If not, your submission will be disqualified. The minimum point for a category is 0. 2 to 3 points is average. 4 is good. 5 is excellent. 6 is extreme. Submission Details This contest will run for 15 days from 18:00 CET, August 8, 2022 to 18:00 CET August 23, 2022. You can post 3 original mech design submissions at most. One at most can only be posted in the following places: -The comments of Chapter 3960 on Webnovel.com -The comments of Chapter 4002 on Webnovel.com -The #events-submission channel on The Mech Touch's Unofficial Discord server I will determine the winners on the Discord server at 21:00 CET August 23, 2022. I will select up to 5 winning submissions through selection and 1 submission by random lottery. Rules -Scores: Mech designs will be evaluated by me through numerical scores. If you are not satisfied with my scores, you can delete your original submissions and post a new or revised version if you want to gain a higher score. You can do this as many times as you want until the deadline. I will evaluate your submission with the following scoring criteria: Power: 1 to 10 Usefulness: 1 to 10 Personality: 0 to 50 Affordability: 1 to 10 Excess: 0 to -100 Mech submissions with the highest total score will have higher chances of winning this contest. -Technology: Do not add too much confusing or overpowering tech. If I cannot understand your descriptions, then I will disqualify your mech. Focus on the mech concept and value proposition rather than excessive technical data. -Length: Try and be concise while adding enough detail. If your submission is too short, it will be disqualified due to low effort. 500 words is sufficient. -PLAGIARISM: DO NOT PLAGIARIZE OTHER ANIMES, BOOKS, TV SHOWS OR MOVIES! ALSO DO NOT RIP OFF OTHER IMAGES FROM THE INTERNET! IF YOU CANNOT COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL, DON'T BOTHER PARTICIPATING! Short Example of Mech Design Submission Name: Roarmaster Type: Landbound medium hybrid mech Design spirit: Zeigra Offense: 4 Defense: 2 Mobility: 3 Utility: 1 Description: The Roarmaster is a mech centered around weaponizing sound waves. Zeigra adds more aggression and ferocity to the mech, making it eager to release loud roars to prove its strength. It is equipped with large sound projectors that can transmit strong and loud directional sound waves that excel at bypassing armor and damaging mechs from the inside. The Roarmaster is also armed with a sword and shield to make it adequate in melee combat. It is relatively fast but cannot withstand too many attacks. Its sound projectors can also be used to transmit sound signals and disable human mobs.

Name: Second Eye Type: Spotter and sniper mech Design Spirit: Vulcan Offense: 5 Defence: 1 Mobility: 2 Utility: 2 ------------------ Description: At first glance the Second Eye appears to be a relatively standard sniper mech. It includes a decently powerful rifle, thin defences, and enough mobility to move between vantage points or retreat. The sensor suite on this mech is notably above standard, but still not too unusual for this mech type as it remains strongly targeted and directional for spotting its targets. The truly distinctive factor for this mech is the inclusion of Vulcan as its Design Spirit. Traditionally military snipers often have spotters that work alongside them to help them mark targets and adjust their aim. While this isn’t quite as necessary for mechs with all their advanced systems, Ves himself actually has experience in a similar adjacent role. In the Bright-Vesian War Ves helped to mark weak spots on enemy mechs while attached to the Vandals. Here in the Second Eye Vulcan serves a similar role, using his technical expertise and the superb sensors of the mech to direct the pilot towards weak points on enemy mechs. Who better to know how to take apart a mech than someone that knows how to build one? Unlike similar Ylvainian mechs that assist in targeting Vulcan simply makes deductions based on sensor data, much less draining than predicting the future, and actually making the shot is on the pilot’s own ability. A good communication suite is also included to share any weaknesses found with allies as one mech cannot shoot down every enemy it sees. Of course, for all that the Second Eye is a useful mech, Ves had an ulterior true goal when including Vulcan in its design. Right now Vulcan is still young and needs to more quickly amass insights on various fields, especially mechs. By placing Vulcan in a mass produced mech involved in many battlefields he will get to witness many different types of mechs as well as how they perform in the field. Having a good sensor suite allows Vulcan even more insight into the mechs encountered. Furthermore, for engineers, learning how to put things together also involves learning how to pick them apart and vice-versa. Allowing Vulcan to get a little hands on with this will aid his learning. As the Second Eye proliferates across the galaxy Vulcan will quickly expand the breadth of his understanding of mechs, and the many possibilities they have. This will greatly expand his ability to inspire new ideas.

Name: Ganesha Type: Heavy Support Design Spirit: Minerva + Everchanger Offense: 1 Defense: 3 Mobility: 1 Utility: 5 Description: Styled after an ancient Deity, the Ganesha has a very unusual body shape, resembling an elephant standing up on two legs. Additionally, the shape of its body is humanoid with four arms, yet has the head of an elephant, complete with a trunk, along with the matching tree-like legs and feet. Around its waist are numerous wide cables, with at least one of them usually held in one of its hands. Ganesha, the Deity, carries an axe and a lasso. The axe is for frightening demons, while the lasso is meant to capture difficulties and also stands for synthesis or reintegration. Ganesha, the Mech, also carries an axe to deter melee mechs and also uses its many wide cables for synthesis. These wide cables are used to connect the Ganesha with other allied mechs. These large cables are actually just sheaths for many types of hoses and wires concealed within them. The Ganesha can siphon heat away from allied mechs while also supplying them with more power. As a heavy mech with a wide gut, all of that space is used to house an immense reactor and numerous heatsinks. Even its large elephant ears are just shields for the radiators mounted on the back of them. Its wide feet also provide a large surface area for the Ganesha to dump heat into the surface of a ship it’s standing on. The inspiration behind the Ganesha comes from the Paracelsius Olympus and its power transferring technology. The rules of the big two prevent them from directly connecting their Mechs up to their ships, so the Ganesha is the substitute. It’s built with economy in mind, using cheap yet heavy armor and caring little for mobility or offense. It’s optimized to boost the firepower of energy weapon wielding Mechs by letting them fire more often. Given the limited slots on ships, why field one more Rifleman Mech when you can instead double the volume of fire for four others? Of course, this comes at a cost, as the cables have a limited reach and can be sliced through by a melee mech. Yet, for those mechs that are always deploying defensively and using a ship as cover, this limited mobility and vulnerability to Melee Mechs is negligible. The commercial variant of the Ganesha only employs Minerva as a Design Spirit, and the glow serves to increase the cooperation ability of the Allied Mechs it is connected to. The pilots will feel more in tune with the actions of their teammates, choosing their targets for focusing fire without any communication, or tightening their formation when taking evasive action. The Larkinson variant also includes the Everchanger, using its ability to handle any glow. Not only can the Ganesha transfer power and heat with its connected mechs, it allows them to channel their glow. The glow from three of the connected mechs could be transferred over to the fourth, giving it a far more potent spiritual impact. Additionally, if the actual Minerva takes command of a Ganesha, it can also influence the Mechs it is connected to with far less effort, using the Ganesha like a spiritual conduit.

eweeey! Did Ves invariably gain a sister of 20 years old and she's a girl reinforced with Hexer notions. That's a recipe for disaster I must say and this is a frickin cliff. I'm both happy and sad. We have a good thing going on but until tomorrow shall it be finished🤧

Joy Ride Budget Tournament Mech Design Spirit - Vulcan Offense 3 Defense 3 Mobility 3 Utility 1 What happens when a tournament buys up a giant inventory of liquidated budget mech parts? (Which no one is buying because the parts are for last-last gen models localized by Journeyman and Seniors... who don't have Red Ocean PP!) Well, normally you get a barely functional Frankenstein mech held together by the contestant's own design seed. Unless... the person in question is Ves! This is a tournament style popular for Novice/Apprentice levels. Not normally for talented Journeyman and/or Seniors! But the challenge of using "dead" parts is a good showcase of global design seed types. Perhaps this is a showcase of an assembly/repair tool system? Anyway - Ves is capable of doing what no one else can. "Waking up" as many dead parts as he wants! And not just the normal limit of 5 different dp... but as many different systems as there are parts in his mech. Armor, engines, sensors, muscles - even minor parts like fuel lines and connectors! All of it Frankensteined together with a bit of Ves's "metal" spiritual power. And all of them working in harmony the way only a Rational mech designer can usually make happen. This design is far too outdated for real world applications. But even the earliest mech models still see use in VR. Licensing fees are a nightmare to untangle, but not impossible. Expecially when all the Masters/Seniors/Journeyman in question want to get their name attached to this record-breaking collaboration. And when the novelty of piloting a LIVING mech (even in VR) sells so very many advertisements... every company even vaguely associated with this mech snap up a virtual license. This mech will make Ves famous! PS - Exlor, I know you've seen this mech in several previous contests. Hopefully this iteration scores better then the rest.

Name: Pirates Bane Type: Space born medium swordsman mech Design Spirit: Venerable Foster Offense: 5 Defense: 1 Mobility: 4 Utility: 0 In the lawless chaotic environment of the Red Ocean, many failed pioneer groups turn to piracy. To deal with this problem Ves decided to make a mech with one purpose, hunting down and butchering pirates. It’s a premium mech with a high skill requirement, and has an extremely aggressive nature relying on its mobility rather than defense to avoid damage. It has enough speed to chase down fleeing pirates to prevent escape. It uses two swords to maintain an unrelenting onslaught on opponents giving them no time to counter attack. The bloodthirsty glow is especially effective at instilling fear in pirates causing them to be more defensive and make more mistakes. Ketis instills this mech with the purest form of her design philosophy, sharpness. And because the design spirit contains a willpower component Ketis can use it to power a sword technique in critical moments when the pilot and mech are most aligned, similar to what Ketis herself did in the Wild Brawl Bowl tournament.
