Work Overnight

For the rest of the day, Feng Mian showed her work to Zhang Liang and also her thoughts regarding the project. Hearing her ideas, Zhang Liang was surprised that she could think that much.

Well, it might be also because she was an artistic person. Because of that, she was capable of thinking so many things that he had missed.

"Brother Liang, those two colors won't match. If you mix that shade, it'll be ugly because it's too dark," Feng Mian pointed out when Zhang Liang told her that he wanted that color.

Zhang Liang frowned. "I thought that it's good to be red?"

"Yes, but not to add it with dark red too. The chocolate is already dark. It'll be better to use other colors such as silver color or maybe gold."

"Hmm, how about…"

The two of them talked about the colors and patterns. They also discussed the placement for the brand. Right now, Feng Mian felt that Zhang Liang was just like a big client who was very picky with his work. It took her a long time to match with his demands and requests.

When it was all finished, Feng Mian looked at the design in front of her. It was truly a beautiful box to the point that she might even feel bad for opening it. Even though in a few months, she would think of it as an ordinary box, it looked really good right now.

The box had a print on top of the box. Then there were straps that were similar to the present box. However, what caught her attention was the silver color and pattern that Zhang Liang asked her to make. It made the box really look eye-catching and intriguing.

If there was chocolate inside, wrapped in golden colored wrapping, it would be perfect.

"You did it pretty fast," Zhang Liang commented.

Feng Mian raised her head. She glanced at the clock and stunned herself. It was already 3 AM and he told her that it was quick?

"It usually takes days before the design comes up with the one I'm satisfied with. Can you make the full report and submit it to me in the morning?"

'You want me to work now?'

Well, since it was already nearing morning, Feng Mian didn't feel like sleeping too. She nodded her head and looked at the box's design in front of her, wondering how she should start her report.

"I'll give you the example. Have you never worked on the full report for this kind of project before?"

"No. I usually only worked on some parts and had Yu Yan complete the rest. As long as I make my part correctly, I don't usually need to worry about other things," Feng Mian admitted. She was not that interested in that annoying report, so she only did what was needed. After all, it was always teamwork.

Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. "You're very lax."

"… I consider myself as a relaxed person, Brother Liang. I'm unlike you who's ambitious." Feng Mian shot a glare at Zhang Liang.

Hearing that, Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. He stood up. "I'll be taking a nap before going to work. You can take a nap too if you want."

It was only then Feng Mian recalled that Zhang Liang didn't sleep at all last night. She shook her head. "No need. You can sleep first. I'll finish my work."

"If you say so."

It was not the first time Feng Mian worked overnight and probably wouldn't be her last. Studying the layout of the report that Zhang Liang gave to her, she was speechless. This report was much more comprehensive than what her team had ever made before.

No wonder that they couldn't be compared to the elites that Zhang Liang had in his main company.

Ring! Ring!

Hearing the alarm, Feng Mian turned her head to the back. She saw Zhang Liang raise his hand and turn the alarm off as he messed his hair lazily. Her lips quivered slightly. He looked very enchanting right now.

"Y…you're already awake?"

Zhang Liang yawned. "Yeah. Work."

His husky voice was even lower today. It seemed that the effect of not having enough sleep made him sound more tired than usual. Well, Feng Mian felt a bit worried that Zhang Liang would fall sick if this continued.

He went to the bathroom and came out around fifteen minutes afterwards. He looked at Feng Mian's laptop and noticed that her report was going well. "You're doing good."

"Thank you, Brother Liang."

"With these capabilities, you would have made it if you wanted to become a team leader then into the ranks of managers," Zhang Liang commented. Those who could learn fast usually could climb high.

Feng Mian laughed dryly. "I don't really have much interest in climbing high in my position. The higher my position is, the more responsibility I'll have. I'm content with staying at my current position."

"Even though the pay is low?"

"….I get a rise after the year's end, right?"

Zhang Liang nodded. He had checked and noticed that the staffs decided to increase Feng Mian's wage for this year. However, the increase was mostly because she had been working since she was in university and had good work. Though, her late record nearly made it impossible for them to give recommendation to promote her position.

Feng Mian smiled. "Then normally it's enough. I wouldn't say no for more, but I don't really care for money as long as I can live enough. Some people are just not suited for high positions. If everyone wants to be a leader but no one wants to be subordinate, no one would be doing the work. After all, the majority of people are actually just employees, right?"

"Indeed, but you're too relaxed."
