He said go to the bed and we'll talk tomorrow, he said dismissing her with a wave of his hand.

Ada feet still hurt from the morning's failed escape she stared at them, and then at the ground scared to lie beside ikenna who sat on their. On impulse, she went back to the adjourning hut (house) and leaned against the wall.

Ikenna still wondering if this was how he was going to continue with his new wife, on one night after another. She had just given him the perfect opportunity to sneak out to see his love but he was tired, and it would be the subject of gossip among the servants and villagers if he was seen outside the palace on his wedding night. He wondered what Ada was doing in the ajoining hut, she hadn't said a word to him . He hated the idea of sharing a bed with a stranger for the rest of his life, but he was going to make sure this marriage did not live to see six moon (6months)

Ada heard him moving around the room and thought he had stepped out she quickly returned to the room and found his crown, neck beads and jewelries with his spear on the wooden chair. He was probably not going far. Whatever the case, she did not care. She quickly lay on the bed like a statue and closed her eyes trying to fall asleep before he came back from wherever he went.

She thought of the strange new direction her life had taken. There would be no more singing in the forest while picking fruits, no more dancing in the river with her orphan she was now expected to behave like the future queen. As she drift off to sleep, she heard a movement on the other side of the bed and sat up abruptly, Could that be a snake? She stood and grabbed ikenna spear from beside the door, she took quiet steps in the direction of the sound, until she came close enough to discover that it was actually the handsome prince who lay there he look really handsome in dark night but why was he sleeping on the floor?

What is the problem? What are you doing standing there?'he asked brashly.

The spear fell from Ada's hand and she apologized immediately 'I heard movements and thought it was a sna...ke. I am sorry good night your highness 🤤🤤🤤🤤
