Someone Died?!

Xie Ai stared at the little ghost in his arms. The latter's body was too pale as his arms and legs were covered with purple bruises filled with dried up mucus. Even the little kid's face was injured as veins seemed to be popping on his neck, making the little guy look like a little zombie.

The only thing that's different from his ex was his hair color. He knew the man had permanently dyed his hair grey back then to change his identity and even made some changes to his face. But even then, he could still recognize the other even with his eyes closed.

His eyes had no hint of life, and even pupils seemed to be invisible at the moment. The more Xie Ai stared, the more his heart sank to the bottom of the ocean.

He could feel the kid's cold body pressing against him, sending a shiver down his spine.

Xie Ai didn't dare to move. Since he had no problems with seeing things up close, he could notice the little ghost's small details. If this kid were standing not far away, he would have mistaken the ghost with a human.

At last, the traces of fear within Xie Ai's heart kicked in as he trembled from head to toe. His face also paled as his lips parted and closed. Not a single word rolled out of his throat.

The kid also tilted his head and asked again in an emotionless tone, "What happened? Why don't you answer me?"

Xie Ai felt his soul had left his body seeing a ghost up close. Even though he was a cultivator back in his original world, ever since he came here, he had realized that he didn't feel a single trace of energy running through his veins. So he was a 100% mortal here, and he clearly didn't want to die.

No matter what happened to him, he didn't want to die. Even a crazy heartbreaking event a few months ago where his ex died tragically by his own hands wasn't enough to make him want to die.

No, he couldn't continue to think about that event for the sake of his own sanity, but he couldn't help but remember that person. Of course, if he said he was over that man, he would be lying. It had only been a few months since his ex's death. How could he reconcile what had happened to him?

He was treated like a little flower by his entire family throughout his life. They all made him their prince, spoiling him to death. Even that person would spoil him to death.

Such a perfect boyfriend turned out to be a fake. Who could reconcile with such a thing?

Xie Ai felt a hint of pain throbbing in his heart. Then he shook his head.

No, he shouldn't think about it anymore!

He glanced at those emerald green eyes of the little ghost and pursed his lips.

It could be that those eyes looked strikingly similar to his ex's as if this ghost gouged those eyes from that person and used it.

The ghost finally couldn't take it anymore as the little kid tilted his head and pressed his little, cold hands against Xie Ai's chest, frowning deeply as if thinking of something. "Are you afraid?"

Xie Ai continued to stare down at the little kid without blinking. His face was paler than usual as his heartbeat turned faster. His teeth also clattered against one another, creating a sound.

The little kid had an expression as if something dawned on him. "Oh, you're cold! I'm sorry, I didn't realize it…. You see, my body always tends to remain cold. Am I bothering you?"

Xie Ai wanted to shake his head and nod at the same time, but he couldn't move, staying frozen on the bed.

But the little kid clearly didn't realize that he was making a certain white-haired man extremely frightened. He even raised his hands and played with those long strands of frizzy white hair. "Hmm… your hair also looks messy. Didn't you wash it recently?"

Xie Ai wanted to cry. He wanted to yell at this ghost, 'Stop touching me and kill me, damn it! Why don't you act like a ghost?!'

The kid pouted and looked sad as he said, "Big brother, say something…. I really like you…. Can you let me sleep with you?"

Xie Ai finally opened his mouth and stuttered out a few words, "W-why do you want to sleep w-with me?"

"Because I'm afraid, and you're the only person who makes me feel at ease." The kid spoke as if he didn't know he was a little ghost. "So, can I sleep with you?"

Xie Ai couldn't say a single word after that. After a moment of staring at the ghost with a pale face, he became so frightened that his eyes rolled back and he fainted.

The kid tilted his head, climbing out of the blanket. He raised his fingers, touching the man's soft cheeks. Then he muttered under his breath, "So warm…." He even pinched the man's cheeks.

"Sigh." The little kid pursed his lips. "I really am afraid. What should I do?"

Those words echoed into the darkness as his body dispersed. The blanket fell to the top of Xie Ai's body as he slept on the bed. The room went into utter calmness as if that ghost had never been present.

The quiet of night spread in all the rooms. There were seven rooms in total, with one of them having only two players sleeping inside peacefully.

Time passed quickly as raindrops kept pouring down the sky, fully covering the entirety of Earth. In that quietness of the sky rang an ear-piercing scream that sent a shocking alarm down everyone's hearts.

Almost all of them woke up with a jolt, especially Xie Ai, who seemed to have just gotten to sleep. He was in a daze as he remembered how he had ended up sleeping last night. He immediately checked his blanket as his heartbeat increased rapidly.

Only when he saw there was no one did he calm down. Of course, he couldn't remain completely calm as there was a handprint on the side of his chest where the heart was there. The handprint seemed to be made out of mud and something sticky that even he couldn't tell what.

Xie Ai's breathing spiked up as a second ear-piercing scream went up the heavens, and it was his own vocal cords that rolled out such a scream.

Xiao Min, who was sleeping on the upper bunk with his lover, opened his eyes and grumbled, throwing his own pillow at the bottom that went on, hitting right on Xie Ai's face.

"What are you screaming for?"

From the outside, even others started banging on the door.

"What happened?"

"Did someone else die?"

Xiao Min's beautiful red eyes narrowed. "Died?"

This is a sequel to MEWS, but, at the same time, it's also a stand alone novel. Of course, chances are that you'll surely get some MEWS spoilers here, but it doesn't matter. I want to write this novel!
