Refraction After The Storm
Grey's name undoubtedly described his life perfectly. A life with no color.
When he was born it was not long before his mother abandoned him to escape his abusive father. He grew up with beatings and the words "If only you weren't born..." and "Money is the only thing you're good for" on repeat.
It was this sad life that leads to Grey being uncharacteristically emotionless as survival was the only thing on his mind.
Working, begging on the streets, searching for food, and going to school became his daily routine.
There was only one time when he broke free of this routine and attempted to stray away from his Grey life, but in the end, life left him and he was left to die at the hands of his father.
This was a pitiful, yet anticipated, ending that Grey had imagined for himself.
Grey's cycle of life, however, was not over yet and inexplicably so the memories of his past dreary life followed him.
