Another chapter of Ves being a heartless ASSHOLE!? Our is this Ves’s version of helping his best friend. Carlos did benefit from Ves and the System. The question I ask myself after reading this many chapters, does Ves really care about Carlos as a person or as an asset? Can a psychopath distinguish between people and things or does he think they are all his possessions to do with as he pleases? Having read this far into the novel I want to advise Carlos to run far away from Ves and choose another career other than Mech Designing. In truth, Ves still might hunt him down out of paranoia that Carlos knows too much about the System and could lead his enemies to him. He may even be fabricating an advanced version of the Mind Blender to use on employees, friends and family who want to leave him. Why do I mistrust the motivations of Ves Larkenson? Because he is a monster with little or no concept of empathy. You have all read the same story I have... don’t be fooled by a hug or act of generosity.

Growing pains

Carlos got CANDIES from Ves. Don't fk with me and say that Carlos owes him nothing. In fact, without Ves, he wouldn't be able to even get the attention of the senior mech designers. Ves gave him a job, gene treatment, and an opportunity to join his company as a mech designer that ACTUALLY designs. So yes, I think Ves has the privilege toat least get something from this.
