Why me?

"Already 5?! Dang it!"

I look at my 15 missed alarms and the time on my phone.

"I'm gonna be late! Dumbo, why didnt you wake me up!?"

My brother stares at me and grins. "You were talking about someone you hated in your sleep, so I didn't wake you." He looked me up and down.

"Oh. Ya like my look?" I roll my eyes. " It's called 'my brother didnt wake me up so now I look like an idiot'."

"I love it! Now, It's 5:30..." My brother glances at his watch. " Better get go-"

"I'm going mom, don't worry." I say as I smack him on the head with my phone.

I shut the door, chuckling to myself. I walk to the other end of our house and jump over our neighbor's, Mrs. Swimples, fence and run so the security cameras don't catch footage. (New school, No more Adyline White.) I thought as I turned a corner to arrive at 'Lenagards High School for Suck-ups'.

I scoff as I walk past a red-haired boy in a school uniform. It was the Student Council President.

"Good morning, Maddy!" He waves.

"Good MoRnInG Reese. And It's Jess." I remind as I notice that the bell would ring in about 5 minutes.

"I have to go! Have a nice day Reese!".I shout behind my shoulder as I speed-walk to the first class of the day. Biology.

I shuffle in, and noticed a seating chart on the Teachers desk. I eye the paper for my name and find it on the far side on the paper. Seat 26. I walk to my seat, shove my phone in my pocket, and sit.

As the seats, slowly get filled with random people, I notice That nobody's coming to sit next to me.(Maybe they're absent.) I thought as my Teacher cleared his throat.

"As you all know by now, There are multiple rulers in our country, but only 2 have children. And we have the pleasure of teaching one of those children." He points to the door, and welcomes in a blonde girl with blue eyes into the room.

(Hold on, I KNOW HER! Adyline White! What's she doing here?)

"This, students, Is Adyline White. She comes from a long line of royalty. Now, Mrs. White, Could you please sit next to....." He scrolls through the seating chart as I eye the empty seat next to me.

(Please don't sit here, Please don't sit here.)

"...Jessica Morrison in seat 27, please. She's all the way in the back." He points at me, and she slowly walks next to me and takes a seat. ( Oh no. Why me?)
