Chap 11

When they arrived at the Dungeons and went to the potion room, the classroom was squared-sized, very large, with large tables. In the corner resides a stone basin used to wash students' hands and ladles. On the corner, there were some closets where most forgetful students could go grab ingredients and other objects.

The two houses sat separately, each one with their tables but one of the tables had to be shared between them. On that table was Drake, Katie and two more students of Gryffindor sharing with Scarlett and three more Slytherin students.

While they were talking to each other Professor Snape entered the classroom and closed all the windows before starting to make the introduction about the potions class.

"In my class, there is no foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through the human veins, bewitching the minds, ensnaring the senses... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even stopper death - if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

Finishing the initial speech, Snape started to ask some questions to the Gryffindor students except Drake. Drake also didn't talk too because he knew that Snape won't ever ask him any questions. Snape knew that Drake already knows almost all the first year's potions making.

After a while, Snape stopped the questioning.

"What a disappointment…we shall start with the Cure for Boils potion, open your books and follow the instructions on it…you may start now" continued Snape while he walked around the tables to observe the students. He gave tips and helped the Slytherin students, on the other hand, he criticized Gryffindor students and discounted points from them. Drake followed the recipe on the book and started to make it. He almost knew the recipe without looking at the instructions, but he still followed the book to guarantee that he didn't do any mistakes.

Part 1

1. Add 6 snake fangs to the mortar.

2. Crush into a fine powder using the pestle.

3. Add 4 measures of the crushed fangs to your cauldron.

4. Heat the mixture to 250 for 10 seconds.

5. Wave your wand.

6. Leave to brew and return in 33-45 minutes.

Part 2

1. Add 4 horned slugs to your cauldron.

2. Take the cauldron off the fire before adding the next ingredient.

3. Add 2 porcupine quills to your cauldron.

4. Stir 5 times, clockwise.

5. Wave your wand to complete the potion.

Meanwhile, Scarlett was paying attention to Drake and saw how focus he was. She then thought of trying to talk with Drake and see how he would react.

"You know, no matter what you do…you will lose points here. I don't know why you are getting all worked out about it. "

"Well, I'm not surprised that you don't understand it" replied Drake with a very casual answer without taking the eyes of the potion. He could sense that she was observing him so he knew that she was talking to him.

"Well, that was what I was expecting from you. My name is Scarlett, nice to meet you, Drake Du… I heard a few things about you…heheheh!" finished Scarlett before she called Professor Snape over to ask for a piece of advice.

Drake looked at her, thinking about what he just heard, he also noticed that she didn't stop doing the potion while she talked to him.

"It seems that her family is closer to Dad than I thought…I will need to ask him thoroughly this time about it," thought Drake.

"Mr. Drake perhaps Ms. Scarlett his more important than the potion, -5 points to Gryffindor! My classes are not for flirting" said a scornful voice that woke up from his thoughts.

Drake saw Snape looking at him with a little smile on his face before he started to talk with Scarlett. Drake just looked at him and didn't respond, he just kept doing the potion. Katie looked at him with worry and Scarlett looked with an apologetic look before she started to pay attention to Professor Snape.

Drake gave a firm nod to Katie to let her know that he was good. When Snape finished talking and went to another table, Drake grabs his wand and made a very fast and smooth movement and t the same time he whispered "Flipendo" into another table whereas the cauldron of one of the Slytherin students bounced off and fell on the floor. As this happened everyone inclusively Snape looked and went to the other side of the room.

While everyone was worried and went to see what happened, Drake also started to move in their direction but with a fast movement, he summoned his hat and took out of it a dung bomb and with the same spell used and put it under the secretary of Snape and set it to explode few seconds after the class finished.

"I saw what you did…I won't tell anyone if you lunch with me today. By the away you can forget your act, I know that you know how to do chantless spells" said a voice from behind him. He knew that Scarlett caught him.

"Shit…I…damm it…you can lunch with me but I'm not going to lunch alone" replied Drake with a busted look on his face.

"Well, I don't care hehehehe!"

"Why the hell are you so adamant to talk or be with me? It's the first day and we never met before…" started Drake before being interrupted by Professor Snape.

"Everyone! go back to you sits and finish the potion now, I won't say twice!"

"Hehehe! I will tell you when we are alone" replied Scarlett before she went to her place.

Everyone went to their places and finish their potions, only the Gryffindor students that were with Drake manage to make the correct potion by the end of the class. When the class finished, the Gryffindor students got out with downcast looks in contrast with the Slytherin students. Drake watched this, inclusively the look of Katie and a few more acquaintances.

"Hey guys, don't be so downcast, if you have any doubts you can ask me when we do the study lessons and during class try to hear the tips that Snape gives to the Slytherins," said Drake. he then continued:

"Well, you already knew that it would be like this and don't worry, there will be teachers, which will be more bias to our house or the other houses.

After talking to a few downcast classmates, Drake stayed behind.

"Go on guys, I will just let the cauldron in the closet and then I'll catch up with you," said Drake to Katie and company. Drake saw that all the locks of the closet were closed so he went to the only open one. He opened the door and before he put the cauldron inside it, he saw an old book accompanied by an old beaker. He grabbed both objects and put them inside his pendant before he let his cauldron there.

"Hmm…strange, these objects seemed old and cool, maybe it's an advanced potions book with secret potions recipes. I will properly study it when I'm alone" thought Drake.

He left the class and found Katie and a few Gryffindor students glaring at Scarlett.

"Let's get going now, we shouldn't be here…we probably have 2 more min," said Drake in a hurried tone before he started to run.

"Hey! Wait up…why are you running off and what time is that?!" asked Katie while she and the others started to run with a giggling Scarlett.

After they left the Dungeons, they continued to walk in a hurried footstep until the main atrium from the main door of Hogwarts castle.

"What the heck Drake…you almost killed us with all this running," said a student.

"Let's…say that…Snape…right now must be…pissed...hahaha!" replied a Drake panting and laughing together with Scarlett.

"What did you do?" asked Katie.

Drake didn't reply to her and instead changed the topic.

"Well guys you can go eat first, I need to go to the dorms. Save a spot for me…and don't kill each other…probably we will see her a lot more" said Drake looking at Scarlett and Katie.

After that he didn't wait for their replies and went to the dorms, he needs it to go to his suitcase and feed his friends and see those two items he took out of the closet.

Before Drake could go to the entrance where the Fat lady painting was Peeves appeared in front of him laughing.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I never saw so much anger in my life HAHAHAHAH!"

"Why the hell are you telling me that, I didn't do anything" replied Drake

"Oh c' mon! Do you think I'm dumb, I know it was you who put the dung bomb in Snape secretary…Hahahaha! Just to warn you that he is very, very pissed and went to headmaster office and has been there until now. You are in a lot of trouble, boy, I want to see what they will do to you hahaha!"

"I don't know, what you are talking about…I didn't do anything and even if I did, there are no proofs about it."

"Hahahaha! Boy, you are too young and naïve. Well, I just come to tell you that and also you own me because that bloody guy is after me. He thinks it was me that put the dung bomb and wants revenge. I just hope that you survive this and one more time congrats!!" Said Peeves before he left.

"Oh well fuck it…I will deal with it when it comes" thought Drake as he arrived at the Fat Lady.

"Audaces Fortuna Iuvat!"

"The password is correct, you may enter," said the Fat Lady.

"Thanks!"

Drake went to in and after climbing the stairs he entered the boy dorms. He opened his suitcase a got inside of it.

After he got in, Drake was received by a cat and dog. Z went to him in his small for and land on his shoulder while rubbing his head on his face as his long tail coiled around Drake's neck in a gentle away. Star jumped into his arms and the three heads started to lick him all over his face which Z didn't like it and both started a small fight.

"Stop it guys, now go and call Jade and Greenie out for me. I need to see a few things," said the boy to the two female beasts after a few more time playing with them.

Drake saw that the two of them went away took out the hat, the book, and the old beaker from the pendant. The beaker was surrounded by ancient runes and Drake could only understand a few. After a while, he could only read "Bartholomew" and "cursed vaults".

He then looked at the book and saw it belongs to a Jacob, he started to read about it and it seems it was about the cursed vaults and had a lot of notes on it.

"Well, it seems both things are connected…interesting, very interesting" thought Drake. Before he could continue, he was interrupted by four beasts who ran in his direction.

"Okey, I will continue later…let's go, guys!"

Drake played with jade and Greenie before he transformed all the beasts into small normal kitties which he put them on his hat before leaving his suitcase. He left the dorm and instead of going to the great hall, he went outside to Hagrid's hut. He went through the longest path and avoided people since he didn't want to be discovered by anybody.

He arrived at Hagrid's hut shortly since he didn't bump into anyone, Drake knocked on his door, which was opened by Hagrid.

"Hey uncle, how are you?" asked Drake as he entered the hut.

"Hi, Drake…how 're you doin'? I'm good…but I think you're in trouble" replied Hagrid after he closed the door.

"Oh…its nothing uncle…they don't have proofs. By the away can you take care of these four guys until the end of the classes?" asked Drake by dismissing the concern looked of Hagrid and looking at the four kittens.

"What…you're not jokin', are you? You know very well that Dumbledore has forbidden' these fellows inside Hogwarts!" said Hagrid after looking to the four kittens.

"Oh…c'mon Uncle…I know you are rising Fluffy in the forest…you could take them on the walk too, they will love it and they like you…and you are the best beast caretaker in the world" said Drake doing puppy eyes together with the four beasts.

"Oh…alrigh' but if they don't behave…I'll tell your dad about it."

"Nice!!! Okay, guys, you heard uncle, let's go outside."

They walked outside into the forest and Drake dispelled the transformation spell and the four beasts got back to their former forms.

"Now, you need to behave and obey to uncle…if you don't, you will be punished," said Drake in a serious tone.

All the beast nodded at him and then Hagrid brought them to where fluffy was. Drake went with him and patted Fluffy and gave one more warning to the beasts.

Drake said goodbye to his beasts, Fluffy and Hagrid before he went back to Hogwarts, but Z went after him and didn't leave him after all the talking. So, Drake transformed him into a normal cat and left it on his shoulder.

He went directly into The Great Hall, when he arrived there in one of the tables there were Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin students sitting together in a very tense atmosphere (Katie, Cho, and Scarlett). Before he could sit with them Z ran off.

"Damm it Z...I will have a serious talk with you next time" thought Drake before he greets his friends.

"Hey, guys sorry for the delay…hey Cho…" said Drake when he arrived at the table.

"Hi Drake, did you miss me?!" replied Cho in a teasing tone, which Drake only smiled to her before winking.

"So, what's up?! Why this atmosphere?! C' mon ladies, we may be from different houses but that doesn't mean we can't be friends," said Drake.

"Yeah!? Right as if we could be friends with Slytherin guys…" responded Katie sarcastically.

"Well, you can befriend with Ravenclaw, but you can't with Slytherin?! If that was the case, why would we have classes together? Or the teachers would separate us if they saw us all here together?" answered Drake.

"Yeah, I agree with Drake," said Cho.

"Me too, only you Gryffindor students don't seem to like us" commented Scarlett.

"Now let's get some digging and see if we have some free time," said Drake while Katie started to sulk.

All of them started to eat together and Drake saw that no one has noticed the cat yet and also all the boy was looking at him since he was the only boy surrounded by girls of different houses.

But that would change soon since two twins entered while laughing and they looked to all the table until they found their target.
