The more I see Ves's plans for this "marriage"... the less I think he is serious about it. Looks more and more like he only views this coming exchange of vows as another form of business contract! He vows not to sleep with other women and regularly do things to "keep Gloriana happy". He is planning on giving her a spending allowance and part shares in his business interests. In exchange he expects... what exactly? Looks like Ves is merely expecting Gloriana's end of the bargain to include semi-regular *** and business collaborations. (With a side of attempting to wheedle political benefits out of him on occasion) That isn't a husband/wife relationship... that is a contract for a Mistress! (As in the long-term contract upgrade from Courtesan)

An intimidation check against Ves right from the get-go? Well... we are about to see just how good Ves is at verbal judo.
