I read a lot of comments about how QC was being forced into the backseat while SY emerges the hero... but for once I am ok with SY taking the initiative. QC isn't weak. He is human and humans are often slave to circumstances. In fact I like how the author strove for realism here instead of making another over-the-top, super all rounder, good-at-everything (except cooking) character like HM. That seems too forced and I know it's a story but why go so far-fetched. So QC has the right intent but can't act it out, and SY happened to boast the right lineage to rescue her so why not? In fact the real hero here is his grandpa, not him, but of course he gets full marks for managing to coerce action.
