Gravity Basics

Lamar showed her around the base. The watchtower was very large, and he didn't even have access to most of the rooms. He showed her what he could. Which were the gymnasium, indoor pool, lounge, and the league's gravity Chamber. He heard from Blue Beatle that superman used the room once and was able effortlessly withstand its highest level which was around 10,000g's of force.

Lamar was not allowed to use the gravity room but was itching to see how much G's of force his Daxamite body could handle compared to Superman's Kryptonian body. He also wanted to use the room to train his Gravity Manipulation. Recently he had a breakthrough in his power. He could attract and repel objects to him.

The weight of the objects doesn't matter in the slightest because with his gravity manipulation he set their weight to almost zero and used the gravitational pull to push and pull things around. Since he can change the gravitational force of anything.

He tried it on himself and it worked he could lower his gravity making him float above the ground or raise it making him stick to the ground like a pillar. It was kinda hard for him to move when he inflated the amount of power and that was saying something because he was able to knock a blob through a mountain.

Snapping himself out of his thoughts was Megan's constant barrage of questions. She enjoyed the tour of the watchtower very much and they started walking back to the hanger. On their way back to the hanger Megan kept looking up at Lamar but would quickly look away. Seeing this repeat for the fifth time Lamar was getting annoyed

"What is it?" asked Lamar.

"Ah it's nothing I just wanted to ask something but I don't want to offend you," answered Megan playing with her hair.

"Bruh just ask me,"

"You said you are an alien like me right what species are you?" Megan gave up and asked while looking up towards.

Lamar stopped walking scratched his neck and answered

"Uh, I'mma Daxamite from the planet Daxam but I have no memories of that place. What about you?"

"What do you mean?"

"What's Mara like?" Answered Lamar

Megan also stopped walking and faced Lamar. She played with her hands for a bit. From Lamar's perspective, it looked like she trying to formulate something to say.

"Mars isn't that fun and it's very boring. I grew up with many siblings and spent most of my time helping my parents." Replied Megan.

Lamar noticed she wasn't very comfortable with the question and when she mentioned her siblings her eyes shifted off to the side. Making Lamar believe there was more to the story than what she was letting on. He didn't push it. Wasn't his business and he was too lazy to ask about it.

He wanted to change the topic.

"Why did you come to earth?" asked Lamar while pulling her forward to start walking again.

She fidgeted at the physical contact but quickly started walking again.

"Well about that…" she started her sentence but then mumbled under her breath.

"About what? I can't hear you when mumble nah. Your uncle looked mad when he first walked out of the Bioship what did you do?" Asked Lamar showing off his pearly whites

Seeing his playful grin Megan's eyes bolted in the opposite direction. She couldn't explain it but his voice and smile made her nervous but in a good way. She couldn't read his mind no matter how many times she tried however she can still feel the mental waves he projects and they give off a very calming aura. She can't say she hates it.

"I tried to sneak on my uncle's ship but I was found out," Megan replied while she was thinking and immediately covered her mouth with one of her hands but the words already slipped out.

"Haha, bruh no wonder you got caught you tried to hide from a telepath." Hearing what she said made Lamar laugh a little.

Megan's face instantly turned red.

'Hello, Megan! that was dumb of you!' she internally thought to herself.

Lamar laughed a bit harder when he saw her cheeks become a little pinker. It made him want to joke around more. He found it strange she was short and petite but quite strong when he pushed her forward a while back he would have made any normal human fly through the air and possibly break a couple of bones but she didn't seem affected at all.

'Martians are quite strong she is not as strong as Martian Manhunter but nothing to look down on.' Lamar thought to himself while observing the girl. They eventually reached the hangar doors.

Before the doors opened up Lamar closed his eyes and felt inside of the hanger he only felt one gravitational pull from inside so he was thinking that meant only one person. He was trying to test if he could use gravitational manipulation to sense people and objects around him since everything had a gravitational pull.

The two metal doors slid open revealing only Martian manhunters figure near the Ship. The two teens walked toward him.

"Did you enjoy your tour Megan?" asked j'onn in an even tone.

"Yes I did uncle j'onn"

"Good, I have something very important to ask you," stated Martian Manhunter in a more serious tone

"Yes, uncle j'onn," replied Megan she was interested in what he had to say in the short time she has known him he never got serious like this.

"Would you like to join a team the league is forming? This would allow you to meet and work together with people around your age. However, you would have to follow strict rules if you decide you want to join. This is not a game." Answered Martian Manhunter in a deep tone.

A short silence enveloped the room while Megan thought about her choice. She wanted to meet new people and make finally make some friends and this was a golden opportunity for her. How could she possibly turn this down?

"I would love to uncle." She replied with a bright smile. She suddenly thought of something and turned towards Lamar before looking back at Martian Manhunter.

'Can Lamar join the team too? I'm sure he would be a good fit he is strong from what I have noticed' she spoke directly to Martian Manhunters' minds with her powers.

"Lamar has already joined the team he will stay here while the Secret sanctuary is being rebuilt and will meet with the rest of the team on April 4th however I will be teaching you about earth customs so you won't be staying here for long."

Lamar didn't know they were having a telepathic conversation without him. He was focused on what had just happened moments prior he had used his power to sense the location and number of people in the hanger. He guessed only one and he was right. This made him very excited. His race was very strong already and having Gravity manipulation made life a lot easier.
