146 143 Overdue Exit

Staten Island, New York, September 11th, 09:11.

Once more, I may have gotten slightly carried away again.

I can hardly be blamed though, from the kinky sex with Clara to the 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 kinky sex with Billy, suffice it to say that I have been rather distracted from what I originally came here for.

But, like all things, the fun stopped being so much fun after a while.

If I were to be completely honest, I would curse how easily I bore, but on the other hand, if I did not bore so often, then I would likely never experience so many new and interesting things.

It is a conundrum.

A soft groaning brings me out of my thoughts, and I turn my attention to the woman lying atop me, using my breasts as pillows.

I'm still not sure if what I'm feeling is love. It's certainly not anything like what I felt with Billy, all that time ago.

With him, it was intense, 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭. A moment in time that can never be replaced nor replicated, like an explosion, kaleidoscopic in nature yet still coming to an end far too soon.

But what I feel with Clara is, while far less intense, it is more 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵. Being with her, it is not an explosion of warmth, but the gentle heat of the sun, warming me every day.

So, I don't know what I'm feeling. Either way, I don't mind it.

With a soft smile on my face, I lightly blow on her face, pushing her curly chestnut locks out of her face with the soft breeze. She scrunches slightly, a natural response to the wind on her eyelashes, yet that simple expression entrances me, if only for a moment.

But as with all good things, this too must come to an end, and her eyelids flutter, slowly opening as her body shifts slightly in waking.

I stroke her back softly as she wakes, enjoying the way the sun shines over her body through the large window behind the bed as she leans up, our blanket dropping from her shoulders down to her waist, giving me a good view of her fit body.

Sitting there, straddling me, Clara eventually escapes her morning grogginess, and when she does, I reach my arm that isn't on her back forward to brush some hairs our of her face.

She leans into my touch.

That is, until she notices the police grade cuffs still attached to my wrists from last nights activities, even if the chain has long been broken, and immediately blushes up a storm, falling back forwards to hide her face in my chest.

I can't help the smile at her actions, and I let out a soft chuckle, choosing not to say anything in favour of just enjoying the moment.

Eventually, she calms her self enough to shuffle forward, leaning up until her face is resting right on top of my own, whereupon she gives me a chaste kiss on the lips, smiling in fond exasperation as she feels my hands fall to her ass in response.

I just give her another kiss in response.

Then, the mood suddenly changes, and Clara looks me in the eyes with a sad and resigned frown. Already I know what she will say, but I wait until she does so anyway.

"Do you really have to go?" She asks, knowing that I am planning to leave today. She already knows the answer, she just doesn't want to accept it.

Reaching forward, I plant another kiss on her soft lips, and hug her close to me, touching our foreheads together as I whisper to her. "You know me, Clara. Better than most. I can't stay."

I am a free spirit. I need excitement. Adventure. I need to experience new things.

It's simply my nature, and she knows this. Which is why she doesn't bother trying to fight it.

I know her well enough that I can tell the exact moment she thinks about asking to come with me, only to stop as she figures out the answer by herself.

The simple fact of the matter is that even if I wanted company, she is simply too weak to follow me.

"At the very least, I'm only going to leave once I get out of bed," I say, getting her attention, as well as her blushing once she sees the salacious smirk on my face, "so perchance you may be able to, I don't know, distract me?"

Her lips smashing against my own, tongue invading my mouth, is answer enough.

Staten Island, New York, September 11th, 13:49.

After a long, 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 morning, here I am, sipping on my coffee as I watch Mimi finish her breakfast, which was prepared for her by Maddie, who is in turn watching Sam, who is playing the newly released GTA IV.

He's only really been driving around, since it's not like Mimi is going to get any entertainment from watching him virtually murder hookers, since a game can't really compare to real life, and she's done it all with the Nine.

But soon enough Mimi is done with her food and I am done with my drink.

Welp, time to finally stop procrastinating.

It might even actually be interesting, since Mimi's friend is supposedly a member of Faultline's Crew, a new group of mercenaries, or 'villains-for-hire' as the news likes to put it.

Now, that wouldn't really be interesting on its own, especially with how fresh they are, fresher than 𝘮𝘦 even, which is just wild to think about. That I've actually been in the business long enough that I'm no longer new to it.

Crazy how time flies.

But they could end up being interesting, because I've read up on them, and even if they are new, they seem to be off to a rather impressive start.

Especially since there's only four of them, half of whom are Case 53's, and while I don't hold anything against them, it is a simple fact that having such a high ratio of Case 53's can only be a detrimental thing.

For one, they can't exactly blend in, what with them being so 'monstrous' and for another thing, Case 53's appear randomly and without any fucking memories, so you'd have to deal with people who don't know jack shit about the world.

Good for manipulating them I guess, but bad for hoping that they'll have any kind of competency.

But, I wouldn't think it could be interesting if that were all. See, not too long ago, just before they moved to Brockton actually, Faultline's Crew actually beat Chevalier and Myrddin in a fight in Philly, which is an impressive feat.

Of course, they then immediately ran away to the shithole known as Brockton like pussies, but the point stands.

And so, I get to my feet and clap my hands, bringing everyone's attention to me, and inadvertently causing Sam to mow down a half dozen people and crash into a lamppost.

"Welp Mimi, time to go see Elle,~" I say, only mostly sure that her friend's name is actually Elle.

Mimi, being Mimi, only raises her eyebrows slightly in response before simply getting up and walking over to me. "Okay," she says, but I ignore her in favour of turning to the two lovebirds.

Only Mimi wasn't aware that we were leaving today, and that's just because I wasn't sure if she'd throw a tantrum and burn the house down because of me taking my time with Clara.

"You've done a good job taking care of her and the house, and I honestly can't remember if I already paid you, or if I even offered anything extra for doing so, so I'll just give you another bonus anyway. The house will be all yours until I decide otherwise, but I'll probably be staying elsewhere anyway. So yeah, enjoy yourselves, don't destroy the house or I'll eat you alive, and you better have fucked on every surface when I next see ya!~"

Of the two of them, only Sam brushes off my death threat, focusing instead on the more fun parts, which is why I like Sam. Maddie though, she both pales under the threat and blushes under the not so subtle implications, which makes for an interesting combination if nothing else.

"We'll uh, get on that, I guess," Sam says, getting a glare from his girl in response.

With that done, I place a hand on Mimi's shoulder and leave the house, taking the keys for my supercar on the way. As we get in the car, I take note of my bike as we walk past it.

I had to get it delivered, again, and now I'm going to be leaving it here. At least this time I'm planning on actually coming back for it. I'll even leave the keys to the car for Sam.

Now, time to get back to doing all the stuff I've been putting off doing.

Well, to be fair I've done most of it, I just need to deliver Mimi and chat with that guy who wants to join, then I'm all done, I think.

There was also that thing with Vendor, but Crawler, I mean, fuck, Cerberus ended up handling that instead, so I don't have to bother.

Which is something I am incredibly happy about by the way, because it shows that it is 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨. My Clowns are helping each other all without me having to do anything anymore.

Soon enough, probably within the next two to three months, my Clowns will be big enough that they would still be a major force even if I suddenly disappeared, not that I have any plans on doing so, but the thought makes me smile.

It should probably take about an hour and a half to two hours to get to Brockton, but I'm thinking I can get it down to one hour with enough speeding.

You know what?

"Mimi, if it takes us longer than an hour to get to Brockton, I'll give you the car."

There, now I have no choice.

Fun fact, being that I am legally 'deceased,' I technically can't be charged for any crime, such as speeding. Obviously, whether or not they could legally charge me doesn't really matter, because it's not like I'm just going to accept any punishments.

But, it means that when I pull into Brockton going way beyond the speed limit and with about a half dozen cars chasing me with their blazing sirens. I can just pull over, happy that I made it with just three minutes to spare, and when one of the dutiful officers comes to my window and sees Mimi and I, I can just smile and explain to them this little technicality, and they will simply let me go.

Obviously, the actual reason they'd just let me go is because they saw my face and recognised me, I've decided to dye my hair back to the blonde it was before, but it's not as good as it was natural so I'll probably change it again.

The fact that they technically don't have any grounds on which to legally arrest me is nothing more than an excuse, so that they have a reason to back off.

Part of me thinks that the PRT are actually being super smart and that this is the point of my kill order not being revoked, no matter how many people vouch for me, for whatever fucking deluded reason.

Because if I didn't have a kill order, they would have to arrest me, in which case their choices are either to betray their oath, or to die, because obviously I'm not going to let some boring mortal arrest me.

I've been trying to find a nice term for normals that isn't, well, normals. Because that's too boring, but mortals feels like it would only be fun when I'm purposefully being over the top.

Eh, whatever.

What matters, is that I am finally in Brockton Bay, so let's find us a nightclub baby!

=================

A/N: He~llo! Dear readers!

Fun fact! 9/11 never happened in this world, since there was no need for the american government to fabricate an over the top war against terrorism for the sake of their own imperialistic deigns, since there's already plenty of villains for them to, quite literally, villainise. This fun fact has no relation to anything written in this chapter.

Next chap featuring the palanquin or however that is spelt. I'm gonna have to look it up, but I think I got it right.

also, I installed opera (browsing site) after procrastinating on it a lot, and I won't do some youtuber add and say it's amazing or anything, but I'd still recommend, cuz it comes with free addblockers and you can get other extensions, the most important one being that my curser now has a squiggly line following it around.

There's another one that lets you put your own images into what follows your curser around, and I fully plan on making it so that hentai follows my cursor every time I move it, cuz that's feakin hilarious
