I get why he's being so stubborn, but doesn't he realize there's no other option? He can't expect people who've spent their whole lives in 3rd-class states to be adept at working with advanced biotech usually reserved for affluent 2nd-class citizens....Of course that stuff would require the expertise of trained 2nd-class personnel. Between his sector only having two such states to start with and the fact one of them is hostile to him, Ves is shit out of luck!!

Hm... with all the gene mods Ves has... can he even father a child without medical intervention? Of course - the doctor has ALL the samples she could ever need. Gloriana has the ability to just inform Ves she is pregnant one day. Whether or not they ever have that conversation about parenting styles first. Er... they probably won't HAVE that talk until there is a very real baby to talk about.
