1 To The One I Hold Dear

Yuta wakes up to see that he is late to his first day of being a third year in high school, Yuta panics while getting ready He notices that his sister had already left for school. He gets mad that she

didn't wake him up, Yuta leaves to go to school, once he makes it to school he walks down the hallway to find a couple kissing on the stairway. His face goes dark. Yuta hates love. He thinks of it as a waste of time and energy.

Yuta keeps walking until he reaches his class, he tries to sneak in but is caught by the teacher and is instructed to sit down, everyone laughs. The teacher quiets down the class, there is a new transfer student that the teacher wants to introduce, the transfer student walks in.

Everybody in the class is shocked by her beauty because she has long black hair, dark red eyes almost as dark as night. She introduced herself as Lilia Freya, Yuta looks at her but does not seem to understand why everyone likes her so much.

The teacher gives her a seat right next to Yuta. Class goes on for the rest of the day. Yuta, happy to go home, goes to his locker to grab his shoes, after he puts on his shoes he gets stopped by Lilia as he is about to walk out the school doors. She asks him why he didn't try to talk to her during class. He responds

"Well was there a reason to?" "I mean no but still, I am new shouldn't you have at least tried to talk to me." Lilia says "Why do you care so much?" Yuta responds "It's because you are not like other boys, you don't seem to care about my looks." Lilia says, looking away from him. "I don't want to give you the wrong Idea, It's not that you aren't cute. I just don't care, we don't even know each other." Yuta says

"Alright I see, want to try to be friends again?" "Again?" Yuta says, looking confused. Do you want to be friends? Lilia says "Sure, why not?" "Alright, great, see you tomorrow then Yuta." "yeah see

you." Lilia walks out the School doors, Why doesn't he remember me? Yuta… she says with a sad tone. Yuta walks home shortly after Lilia to notice that the lights still weren't on in his house. "Weird she didn't come back home?"

Yuta walks in his house to find a note on the mat by the front door. "I have left to stay at a friend's house, food is on the table," "What!?" Couldn't she have told me beforehand.

"Ugh whatever I just hope she studied for her test" Yuta walks up to his room after eating. That Lilia girl, what did she mean by again? I wonder have we met

before? I doubt it. "Lilia, are you going to eat?" her mother said. "Yes, give me a second please!" She picks herself up off the bed and walks downstairs. Did Yuta seriously forget about me after all this

time, my suspicions were right? I really hope he remembers me soon. "You ok sis" "Yeah.. I am alright" Lilia says. The next day arrives. Yuta gets ready for school and heads out, while walking he sees Lilia, "Hey Lilia, how

is your morning?" "uh.. Um, it's good!" she yells. "No need to yell." Yuta says while laughing, "Let's walk to school together since we are going the same way anyway." "Sure, ok." Lilia says. Yuta and

Lilia make it to school after the silent awkward walk. Yuta's friend Hanno runs up and pats him on the back. "What are you two doing walking together?" Hanno asks. "No reason, we just saw each

other on the way to school and decided to walk together since we are going the same direction anyway." Yuta responds. "Oh I see, I thought you had actually got a girlfriend, guess I was wrong."

Everyone looked at Yuta with jealousy due to him being with Lilia, the now most beautiful and popular girl in school.

"Uh um well bye now, Yuta" Lilia ran off, "Why did she run off?" Hanno said looking at her running, "I don't know" Yuta responds "Maybe she likes you?" "We just met. What gives you that idea in the first place?" Yuta

says while walking to class, "I don't know just a gut feeling" Hanno says. They make it to class, Yuta takes a seat next to Lilia. "Why did you run away?" Yuta whispers to Lilia "Well I don't really like how

everybody looked at you so I tried to divert the attention from you." Lilia responds "So you ran away?" Yuta says "Yeah sorry if that was rude" "No no your fine. I just didn't expect that" "good I am glad I didn't make you think I was weird." "Yeah no worries" Yuta responds.

The bell rings. Yuta heads out to grab his shoes out of his locker, this time there is a note. The note read "Dear Yuta, I would like for you to meet me in the art room tomorrow after school." Is it a love

confession? The next day after school. Well this is the art room, Yuta opens the door. He sees a girl with short black

hair and light brown eyes staring out the window with her back facing Yuta. She turns around and walks up to Yuta. She looks him in the eyes and tells him "I love you!" "Uhh I am sorry um who are you?" he says with a confused face "I am Mirai" "I am sorry Mirai, I cannot accept your love" he says

with a low tone to his voice. "Why not?" Mirai said with desperation in her voice. "I don't like you in that way Mirai" Mirai steps back "what type of girls do you even like?" she says while she is about to burst into tears

"You seem like a great girl Mirai but I cannot date you" Yuta says with an almost monotone voice, "You are lying, YOU ARE A LIAR!" she yells. Mirai runs out of the classroom not noticing Lilia

standing right beside the door. Lilia walks away, Yuta walks out of the classroom with his head down and his face dark. "Why? Why?, WHY DOES LOVE ALWAYS COME AFTER ME." "I hate you "

Yuta punches the wall next to the classroom door. Why did you leave me mother, father? "WHY IS LOVE THAT DAMN IMPORTANT YOU HAD TO LEAVE YOUR OWN SON AND DAUGHTER FOR IT!" he

yells dropping to the floor. Lilia heard this

and couldn't leave him alone. "Yuta, I am sorry" "Why are you sorry, it's not your fault I am this way?" "I know but I want to help you." Lilia sits down next to him on the tiled floor, "Do you like

her?" "Yes I do but I am scared" "Why? You can tell me, Yuta" Lilia scoots closer, almost hugging him she stops. "I don't want to end up like my parents." Yuta says. "You won't, I

promise you that." Yuta gets up. "I am sorry but I have to get going, thanks for helping me out Lilia." Yuta walks away. "Wait!" "Yes" Yuta responds "If you, If you ever need anything feel free to

ask!" she yells out. "Will do, thanks Lilia." Yuta starts walking away again. Lilia heads home happy that she got to help her old friend.

"What is wrong Yuta?" "You look like a ghost." Kanui says, "Sorry Kanui I am just a bit tired" Yuta responds while patting her head. "As your older sister I am going to help you in any way I can."

"thanks Kanui" Yuta heads upstairs. Kanui is shorter and smaller than me but she is still older. People get shocked when I tell them she is my older sister because she

looks like a middle schooler. She is very kind and I am glad to have her. Our parents decided to leave because they didn't plan on having children, they had only raised us until 9 years ago. As a 17 year old it still hurts knowing that our parents left us for a reason as dumb as love. My so called dad

left us with our aunt who works full time every night and day to support us. We never get to see her that much. Kanui knocks on the door, "Yuta, I have tea for you." Yuta opens the door, "Thanks Kanui" Yuta takes the tea

and sits down at his desk. Kanui lays down on Yuta's bed. "It isn't your fault Yuta." "I know but I feel very bad for not being a better brother to you" "You are doing a lot for me Yuta" " "I am the older

sister and I can't even act like one" Kanui says shifting to the opposite side of the bed facing the wall. "You are great Kanui, you just don't realize it" Yuta walks up and sits by Kanui. "Kanui I know you have been working hard lately to be better at being an older sister"
