1 Chapter one
•Vampires •
In the medivial times, a kingdom called clover existed in the western part of Africa.
Today was the young prince birthday, it is going to be a great celebration, the prince is turning 18 and his going to be given the liberty to leave the palace and see his surbodinate as he wished, he name was ZILA.
Zila was a tall and slender guy, pale complexion a hair that was like expensive silk and was jet black in colour , lip was as red as rose had dominant aura, he was endowed with a look that was said to be heavenly
Zila had a best friend named yan chi who had grown up with him they trained together, studied and played together they were inseparable and adorable.
Yan chi was a son of the chief adviser to the king, he was a foreigner who was welcomed to the land and they became one.
Zila's dad got married to yan chi's aunt, so yan chi and zila were cousins.
MORNING
"Wake up birthday boy and stop sleeping like a log." zila's sister aliz called out while banging the door.
Zila covers his ear with his pillow "Go away your gonna end up making my ears bleed."
"Ugh such a lazy frog, if u don't come out I'll go tell the king." aliz threatened.
"Go away."zila said sitting up.
"Good morning princess aliz ." Yan chi greeted his cousin.
"Oh yan chi, please wake this silly brother of mine so the maids can clean his room up." Aliz begged.
"Fine I'll go check up on him and talk to him for you ok." Yan chi smiled sweetly at aliz.
"Fine." she turned around and left while saying "I wish he was as gentle and understanding as you, ugh! he keeps making my life hell!!!!." She dashed out the corridor.
"Open the door little blood sucker." Yan chi said while steering at aliz who was already too far.
"It's already open, get your ass in here and stop acting so formal." zila said as he went to take a bath.
"So your 18 now huh, what a little man." Yan chi smirked.
"Urrrrgh!! your not that older ok, stop rubbing your seniority rubbish on my face." zila said as he squeezed his face.
"Oh really, ha ha 22 is not older? Huh." Yan chi scoffed.
"Yh." he said as he turned on the water and rest his body as he sigh with pleasure "ahhh."
Few minutes later he come out with a white towel rapped around his waist.
"So how do you feel knowing your gonna be able to leave the palace freely after tonight's celebration." Yan chi asked
"To be honest I don't know how I feel." Zila shrugged.
"You've always wanted that so why don't you know." Yan chi wasn't expecting zila's answer.
"You know dad said I can't converse with them." Zila said placing his daggers in his black jackets.
"He's doing it for you and the kingdom's protection." Yan chi explained.
"You've been outside this palace and you always tell me how it was a nice experience and they also let you converse with them so why do they restrict me." Zila said with disgust.
"Umm I don't know." Yan chi lied.
"Your lying, come on tell me." Zila said.
"Umm maybe iscause of that event that happened on your 15th birthday." Yan chi said calmly so he won't awaken zila's beast.
Zila tried to control his temper, he was really a scary person when he get angry, and he causes havoc "why don't they let that silly shit go, it was just a silly mistake I didn't mean to kill that werewolf and he came at me first." Zila twitched his lips.
"Your such a liar he came at you and you killed him and feed off him that wasn't a mistake your lucky your dad the king resolved it on time but that's not the case, the main reason was the witch that said something about you bringing chaos if you leave the palace." Yan chi said.
"All my life I have stayed in here like a prisoner I'm one of the best fighter but I'm not even allowed to fight, the ring that makes it possible for us to go out in daylight I'm the only one who wasn't given am just not loved by anyone here." Zila said bitterly.
"Come on zila you know I love you." yan chi grinned
"Fuck off." zila said.
Immediately aliz came in
"Get out." Zila ordered his twin sister.
"Urrgh what ever." she said while rolling her eyes "Dad said you should come to his chambers immediately."
"Get out!." Zila repeated.
She scoffed and said "Get dressed you animal."
Zila's eyes turned bloodshot red as he picked a vase and threw it at her as he smirked devilishly.
Yan chi ran swiftly and used his leg to kick the vase "shit!." He exclaimed as he felt a deadly pain in his leg he fell to the ground and the vase fell to the ground with a thud it shattered
Zila and aliz rushed towards yan chi.
"Are you ok?." Zila asked
"Dehm you Zila do you want to kill her." Yan chi said with disgust,anger and pain.
Zila and aliz paused aliz replied "You thought that stuff was gonna hit me?."
"Didn't you see it he threw it at you." Yan chi was in bad pain as he asked.
"Well....I was supposed to catch it he wouldn't dare kill the only person who loves him in this place." She explained.
"What do you mean." Yan chi asked as he was confused.
"We do it all the time and by the way she started it." Zila said and aliz grinned.
"I'm so gonna kill you." Yan chi screamed.
"Umm Zila do you have any ointment." Aliz asked.
"What will I need that for?." Zila asked.
"To subside the pain." She said.
"Oh so you got some?." Zila asked.
"Ugh asshole, help him up so we can take him to my room I have ointment there." Aliz said.
They both stepped out but Zila saw the maids blushing and he frozed why were they staring at him and acting strangely he followed one of them line of sit and it ended at his chest down. Shit he realized he was still on towel he immediately pushed yan chi and dashed into his room
"Urrgh you animal." yan chi screamed.
"Stop being a crybaby Zila said as he dashed to his room and shut his door.
Aliz giggled seeing how this two men acted like a kid was silly
Yan chi stared at her for a while with admiration writing all over.
They both finally entered her room she placed him on her bed as she brought the ointment and began to apply it gently on his feet while blowing on it.
Yan chi felt relieved and kept staring at her.
"All done." she said as she stood up.
"Huh....oh thanks." he said as he walked out.
Zila dressed up in his black long sleeve and black trouser and his badass black jacket, it suited him when he was done he headed to the kings chamber. when he arrived he bowed
"Your highness." He bent his neck like he was staring at his chest.
"Idiot you are supposed to go lower than that." the king scoffed at his son's disrespectful attitude
"I'm sorry your highness." Zila said simply.
The king opened a golden cup and drank from it as he stared back at Zila.
Zila eye where turning cloudy like he was drunk in wine, Zila realized that the cup his dad just drank from was blood, not animal blood but human blood and it was not allowed but then again he was the king and few rules weren't applicable to the royal."
"Hmmm learnt to control the urge huh or are you just pretending." The king commented.
"I'm not your highness." Zila said human blood was a mere shit to him if only the king knew how smart his son is 'huff he just love treating me like I'm an enemy.' Zila thought.
"Hmm that's a good thing." The king said while studying his son.
"Dad when will I be given the ring for my protection." Zila asked.
"Soon enough but for now you can only see the kingdom at night." The king said.
"Dad but you promised to give me the ring when I turned 18." Zila said as dissatisfaction flashed through his eyes.
"Well I did but I changed my mind, I need to observe you before handing it to you. Now the reason I called you is to inform you that there's going to be a grand celebration for you and mind you they will be humans so keep your eyes at bay and mind you any mistake made will be the last now get out." The king said.
Zila stared at his dad and stepped out.
The king looked at where his son was standing before he said sadly "I'm trying to keep you safe that's why I'm doing this."
"Your doing the right thing my king, it's best for everyone." The kings adviser and wizard appeared into the room.
The king sigh.
"That boy will bring nothing but trouble, he's rebellious." The wizard scoffed.
"That's my boy your talking about." The king rebuked the comments
"I'm sorry my highness." The wizard said fearfully.
"This was all my fault, I shouldn't have been rebellious. I have made a lot of mistakes and now I finally found a real family I have to protect them from my past." The king said
"You did what you thought was best your highness you have lived for many years and you had made history that's why you are still the greatest vampire king ever." he said as he bowed
"Get me zila's personal bodyguard." The king said as the wizard vanished into thin air.
Zila entered his room, he was very pissed he went to his storage room as he picked a jar of blood, human blood. He placed it on the tray as he sat down and sipped the blood leisurely and immediately his door flung open.
"Come on in yan chi." Zila gave an evil smirked.
Yan chi's eyes were focused on the jar, he went closer and picked zila's glass and gulped everything in one go.
"Calm your demons young man." Zila smirked
"This is human blood Zila where did you get it." Yan chi said
"I have my ways." He said simply.
"What do you mean?." Yan chi asked.
"Even if I'm locked up here I still am the crowned prince and that means my dad's blood run through me." Zila said.
"Cut the tale and tell me please." Yan chi felt depressed.
"From a donation program I held." He said.
"Liar! how can you hold a donation when you can't even go out." Yan chi scoffed.
"I'm serious these blood where from donations, I wouldn't kill my people will I?." Zila asked.
"Are you sure." Yan chi said as he looked at Zila.
"Have I ever lied to you." Zila asked.
"Alright." Yan chi said, he knew his cousin was notorious but not a liar.
"How's your leg." Zila asked as he poured some blood to his cup and sipped it.
"What can I say, I'll have my revenge in the training this afternoon." yan chi said walking out the room feeling hazy he immediately went to his room and took a fresh wine from his room to conceal the smell of blood he was too engrossed in what he was doing that he was oblivious of the person watching him.
