Well, I think Ves's life experience is far too harsh for other to empathize with. He has been kidnapped, sacrificed, assassinated, and of course being chased by the most powerful in the multiverse. But I also think that is when Ves shine the most, being in the do or die danger. That is why he will not relinquish this stance. But he also need to realize that not everyone is suited to be in his life mode.
do it! do it! wake up that naive world of civil society and expose the true evil it is an illusion of safety. Evil is more subtle and social shaming thru the ever changing of norms what was ok one day becomes bad another day. What is always constant is strength of knowledge and might which gives one's own power all else is borrowed power and that is society power.
Here is an idea. We live in a society, but as evil as everyone like to think I could be. I choose not to act on it, because it is currently in my interest to do so. Rather than thinking everything as black and white or predator and prey. Perhaps seeing yourself as an avatar in control of your own life, in your quest to be the best version you can be, is a much better and healthier way to live and prosper. I, myself find the idea of looking cute while being almost impossible to be killed, an appealing idea and a worthy ideal to pursue after.
