I dont agree with what ves is doing with his licenses. Component licenses sure, but ownership of his mech designs? I'm by no means an expert in this so if the following sounds off to anyone in this profession feel free to jump in. Ves should use a trust in a first rate state or make a foundation for holding his things separately with the stipulation to let LMC freely make use of his licenses as long as certain conditions are met. Conditions like Ves having the majority shares or something. This could double as the method users on the galactic net will access his designs for licensing agreements, as well as protect his personal property in the event LMC goes belly up, or suffers a hostile take over. For example, LMC goes under and the creditors taking hold of the ownership of all his licenses while he is away. Also for example, Ves hands control of the CEO seat and they quietly sell off the ownership of Ves personally drafted designs for $1.00 to a competing business.
The reason why this isn't a issue is because he MTA regulates the sale of licenses and titles for mech designs. Companies cannot set the prices for either, which protects the rights of the designer. That's why it was such a big deal they put a price tag of 5 billion on the license. Now Ves or another designer could make a design and sell it to another entity before submitting it to the MTA, but that's a different issue entirely.
