1 The Family's Disgrace

From the day he was presented as an Omega, Sihyun's "comfortable" life came to an abrupt end.

Sihyun's Alpha father is the CEO of one of the biggest multinational company in South Korea and was considered as the elite among elites. His mother, who was also an alpha, came from a family of renowned musicians. His dominant Alpha younger brother with exceptional abilities in almost all regards, was the pride of their parents. Sihyun, who was still not presenting as an Omega back then, was being treated as a dust since he was still not presenting at the age of 12, when most people, including his younger brother, already had their subgender revealed at the age of 10.

At his 13th birthday, Sihyun developed an unusual high fever and was sent to the hospital only when one of the maid discovered he was short of breath and was a lot paler than usual. At that time, his parents and his younger brother, Jaehyun, were going on a vacation to celebrate his victory as the first winner of the Biology olympiad.

"You are well aware that you are the disgrace of the family, right? You must hide the fact that you're and Omega for the rest of your life."

That was what Sihyun's father said when the sick Sihyeon was still having a high fever laying in the hospital bed.

Abandoned by his parents since his brother was known to the world as a dominant Alpha, Sihyun was not surprised by what his father said. Being a late bloomer and an Omega was a sin in a family full of Alphas.

"You can't go to the same school with your brother. I've already arrange your school transfer."

It did not matter for the thirteen years old Sihyun at all. He did not have any friends in the school. Everyone keep comparing him to his brother all the time. In the country's number one of elite private school, you have to be exceptionally talented in all matters to survive. Sihyun only had his rich family and his dominant Alpha brother's reputation, he was nothing at all.

"You will transfer to Hanyang Academy, and you will also attend the high school there. Ask Uncle Kim if you need anything, you will live in the same apartment building as him."

At the name of the school and the mentioned of Uncle Kim, Sihyun was being taken aback for a bit. Hanyang was one of the elite private schools in Bucheon. He thought his father would send him to an unknown public school, but it seemed that his father was still afraid of tarnishing their family's reputation if news of the prestigious Alpha family had one of his sons went to a public school were to be spread.

Honestly, Sihyeon had never met this Uncle Kim. He just remembered him being one of his father's subordinates. It's not like he could protest anyway, but he still felt a litle nervous being away from his home in Seoul and living on his own. Well, he basically was already living alone being ignored by his family, but he still had his personal maid that sometimes talked to him.

"You can still use the black card, and I will still sent you your monthly allowance. I don't care what you do with the money. Just never mentioned who your family are, especially your younger brother, if you still want to live a comfortable life."

The last line made Sihyun chuckle a bit amidst his high fever. Comfortable life? He did not remember the last time he had a comfortable life. Surely, being compared to his brother and living like a ghost all the time were not a comfortable life at all.

Sihyun's chuckle made his father's blood boil, however he was not a fan of physical abuse and they were still at the hospital. What would the public say if he were abusing his own child?

"Do you understand?" barely keeping his emotional state checked, Sihyun's father was unaware that he was releasing a strong Alpha pheromones.

A Beta nurse, who was going to enter Sihyun's room to change his IV drip, was trembled in fear until her legs gave out. She then ran with all her might to escape the room full of terrifying pheromones.

"Yes. I understand, father."

After acknowledging Sihyun's cooperation, his father left him alone in the room and shut the door with somewhat a loud bang, making Sihyun flinched.

Sihyun sighed heavily and thought what he will going to do from this moment on. At first, he thought that maybe he can try to excel greatly in his new school to make his parents a little bit proud despite having an Omega son, but then he remembered that there was Jaehyun, who will always reach the top and better at academics than him.

Then, he also thought that maybe he could try to help Jaehyun in something that he didn't great at? The perfect dominant Alpha must have at least one thing that they didn't great at, right? He remembered that his father, mother, and Jaehyun could't write with their left hand, but Sihyun can write in both left and right hand! Well, it's not like Sihyun can write with both hands at the same time, so it's not really that amazing even though Jaehyun always says that it was amazing and he would show off his brother's talent whenever he could in their family's dinner, not that his parents ever care.

Or maybe... what his parents wanted him to do was do absolutely nothing at all. Well, that was what his father was saying to him before he left. Still, he could not accept the fact that as an older brother, he was absolutely useless. Surely, there would something that he was great at, right? It's just he still did not know what it was, right?

Sihyun didn't hate Jaehyun at all, he never had any ill intentions towards him despite being compared all the time. Jaehyun was his sweet little younger brother, who keep apologizing that his parents adored him too much. Even though Sihyun always said that it was not his fault since their parents were overproud Alphas, Jaehyun still felt sad whenever their parents only acknowledge him. Jaehyun knew how hardworking his older brother was, and he despised the fact that their parents never looked at Sihyun for once.

One time, Jaehyun was throwing a tantrum at their parents for not acknowledging his older brother. At that time, Jaehyun would ignore their parents until their parents apologize to Sihyun for ignoring him all the time. His plan was a success since their parents couldn't stand being ignored by their lovely son, so they apologized to Sihyun one time and then acted like they care for him in front of Jaehyun.

Sihyun was extremely happy at first till he couldn't stop smiling, he finally recognized by his parents and would have equal treatment as his brother was!

Then, he realized that it was just an act to make his little brother to not be mad at their parents again. Since then, Sihyun stopped hoping for his parents to have a change of heart.

Sihyun's thoughts had to end since he heard the door to his room was opened once again and revealing the Omega specialized doctor and the scared Beta nurse from before. The doctor was a woman in her mid-fifties. She smiled brightly at Sihyun that it made Sihyun wanted to tear up after experiencing his father's outburts.

"Hello, Sihyun. I'm Doctor Yuna, and here is Nurse Hanna that will also accompany you," Yuna then proceeded to sit in the chair in front of Sihyun's bed. Sihyun nodded in acknowledgment.

After taking notes of Sihyun's conditions and changing his IV drip, Yuna began her explanation.

"You must be so scared for presenting late, right? Don't worry, it's happen to some people and you're completely fine. The fever will be gone by about tomorrow, and what you have to do now is to rest well."

Sihyun released a small sigh. His parents were really overproud Alphas. The doctor just said that nothing's wrong for presenting late! Uh, what was really wrong was that he presented as an Omega, though. If only he was an Alpha.

"Uh, doctor, why am I an Omega? All of my family are all alphas." asked Sihyun. He really wanted to know it since he didn't understand why he was the only Omega in his family.

Yuna's bright smile came into a halt, and were replaced by a sad smile. She experienced this type of question so much in her life as a doctor. It was a truth that Omegas were not discriminated in public as the present laws protected the Omegas from being publicly harassed, but the law couldn't stop the stereotype of an Omega and what was happening behind the back. She felt very sorry that Sihyun had to experience the discrimination at only the age of thirteen.

"It's completely possible if there is an Omega in your father or mother's family. Sihyun, don't worry too much, the laws will fully protect the Omegas. You still have a high fever, focus on resting comfortably okay?" Yuna caressed Sihyun's hair gently and then left the room after seeing Sihyun nodded.

However, it seemed that Sihyun couldn't really rest well because he still have to think what will he do in his new school to make his parents consider him a little bit and he also have to think of a reason to tell his little brother about him moving away.
