Chapter 5: Welcome to Tower Academy (5)

Perseus POV

"Currently, on the list, there is a nickname that was put on there last year, no one know who they are." Craig lectured "All we know is their nickname, even the other members of the top 13 don't know the person, despite the fact the the tower will have a date once per year where they will summon them all together in one place, the identity of 'Weaver of Calamity' is completely unknown. Yes, Acacia, you have a question?"

"What about the Mirage Legion?" She asked "2 member of the rankers are confirmed to be from this clan, number 3 being one of them, are we sure that they're not lying?"

The Mirage Legion, a clan of mysterious raiders whose goals unknown to many people for many years, they haven't done anything bad in particular, but not anything good either. A clan that is comparable in strength to the top 10 clans, but they aren't on the list since members of this clan is officially registered, the clan itself isn't officially registered by the tower.

Opinions are mixed about this clan, some say they just want to oppose the tower itself and would use their presence to prevent anyone from completing it or the other is that they're secretly gathering elites to be the first ones to complete the tower, which can be backed up by the fact that 2 of the top 13 being confirmed as being their members.

"Of course." Craig answered "The rankers in this meeting doesn't lie to each other, the identity of the best raider is completely unknown, not even the individual threat level."

"But isn't there a similar case of this happening before?" Lia chimed in

"It has, extra credit for you." Craig nodded "There has been a few cases where the tower just make the number one a total sham and the 13 gods have admitted it themselves. There would be no one as the number one, but the tower would create a fake nickname till there will be someone who they are satisfied to take that place, so currently we can safely assume the best raider is number 2 for now, the thunder saint."

Saint Elliot Noblesse, his nickname also has the word 'saint' in it, the author sure is lazy to come up with a nickname for that guy, he's already a saint for one of the gods, why the hell does he need the name saint in the nickname.

After more lectures, he gave us more time to associate with each other and the class got a bit noisy again.

"How did you catch those books?" Lia asked "They were quick, the first one was to wake you up, but the second one was his full strength of a veteran, it would would have seriously hurt us."

"Healing magic is very useful don't worry."

"Oh, you can use healing magic?"

"Yeah, not a lot of support raiders lately, that's why they're paid a lot, sometimes even more than their own clan leader. I thought you can do the same."

"I can." she nodded "You have bag under your eyes, did you seriously not get any sleep? Were you really looking forward to today?"

"Hell no, I just want to sleep in class and besides, I hate school. Academy or not, the next 3 years is going to be boring."

"Well you can always just start to climb right now, it's just the death rate of a graduate or at least a 1st year dropout compared to those reckless ones is at least 10 times lesser." she shrugged

"You remind me of your dad. I like you, Lia. Don't know why your dad kept me away from you, we easily get along, you want to be my partner?"

Cordelia POV

"Are you asking me out?"

"What? Do I look like a guy who just ask anyone out?" He asked

"So you just want me to team up with you without having any ulterior motives? That sounds a bit too good to be true, no?"

"Well I can always tell your father that I tried."

"You're not going to be persistent? You can easily use my father as an excuse and I won't even blame you for it."

"I just met you today, why would I?"

"Well why not, you have anyone else in mind in case we need a party of 4 or 5?"

"Yeah, you don't have to worry about that, though by agreeing, it means that you're willing to be a duo with me."

"My father trusts your talents and so I will trust his judgement in you."

"That's a lot of faith you have in your father right there, alright wake me up when it's lunch time, partner."

He then went back to sleep, and he isn't even pretending either, he's really sleeping. A person more talented his sister, a mage who's the 3rd in command of one of the top 30 guilds, a person who became a named in her early 20s right out of the academy...duo, trio, or even solo, this person is going to become one of the best raiders to have existed.

Later that day, after lunch in the cafeteria, students are to meet up on the 8th floor, the hunting floor, apart from the tower in the middle of a large open green field, it's packed with dense forest, my brother said that there's an invisible barrier made by the tower to keep wild beats at bay.

This may be be a tutorial floor but if you go into that forest deep enough in the right spots, there are chances that there are monsters that only a named can go against, the reason is that the monster would bein a tutorial is to show how powerful they are and to teach people to be more careful.

The reason why they call this the hunting floor is pretty simple, because as you climb the tower, there may be times where you are forced to hunt for food to survive, so after a month, every student is taught to hunt for their own food. So people would hunt for beasts or harvest plants food at the start of the forest.

As we are gathered in the open grass field, all of a sudden, this large coliseum of some sorts erupted out of the ground and we got warped into the arena onto our seats.

"Welcome to Tower Academy." A person announced loudly
