Day 17

"Happy Sweet Sixteen!" I tell Kyle as I give him his new birthday card. I put lot's of effort into that card. I remember drawing as many cupcakes and lollipops as I can around the number as well as one the outside of the card.

"Renata, I read the card yesterday and the new note you added in sharpie. You're welcome," is Kyle's reply to me.

Sitting down next to his bed, I grinned. "You have some pretty interesting friends. Well, not Tripoli. She made it very clear to me that she owed you one and that friendship had absolutely nothing to do with it."

"Of course she would. Her boyfriend is one of my best buds though," replied Kyle. "Have his acting skills diminished or blossomed since I saw him last?"

I fold my hands into a fist as they rest in my lap. "I'd say he fit right into the food fight scenario. What a wonderful instigator he is."

Kyle smirks as he said, "My only regret is that I couldn't be there to see it unfold. Was it epic?"

"It was. And also it was terrifying. I was getting assaulted before Tripoli and her camera made themselves known." Kyle frowned at that and I put both hands up. "Nothing happened. Well, I shouldn't say that. I'm pretty sure you terrified my assaulter, but that part was more fun than traumatizing for me. Makes me wish I was in on it."

"Then the element of surprise wouldn't be there now would it?"

"True. Now, how does Abraham fit into the plan. Or did your other friend just tag along?" Kyle raises his brows.

"Abraham was there?"

"Is he not a friend of yours?" I asked Kyle. "He said you were his friend."

Kyle's brows go back to their normal height as he rests his chin in the palm of his hand. "Abraham is somebody I met when we were both in drama camp in the summer when we were ten. Only difference is while I enjoyed the experience, Abraham hated it. Even though he is good at acting. He's like an anti-actor. Even if he hates to be in plays, he's naturally good at it. Drama club always wanted to cast him in the main male roles."

"Sounds like he was your competition," I replied with a smirk.

"On the contrary, he was the reason I ended up getting more main roles. He would flat out say no and they would look to me to fill those spots." Kyle frowned as he added, "Well, there was only one main role Abraham wouldn't turn down. He did play the phantom in the phantom of the Opera."

Smirking I asked Kyle, "And what role in the Phantom of the Opera did you play?"

"Raoul, of course. I still got the girl," replied Kyle with a wink. "I was the first Asian-American Raoul ever!"

I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. "I'm sure you killed it."

"I did, but so did Abraham."
