Sunfish

He was sleeping face-flat on his desk the moment his lunch break began. "Ah... a meteor falling and destroying this office..." He was sleeping too deep to even sleep talk, when a finger lightly tapped his shoulder.

"Hey, hey?" The tapping turned into a shaking. Then, did he finally wake up. "Huh?... huh! Oh sorry, you called me?" He rubbed his eyes and saw his co-worker that sits right next to him.

His co-worker that saw he had finally woke up, spoke. "Have you seen this survey before?"

" 'zombie apocalypse survival percent test' ?" He read the title of the survey out loud.

"This is pretty fun, want to try it?" His co-worker said while handing him his phone. The survey actually piqued his curiosity. if not, what can make him curious in this boring workplace?

It only took few minutes to answer all the questions and get the results.....

[0.99% wow! It's so rare to get this, your worse then a sun fish. You won't even last an hour in the zombie apocalypse! You know those extra that approach someone obviously turning into a zombie and ask them if they are alright and gets bitten? That's you! Maybe even the first zombie ever-] he immediately closed the survey tab, getting pissed. His coworker tried to calm him down, "come on, it's only for fun-" his coworker didn't get to finish his words before people's scream sounded. He looked out the window to see... "did they say it would rain today?" He turned his head, looking at his coworker. Hearing his words, his coworker looked out at the window too, even opening a little bit and touching it, "I'm sure the forecast didn't say anything about rain... I didn't even bring my umbrella."

He looked outside the window, through the pouring rain, he could faintly see people... biting another people? He was about to say this to his coworker too, but...

"¥£|*]€~!{€\>€|*]€,|>%]"

...his coworker was now saying words that he wasn't sure if it's even was a word. Then, his coworker lunged at him.

He reacted fast, but not fast enough. His coworker bite him as he pushed him out the open window, "Wha....." he knew, that this seemed to be the famous zombie apocalypse..... "I really didn't last an hour for sure didn't I?" He murmured as the world became blurry.

----

He could hear a group of people talking around him....

???:"is he dead?"

?:"he's breathing though"

??:"hey, I think he woke up"

He woke up and saw familiar faces.... "huh?"

His another coworker that was close to him approached him, "you okay Rei?"

He, I meant Rei... blinked few times out of confusion. "Why is....?"

Rei's female coworker 'Amelia' explained it to him, "he were coming back to our office when the whole zombie apocalypse happened, it seems like you turn into a zombie once you touch the rain outside"

That explained how he wasn't a zombie right now... he sat up and looked around more, there were only total of seven people here. "Everyone else is?"

"They didn't comeback.... the people here right now are the ones that came back early-" a loud banging noice cut Amelia off....

"What's that?" He noticed the file room was blocked with furnitures and someone, or something was banging at it.

"Our dang boss is still a nuisance even after death" a man spoke aloud with an annoyed tone. His name was Liam... Rei knew everyone here, after all... being close with his coworkers weren't bad.

"W-w-what should we do now?...." another female coworker spoke, her voice shivering with fear.

"We have to find a way to get to the other floors" Amelia said, "the elevators seemed to have stopped, we need the key card and..."

"I told you our boss is still a nuisance" Liam spoke again. that meant... their boss has the keycard with him....

"Anyone willing to open the file room and take a dive?" His another coworker, Adalyn... asked.

Rei slowly raised his hand, who know? Maybe he wanted to play the hero. Or just because he always wanted to die?

The moment Rei opened the file room... there... isn't anybody? He walked farther into the file room, he felt a stare from behind. His boss, lunged at him.... he looked nothing like a human being.... his boss only looked like a monster, he had a shape similar to that of a humans... but instead of a face, there were only weird drawings that looked like rune? The other body parts were all pitch black, the sight was terrifying... the file shelves collapsed, the monster were now covered in files.... unmoving. He quickly searched the pocket of his boss, "! What's this water...." how did he not notice there was a leak in the ceiling? The rain.... touched him. He quickly closed the door to the file room, locked it. And sat down... "HA! Jokes on you... I lasted more then an hour..." he sat there, waited and waited. But nothing happened? A low knock from outside the file room could be heard, "are you okay Rei?" The voice was Liam's.

I responded, trying to act casually. "Nothing, just having a hard time finding the card."

"Your finding the card for two hours?" From Liam's voice, I could already see him frowning outside the door.

"How long does it take you to turn into a monster once you touch the rain?"

"Three seconds?"

He still didn't turn? He was confused, but he grabbed the card and walked out, "I found the card"

"Let's go to the next floor then"

[currently on fourth floor]
