7 Adoption (part. II)

(The amount of Hatsu that can be stored in Yuta's Bank Hatsu has been changed to 3)

It was soon after I heard the end of the conversation that I was called into the head caretaker's office. Being prepared for this I had already returned to my room to pack my meager possessions. All I have is my toothbrush and a few pairs of clothes that I have from the orphanage. The only thing that held any sentimental value to the previous owner of this body was a torn-up teddy bear called Mr. Bear.

Technically the bear belongs to the orphanage, but when a caretaker saw me looking at it urged me to keep it. I decided to keep Mr. Bear for two reasons despite not having any personal attachment to him. Firstly, it was one final nod to the previous owner of this body. I don't know if there was even a soul in this body before me, but if so this is how I would honor them. Secondly, even though I haven't lived in this world since my birth I had memories of it and Mr. Bear would be a reminder of where I started. No matter how great I become I will always remember where I came from.

This becomes sort of a moot point when knowing that I have been set up to be successful. Though being lucky is a part of life and unlife I guess. Some people are born with a powerful quirk and rich family, others are born quirkless and orphaned. I just got a lot luckier than most and I won't feel bad or hate myself for that. That doesn't mean I will look down on others either, or I will try not to at least.

With that In mind, I stuffed Mr. Bear and my other belongings into a small bag before heading down to the head caretaker's office. I was quickly ushered in and finally got a good look at who I would be living with for the foreseeable future. As I had seen earlier, they both looked to be in their mid to late 20s and were dressed well. They gave off a solidly upper-middle-class vibe. They both looked perfectly average. Average height, average looks, and most likely average quirks as well.

The first thing that struck me as I analyzed them was that they both seemed to be nervous, but genuinely excited. Upon entering the room I gave a polite bow and introduced myself. The woman gave an aww at my cute little bow and the man gave a wide smile. I sat with them and answered questions when asked, but other than that I stayed quiet.

Soon enough the paperwork was done and I was given a tearful farewell from Hina and some of the children. I thought I saw a few of the caretakers shed a few tears as well. I gave one final wave as I climbed up into the car along with my meager belongings. Once I was in the car the woman, Mei, and the man Hiro both looked at my meager possessions before looking back at each other before Mei spoke.

"We were planning to go shopping later, but I believe it would be better to do a bit of shopping on the way back home, what do you think dear?"

"That seems like it would be prudent,"

As Hiro spoke he gave a look at my small bag. For the rest of the drive, the two of them spoke of what they would need to buy as well as asking me if there is anything I would like to get. Again and again, I responded in the negative, but they seemed almost desperate to get me to want to buy something. The thing was, as long as I have a roof over my head and a few pairs of clothes then I am fine.

Deciding to do something productive while in the car, I started practicing. I used Gyo to channel all of the aura in my body into my fist. At first, I had struggled with Gyo, channeling all of my aura to do anything was a monumental task in and of itself. However, just moving aura to a specific part of my body isn't something that took me too long to master. Gyo was by far the easiest of the more advanced applications of Nen to master. In had proven to be much more difficult to use, but it too hadn't been incredibly difficult to master. Gyo had taken me two days to master, while In had taken five.

Also, I had still been training the basics throughout. I could now use Ten 24/7 no matter if I am asleep or not. I am still not able to use In while sleeping, but I am definitely getting closer to having In active all the time. Using In while awake has become as simple as breathing, most likely due to the new Hatsu I created a few days ago.

Hatsu - Advanced Adaptation

Description - When the body is exposed to new stimuli aura is consumed to create a natural resistance to that stimuli if it is harmful in nature (EX: MC burns his hand, then aura is consumed and if he repeats the same action again he won't get burned). This also applies to learning a new skill, aura will be consumed to increase mastery of the skill. The more talent the user has in a particular field the less aura is needed to master skills regarding to that field. Can be used to strengthen Hatsu and aura pool as well.

Conditions - To create a greater resistance or amount of mastery the more aura is needed to be consumed.

This new Hatsu gave my already monstrous talent a boost. With my talent and aura pool, all I need to do is use some aura to master any skills in regard to Nen and the usage of aura. Also, if my aura pool ever proves to be too small I can even use my new Hatsu to expand my aura pool, though I figured that would probably cost a massive amount of aura to expand my aura pool by any noticeable amount.

Despite my talent and this new Hatsu I still have a long road ahead of me.
