The fact the Dillegent Ovenbird was designed to be able to replicate itself means the Larkinsons might be able to DIRECTLY supply many of those "missing components". Expecially because the big, bulky stuff is what they managed to keep. Add in the fabrication ships LMC and Cross own... and all they need is the raw materials!
So everybody here knows by now that Ves refuses to be anybody’s dog in the Red Sea. If y’all remember, there was a third party aside from the Rubarthians and the Terrans(?somebody correct me please?) that was something closer to the trade consortium Ves is putting together now. I believe this trade consortium Ves is putting together is either what’s going to make them so valuable in the eyes of the third party, OR Ves has somehow stumbled onto the start of making himself and the founding members of his consortium the 4th major power in the Red Sea.
Hmm... would Vulcan totems help a shipyard? It's a MUCH larger area to cover with glows after all. Although being strategic with the stationary glows + liberal use of the portable units might be useful. The real sticking point is pricing after all. Ves has to give them some kind of "bulk discount" due to the massive total volume needed. Perhaps make a really tiny totem with a directional glow designed to mount on a space suit helmet and effect ONLY the single user? Right now even his "small size" will cover the workstations of several hand craftsman. That would justify his pricing scheme for the other sizes. Heck, package the really tiny ones as "rechargeable units" with a "main charger" unit and he could sell to MANY different companies with a distributed construction force.
