6 Hunter Of Hunters

Walking leisurely, a tall man with long black hair that reached down to his nape, framing his face with bangs, and a muscular build dressed in a black short-sleeved shirt, loose light-colored pants, and black loafers, with a strange brown worm coiled around his torso and back, finally wrapping around his shoulders, strolled without haste across the rooftops of Tokyo on what, in his opinion, was a rather peaceful night.

With powerful leaps between the gaps between rooftops, this visibly powerful figure seemed lost in his thoughts. Jumping from a small building and landing on the ground, the man looked up at the sky with a relaxed sigh.

Toji Fushiguro, or as he was known in this world, was not a good person. He wasn't the kind of person you'd give a chance to, especially not in a world full of succulent girls and OP abilities. In his mind, he pondered that typically, these opportunities were granted to virgins or those with miserable lives, which he didn't have.

However, he had no intention of joining the main cast and living an eccentric life with top-tier waifus or engaging in crazy and exciting battles while breaking his limits and creating more OP techniques. Deaths here were real, his life was real, his strength, and the demons here were real, and for no reason would he allow himself to become weak knowing that these things existed, and Nakame was in United States without protection.

If he had to kill a protagonist, he would. If he had to assassinate the entire main cast, he would. "Kill to survive," this phrase echoed constantly in his mind as he approached his ultimate goal.

Unlike those who believed that strength was everything, he thought differently. Strength and intelligence were everything to him. Being strong was meaningless if you didn't know how to wield that strength or what to do with it. If you wanted to win, strength and intelligence were everything.

Stepping out of his thoughts and reflections, he focused on reviewing the mission objectives.

The man who had hired him was a fanatic of a strange religion. He offered Toji a reward of 17 million yen if he could accomplish the following objectives:

1-Kill Aki Hayakawa and, if possible, bring back his body. Aki was the only publicly known user of the Demon Fox Contract, and his body was needed for a kind of offering to a "god" in which the fanatic fervently believed.

2-Retrieve 2 demon corpses: the Rata Devil and a strange, amorphous demon they referred to as the "Nid Devil."

3-Humiliate the Demon Hunters, including possibly killing most of them, including Kishibe (but if not, simply try to humiliate them as best as he could).

"Do I have to approach this strategically or go in guns blazing?" After thinking about this for three minutes and arriving at a large warehouse that was destroyed by battle, it looked as if it was barely standing, mostly stained with blood and rusted, like a simple attack would destroy it. He simply smiled.

But it wasn't a normal smile; it was a wild smile, filled with excitement and anticipation for proving himself as the strongest and unchallenged. Performing several stretches as a warm-up while his wild smile spread further across his face, Toji muttered, "I must live up to my name."

Entering the warehouse before him, Toji repeated that phrase in a low voice as he reached for his Cursed Inherited Technique, immediately summoning his favorite weapon, the "Inverted Spear of Heaven."

Upon entering, the first thing he saw was five Demon Hunters standing in a circle, disheveled, and some others among them, with Aki visibly tired but in good condition.

In front of them was Kishibe, and behind him lay the body of a giant rat, at least 30 meters in height, with its right arm missing and the left half of its body bearing a giant bite mark, undoubtedly inflicted by Kon.

They were attending to Kishibe as he took a drag from his cigarette while sitting right on the rat's corpse.

Just as he was about to speak, the sound of a gunshot rang out, and immediately, the hunter closest to Aki collapsed with a bullet hole in his head.

"One less, four to go." With that wild smile on his face, Toji spoke as the muzzle of his gun emitted smoke.

Upon hearing his voice and snapping out of their shock, the hunters immediately turned in his direction, with surprised and some frightened expressions, but the face that interested him the most, Kishibe's, remained expressionless and indifferent to the situation as he stared fixedly.

The moment Toji saw him, he was surprised. Both Aki and another hunter had their hands positioned in the manual summoning seal for Kon.

The other hunter, apparently the contract holder for Kon, had short brown hair tied in a ponytail, green eyes with black slit-shaped pupils, giving him the appearance of a fox.

"Kon!!!" It was what the boy with a somewhat desperate yet furious voice said as he placed the manual seal close to his eye, aiming it at Toji.

In the next moment, the head of a white fox with multiple ringed eyes appeared and seemed to swallow the assassin in a single gulp.

As soon as the head swallowed the assassin, Kishibe furrowed his brow slightly, finding that everything had seemed too easy, given the strange man coiled with that weird thing around his body, he had an inexplicable feeling, perhaps a premonition or something more, he didn't know, but he felt that his senses and instincts had activated inexplicably.

Seeing that they had seemingly won, the hunter who believed he had killed Toji simply sighed and turned to Aki and his companions, including their boss, who was a few meters behind them.

The other hunter, who was standing inches away from Aki, sighed and looked down at the ground, seemingly about to burst into tears at the loss of his comrade.

Aki simply sighed with a hint of sadness, but his face remained stoic as he looked at the person who had taught him most of the things about the Demon Fox and whom he considered a friend.

The hunter next to Aki moved from his position and approached the fallen body of his comrade, placing his hand over his closed eyes.

In the next moment, Kishibe disappeared from his spot and reappeared behind Aki, throwing a punch directly at Toji, who inexplicably had reappeared with his Inverted Spear of Heaven behind Aki at an astonishing speed.

Just as his fist connected with Toji's face, his image distorted right in front of him, momentarily surprising him.

Aki turned to see Kishibe in surprise, but he was even more surprised when he saw Toji stabbing the brown-haired hunter in the throat with a wild smile, and his other companion had his throat slashed.

"Keirooooooo!!!" Aki exclaimed, watching his brown-haired companion being stabbed in the throat, causing him to choke on his blood when he attempted to attack with his katana. He then witnessed a massive explosion forming, causing the place to start crumbling.

Aki and Kishibe rushed out of the place at great speed, barely crossing the hole created by the head of the Demon Fox as they positioned themselves at the entrance.

Kishibe concentrated and took a deep breath, while Aki appeared to be a sea of rage and sadness.

After the place had completely collapsed and a cloud of smoke formed between them and the area, they could hear calm footsteps coming from the smoke.

Emerging from the location with an unusually calm expression and his Inverted Spear of Heaven stained with blood, he smiled to himself upon seeing that his plan had gone perfectly.

As soon as the Fox Demon closed its mouth, he had managed to escape thanks to his superhuman agility and speed and conceal his presence from the hunters. His plan had several purposes:

1-Impact most of the hunters and make them overconfident.

2-Generate a sense of victory in them, even though they wouldn't enjoy it because he had managed to take one of them down.

3-Give them time to mourn their loss and make them emotionally vulnerable. It wasn't necessary to traumatize them, just to make them confident enough to cry, but Kishibe was always alert and had almost prevented him from stabbing Aki.

The smoke would allow him to remove the ones they were interested in from the location and take them to an open area where he could be aware of their movements and what they were doing. However, the smoke served another purpose: it helped him retrieve the bodies of the slain hunters, including the user of the Demon Fox Contract, to take them to the contractor since the Rata Demon's body was in poor condition, and the Nid Demon's body was nowhere to be found.

Shaking his Inverted Spear in the air to remove the blood stains, he simply smiled widely. The final part of his plan was about to be fulfilled—Humiliate them.
