It's ok to have all your eggs in one basket, as long as you control what happens to that basket. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for the Larkinson Clan. Hedging their bets means more options for the future.

Well Ves may need the transhumanist assistans some day with his jutland organ.

I really hope Ves tells Gloriana about the metal scroll once they reach the new galaxy. It could backfire, but it will at least give Gloriana a better idea of Ves' potential.

Here's hoping the Supremacists don't push Gloriana to spill Ves' secrets, or try to steal Lucky's gems or something......
