Stolen Wallet [Revised]

"Toji. I have received confirmation that the heir of the Gojo Family, as well as the head, will be attending the party. Do not be anywhere near the clan's premises when they are here."

"Is that the only reason you called me here? It's a month away, why tell me now and not the day before."

It was a week after New Year's and currently midnight. Inside a dimly lit room were two figures, one was sitting while the other was standing.

The one that spoke first had light blonde hair accented with dark tips. He had small, yet sharp eyes with thin, long eyebrows. His face was filled with wrinkles. He was the current head of the Zenin Clan; Vajiru Zenin.

Vajiru Zenin had been the family head of the Zenin Clan for several decades. His lifespan was nearing its end. Though he should've chosen a suitable clan heir by now, he was simply waiting for one of his sons to produce a worthy grandson. Based on the grandson's quality, he would make their father, his son, the new head of the family.

The man he was speaking to was Toji Zenin, who was more prominently known as the Failure of the Zenin Clan. He was Vajira's grandson, yet he possessed such a disgraceful title due to the heavenly restriction he was born with.

The moment Toji was born, his father was immediately disqualified in the competition to become the family head. Needless to say, his father was unhappy about it and abandoned the boy and the mother. He soon died during a mission while the mother was gone from the Zenin clan, leaving Toji all alone to fend for himself.

Now, Toji Zenin is a tall, muscular man. He had pitch-black hair that reached his neck. His eyes were light green and had thin, black eyebrows.

"Do not speak to me in that tone. You are not needed anymore, leave."

Toji got up and slowly walked out of the room. When he saw his grandson leave and close the door, Vajiru released a sigh of relief. Despite being a failure, he recognized Toji's strength and combating talent.

'What a disappointment. If only he was born with the talent to become a jujutsu sorcerer, he alone would have been enough to make the Zenin Clan become the strongest in Japan. Maybe he could have rivaled the Six Eyes.'

Month: February

When the time came, the Gojo Family who was invited to the party had arrived. Toji was told to leave the premises a day before when they actually confirmed their date of arrival.

While he was leaving the territory, he was met with looks of arrogance, disgust, or fear from the members of the clan. All of them either looked down on him due to him not being a sorcerer or feared him and his strength.

Toji didn't care, he was used to it. After all, those scornful gazes had watched him ever since he was a child.

During the afternoon on the day the Gojo Family arrived, Toji was wandering through the streets of Nagoya, making his way to his favorite restaurant. On his way, he was busy daydreaming about what to do during his 'vacation.'

While he was distracted, he never stopped moving. Although the streets weren't crowded since it was the middle of the day, there were still people wandering about. Yet, he easily avoided bumping into people who were too distracted themselves to notice Toji.

As a tradeoff for his complete lack of cursed energy, the heavenly restriction gifted him an immense physical prowess and sharpened his five senses to their peak. The senses are the main contributors that allowed him to easily avoid people even though he was distracted.

Yet, his daydreaming session was unexpectedly interrupted when someone bumped into him. Toji dazedly looked at the boy who woke him up. He wasn't really upset about the situation, he was just very surprised about it.

As mentioned previously, his senses helped him easily avoid people. This also includes people purposefully bumping into him.

This was the first time in such a long time that he failed to avoid someone bumping into him, and from a child no less. Ever since he was young and had started training his body and senses to better utilize the heavenly restriction, nobody had ever caught him by surprise before.

The kid that bumped into him was a boy. He had black hair just like Toji and black eyes that were devoid of any light.

Toji was even more amazed when he realized that the boy wasn't emitting any cursed energy. His senses were heightened to the point where he can sense and be aware of cursed spirits, which consequently allows him to sense cursed energy.

The boy quickly got up and apologized for the small accident. Before Toji could have a word with him, the boy swiftly ran away. He planned on capturing him when he realized the kid had disappeared around a corner.

*blink blink*

'Is he like me? He should have been able to avoid me. It's odd that I'm the one he bumped into. There was lots of space in the streets.'

Toji shook his head and continued his stroll. He entered a restaurant and ordered something. When he finished his lunch, he was about to pay when he realized he couldn't find his wallet.

That kid stole my wallet... No wonder he bumped into me... I'm going to kill him...'

The kid-in-question was Yukio!

While he was sitting through his gains, he felt his hair stand on end. He looked around but didn't see anything that could have scared him.

He returned his focus to a certain wallet he had taken.

'Disappointing. I thought he was rich from how he was dressed. He only had enough for a meal. Hm… Is this his ID? He looks familiar. His name was…'

'Toji?!! This is his wallet? Why didn't he stop me? How am I still alive? …Maybe he isn't at his peak strength yet. Yeah, that sounds right. I'll ask Satoru about it later. Phew, maybe I should retire from pickpocketing.'

The only reason why Yukio was able to steal and escape from Toji right under his nose was because of two skills; [Advanced Hiding] and [Intermediate Pickpocketing]. The reason why he went out to pickpocket was that it had upgraded recently and he just wanted to test it out.

As for [Advanced Hiding], Yukio successfully advanced it around New Year's. It was primarily thanks to his cursed energy being undetectable by the Gojo Family sorcerers.

Description: Substantially boosts your proficiency at hiding. Your presence has been drastically lowered, increasing your resistance from being detected by the primary senses. If you are found, there is a rare chance for a distraction to occur that will enable you the chance to continue hiding; limited to once per day.

[Intermediate Pickpocketing]

Description: Moderately boosts your proficiency at pickpocketing. When stealing something, your limbs become less noticeable. If you steal something, a phantom of the object will take its place to temporarily fool the target's senses.

To advance the skill, successfully steal large, noticeable objects without getting caught and sell each of them for at least 50,000 ryo (~278,292 yen).

'I gotta head back to Satoru. Only he and the Head could protect me from Toji. Wait a second, won't I be walking into a hornet's nest? I'll be on the watch out. I should be able to escape as long as I'm hiding.'
