Phoenix God's Trial (Part 1)
Ao Rai felt himself seemingly disappear from the plane he was on, and when he reappeared he was in a large expanse, of pure black.
Two large golden slits appeared in front of Ao Rai, before widening, and forming into eyes.
An archaic voice rang out in Ao Rai's eyes.
"Young man, you are the first to come here in many years, and you don't even possess the phoenix bloodline, however you may take this trial."
Ao Rai instantly felt a sliver of joy. Even though he knew that this was how the original story went, the fact that this was confirmed not only meant he would be able to gain an increase in his talent and power from the rewards of the trial, but also meant that he had an effective knowledge of certain future events due to his reading of the story previously on earth.
"However, you are already at the emperor profound realm at such a young age, that means you are qualified to take the more advanced trial, with greater risk, but simultaneously greater rewards."
Ao Rai was surprised at first, but then instantly felt even greater joy. The phoenix clearly couldn't tell from his external appearance and aura that he possessed unbelievable battle prowess so a trial like this shouldn't be too hard for him.
"I agree Phoenix, I will take this harder trial."
"Good, as I would expect from someone with your talents, if you are suffering at any time you may choose to leave the trial, since this trial poses a very real threat of death, even moreso than the regular trial. It is split into two stages. The first stage tests overall battle capability and talent, with the second stage being a test of character."
Ao Rai responded,"let's begin then." However internally he was feeling a bit of confusion, since the Phoenix couldn't detect the Tyrannical Emperor's Divine Veins on him, however thinking it through since they had been assimilated by the World Dao Profound Veins then it makes sense their aura would change, this was probably why the Phoenix couldn't detect anything weird about his body since the World Dao Physique was too advanced for a mere remnant to detect.
As Ao Rai began to realise just how special his physique truly was where a true god remnant couldn't even sense it, the scenery around him changed, becoming a hellish area with a red sky and a barren rocky landscape.
The voice of the phoenix rang out in Ao Rai's ears once more,"You must defeat the enemy in front of you to pass this trial, and be warned, although you have proved your talent in cultivation having the strength of the emperor profound realm with the bone age of a 16 year old, this will test your battle capabilities to an insane extent."
As Ao Rai prepared for the enemy in front of him, potentially feeling like there could be a hint of a challenge, a flaming ball of fire appeared in front of him, and expanded outwards forming into a humanoid figure formed fully of fire, and soon a mighty aura emanated out from its body, with the cultivation level of... Tyrant Profound Realm Rank 1.
A sliver of disdain flashed across Ao Rai's eyes.
"I can kill even peak Sovereign Profound Realm cultivators and this stupid chicken wants to stop me with only a Tyrant Profound Realm level foe. Well its dug its own grave."
Outwardly though Ao Rai put on a determined expression as if he was facing a great foe. However despite feeling that this would be an easy battle, he still felt some apprehension and hidden excitement, to see if the information on his Joss Flame power was true, and it truly possessed the ability to boost his battle power to such an extent.
"Time to truly test the power of the Joss Flame." Using the method detailed within his memories, Ao Rai clasped his hands together in a prayer position and inhaled deeply before exhaling with incredible speed, and shouting at the same time the words,"WORLD DAO SHAKES THE SKIES"
In an instant, Ao Rai's originally lean and somewhat skinny physique grew to an incredible extent, his height doubling. His hair went from a lustrous black to a blinding gold colour, and his body became bound by incredible muscles, with golden rivers seemingly running all underneath his skin. An incredible aura burst forth from Ao Rai's body, and with every movement of his body he seemed to generate incredible power. The aura that burst forth was incredibly that of a peak monarch, a 10th rank Sovereign Profound realm cultivator!
With a mighty laugh, Ao Rai jumped towards the humanoid fire figure, preparing to engage in his first true battle since reincarnating in the Profound Sky Continent.
