Silent Cry

"Are you actually going to fight me?" Brook glanced at the somewhat trembling hands of his opponent. It was only natural that Draco was scared, but his eyes still glimmered with determination.

"Brother..." Mary stood behind her brother, looking at his back with contingency. She didn't want him to get hurt but seeing such confident eyes, words just couldn't come out of her mouth.

"I will defeat you." Draco took the sword into both of his hands, pointing it at the marine. Brook may be trained, but what can he do without a weapon?

Seeing a slight smile appearing on Brook's expression, Draco didn't stand still anymore. He rushed forward at the enemy; the sword being ready to strike at any moment.

"Die!" Draco moved the sword, aiming at the marine's skull. It seemed like some kind of divination. In the blink of an eye, when the sword was about to reach its destination, Brook suddenly dodged to the side.

Draco's gaze followed the figure of his enemy with apparent shock. This kind of speed was just too shocking. How could Brook dodge the weapon that is already so near? Are all marines that fast?

"Damn it!" Due to the ridiculous size of the sword and Draco's lack of muscles, his center of gravity was shifted. Unintendedly, he turned his back to the enemy. A mistake.

Bam!

A kick of incredible power landed straight at Draco's stomach, forcing the weapon out of his hand. The pain was so great that Draco couldn't help but fall onto the ground, panting for at least some air.

"Brother! Are you alright!?" Mary hurried to her brother, giving him a helping hand.

"Go away, Mary! It's dangerous!" Draco's mouth twitched as he pushed his sister away. Seeing Draco's mouth covered in crimson blood, Mary wanted to rush again to help him. However, she decided not to.

It was hard to accept, but she indeed would only be a distraction to her brother. She joined her hands together, looking at the unfolding scene with worry. The only thing she was could do right now... was to emotionally support Draco.

"Your resistance is futile." Brook took the sword in his hand, the same cigarette in his mouth. "If you give up now, I will make sure that Erik doesn't kill you both."

"Shut up, you bastard." Draco retorted back with difficulty, rising from the floor. Tripping many times over, Draco eventually confronted the enemy face to face.

Brook still looked as calm as the tranquil water, not a single hint of concern on his face. It was reasonable since Draco wasn't any kind of threat to him.

"Remember, if either of you gets hurt. It's on your hands." Brook puffed out another cloud of smoke, stepping one stride closer to the distressed Draco. He no longer had the advantage of a weapon. The situation was dreadful.

"No... weapon means nothing." Draco whispered to himself, straightening his back. No longer hesitating, he rushed down the frail floor. "I will defeat you with my bare hands."

Brook chuckled, spitting the cigarette away. The sword moved cleanly, slicing through the air like butter. Draco, running with his eyes stuck out, reacted in time and duck from the attack.

Little did he know that an ambush was awaiting him. A stronger, more solid kick landed upon Draco's face, sending him flying a few feet away. Grains of blood fell from Draco's nose, his head still fuzzy from the hit.

"Your moves are too predictable, that's why you will never win." Brook calmly stated, taking on a scanty grin. Honestly, playing with this kid was quite satisfying, knowing that there is no real threat.

However, it's time to end the show. The storm was coming soon.

"Ahh!!" Roaring at the top of his lungs, Draco charged at the opponent again. Yet all his struggles turned futile. Another punch landed on his face, forcing him to hit against the floor with the back of his head.

"It's a pity I can't end your worthless life." Brook looked at the Draco from above, no sympathy in his eyes. As a few veins popped on the surface of his hand, he jabbed forth.

Draco felt multiple hits settling onto his face, each of them more painful than the last one. His entire face started going numb, blood flying across the air.

"This may alter your price a bit." Brook stopped his hand mid-way, looking at Draco's puffed face with satisfaction. This kid has been annoying since getting on this ship. He had to let out his anger somehow.

"Stop!!" Mary, not able to look at the unfurling scene anymore, hurried towards the marine. Clutching her hand, eyes closed, she struck the marines with all her power. Unfortunately, her lack of muscles and height was enough for Brook to ignore her.

"Are all kids these days so annoying?" Brook glanced at the little girl from above, frustration clear within his expression. With a little move of his bloody hand, Mary was pushed to the ground as well.

"Don't touch my sister!" Draco shouted, one of his eyes not opening. Unfortunately, his willpower wasn't enough to even try to stand up back to his feet, leaving him completely helpless.

"Don't touch my brother! Bad Marine!" Mary rose again, this time, her eyes vividly open. Ignoring the deadly stare Brook was giving her, she punched.

"Maybe I should teach you a lesson as well?" Brook grabbed Mary by her hair, curling her head backward. She couldn't help but look into the spooky eyes of the marine, continuously trying to get away from his clutches.

"Don't you dare do anything to my sister! Basta-" Draco roared, only to get kicked in the face yet one more time. It was, honestly, such a discouraging feeling.

Seeing this picture in front of him, yet not having the ability to do anything about it. It was hard to even keep his eyes open, even at that the vision was blurry.

"Please... stop," Draco begged one last time, noticing the marine sticking the sword into the floor and rising one of his hands up.

"You can hit me as much as you want, just please don't touch her." Draco was even more devastated after seeing a smirk appear on Brook's expression.

Unfortunately, Draco's begging passed through Brook's ears unhindered as his hand moved. At that moment, it seemed as if something clicked within Draco, something he couldn't recognize.

It was power, an unimaginable power that passed through every inch of his body. All the pain had drastically faded away and was replaced with energy and vehemence.

Draco didn't even think twice, jumping back on his feet. Before the marine could even touch a hair on his sister's face, Draco blocked the attack with his hand.

"Huh?" Confusion took Brook's facade over, side glancing at the youth beside him. Just a moment ago he was on a brink of passing out... yet now he was standing right in front of him? What kind of situation is this?!

"You should have never tried to hurt my sister." Draco coldly stated, throwing a solid punch at Brook's face. Unlike before, he felt the coercion within his attack, and the enemy sure did as well. The marine failed miserably to stay on his feet as he shuttled away.

"Brother... what happened to you? Are you alright?" Mary, already away from the danger, asked, as if not recognizing the person in front of him. Unlike before, it felt as if a mountain was standing in front of her, unfrequented and firm. It was just too confusing.

"I don't know Mary. Something has changed." Draco rustled, taking one glance away from the opponent. Unnoticeable, but there was a certain black fulmination surfacing across Draco's hand. It felt as if every instant Draco's nerves were getting energized.

"This power..." Brook slowly stood up from the ground, caressing his hand against the bruise on his cheeks. Actually, it didn't seem like a bruise... more like a burn. "Is that a Devil fruit?"

There was clear fear in the marine's eyes at first, but it was replaced with eagerness a moment later. Seeing the confused expression on the youth's face, it was clear that he didn't understand how to use his powers yet. Besides, the fruit doesn't seem to be logia type.

"Devil fruit?" Draco heard Brook's words, his mind drifting off into memories. His father has mentioned something about fruits granting unimaginable powers to the ones eating them, but Draco always thought it was just a simple joke.

"With such power..." Draco completely removed all the useless thoughts from his head and glanced at the opponent. He may have landed one solid punch, but it was less than enough. Brook looked much more focused and serious this time, the sword being held in two hands.

"Mary, don't get caught up in the fight," Draco said, his back facing the girl. She nodded silently and moved out of the way, still giving Draco a worrying glance.

Draco may have gotten more powerful with the help of this "Devil Fruit", but those injuries were still a major problem. She didn't want him to get hurt anymore, she just wanted this entire situation to finally end.

"Who could have known that you were a Devil Fruit user. You hid it pretty well." Brook breathed out a few times, preparing himself for the battle. This youngster was either walking cash or a deadly threat at the moment. Devil fruits can be considered sacred in the seas of East Blue.

Draco glanced at the marine with disgust as he took a step forward. This black electricity flowing through every inch of his body. It certainly felt as if he could freely control it.

"You will pay for doing this to us." Draco no longer delayed, speeding at the opponent with much more confidence. The injuries around his body were still pulsing, but it was nothing compared to Mary's scared face.

"Are you so confident because you got some powers now? You are still just a kid." Brook quietly answered, gripping his sword with incredible force. As before, Brook began his attack with a clean strike at Draco's head, but the outcome turned out differently from the last time.

Instead of ducking, Draco precisely dodged to the side and shifted his hand behind his back. In his eyes, Brook's every move seemed slow, more than enough time to evade.

Feeling incredible power surging through his body, Draco concentrated on converting it into his palm. Before even realizing it, his intact hand was surging in black electricity, creating a soft whizzing noise.

"What kind of power is that?" Brook asked, taking one step back. This dark electricity within Draco's hands gave off intense pressure. If a punch, infused with this power, landed on the marine's body again... it's hard to tell whether he could continue fighting.

Boom!

Appearing just beside the marine, Draco punched with all the force he assembled. The attack, unfortunately, didn't hit the target, as it landed on the floor.

"Damn it." Draco cursed, retracting his hand away from the shattered floor. This mysterious dark electricity wasn't the only thing that changed within his body. Speed, power, all the senses, everything changed.

Because of this sudden acceleration in his capabilities, Draco couldn't properly control it.

"I have to concentrate... I have to adapt." Draco whispered a few times, locking his gaze at the opponent. Again, his hand got embraced with dark electricity. He was about to rush forward... when something unexpected happened.

Rain. Hundreds of drops started falling from the sky in a second until turning into a storm. Draco's dark hair got soaked in water, yet his gaze didn't move away from the marine for an instant. A few triplets of rain won't make him lose his focus.

"Haha... it is my lucky day..." Brook suddenly chuckled, greed reappearing within his eyes. He would probably lose the fight against this kid if it went on, but the situation has reversed.

Noticing such a bright grimace, Draco couldn't help but grow puzzled. The odds in this fight were clearly against him... so why the hell was he laughing?

Unfortunately, Draco didn't realize that the marine wasn't looking at him. Instead, Brook was concentrated on something happening in the background.

"Brother! Dodge!" Mary suddenly shouted, having seen another person emerge from the ship. Yet, Draco wasn't fast enough to react in time. He heard a loud blast in his ears before feeling a stinging pain in his back.

"Ahhh!" Draco's teeth clamped as he grabbed onto his belly. Cold blood was flowing down his body like a stream, soaking his dark shirt in redness. By inducing the black electricity upon the injury, the pain has somewhat eased up.

"You were right on time...Erik." Brook took out the cigarette, relief clear in his eyes. Erik stood on the other side of the boat, holding a gun in his hand. Most of the marine's body was covered in blood, especially the hands.

"Look at me, you bastard." Erik coldly stated, having the gun loaded again. Killing intent was clear in his angered eyes. "I spent about ten minutes hitting a wooden wall without a halt, to the point that all of my fingers got broken... and all this happened because of you kids."

Draco stood still for a few seconds before turning to the angered marine and breaking the silence. "So what? A marine, who has kidnapped two defenseless kids, is crying because of a few broken fingers? Pathetic."

"What did you say!?" Multiple veins popped on Erik's forehead, his anger turning into madness. Not even thinking twice, he pointed the gun at the barely standing Draco.

"Calm down, Erik! Don't shoot!" Brook immediately threw the cigarette away. He couldn't let Erik shoot again, or else this kid was definitely going to die. They can't let such a cash slip away because of pure anger.

"Mary, hide!" Draco shouted, seeing Erik aiming the weapon at his head. To be honest, Draco himself no longer knew what to do. Because of the various injuries, his body didn't want to move at all. Hiding was the only thing his sister could do to survive.

"No, I won't leave you alone!" Mary answered, not even moving an inch from the spot. Tears were running down her cheeks, later joining with the rain.

Bang!

Erik could no longer control his fury, shooting another bullet out of his gun. At that moment, it seemed as if the time had stopped. Draco could hear the loudness of the shot, he could see the bullet flying at him.

Yet, he couldn't move, nor could he say anything. Standing like that, face to face with death, Draco fell into despair. What a pathetic ending to his life, he couldn't even hold the promise and save his sister.

"Mary... I hope you can escape." Draco said internally before shutting his vision entirely. Different thoughts passed through his head at that flash as he prepared for the upcoming pain. However, even after standing still for a few moments, he felt nothing.

Instead, he heard a soft thud just below him. Considering the slight vibration going through his feet, it seemed as if someone had just fallen on the floor.

"!!!" As soon as he opened his eyes, Draco's expression turned terrifying. Mary, unmoving and coated in blood, was lying on the ground just in front of him. Mary's long hair spread around the floor, blood seeping from under her shirt.

"Mary?" Draco fell to his knees, looking at her face with disbelief. His entire body trembled as he tightly wrapped her hands around her. Dark electricity smeared one of his hands, and he tried to close the injury.

"Wake up, Mary. Wake up." Draco mumbled a few times, hugging her even closer to his body. Draco could feel her body growing colder with each moment, violent rain dropping onto her pale forehead.

"Wake up." Tears formed at the edges of his eyes upon realizing that Mary... was no longer breathing. His dear sister was no longer alive, no longer in this world.

While Draco was spending the last moments with his sister, Brook stood on the side in pure dismay. On other hand, Erik's anger didn't diminish at all. Having loaded another bullet, he was ready to kill the second person on this fiendish night.

"Why... At first, it was my dad... now you are taking away my sister?" Draco placed his sister on the ground, endless tears seeping from his eyes. "Why is everyone in this world so evil?! WHY!"

Together with the heartbreaking shout of the youth, an unimaginable pressure descended upon the two marines. The weapons in their hands fell to the ground, shortly followed by their own bodies.

Fortunately for them, they stayed conscious. Though the headache was unimaginably painful.

"What the hell was that?" Brook asked himself, looking around the perimeter for any changes. Indeed, something felt different. Draco was already standing on his feet, looking above into the peculiar sky.

"I will kill each of you." Draco's eyes lit up with eerie killing intent, as even the angered Erik took a step backward. "You are all dead," he added, incredibly powerful electricity forming around his body, black and empty.

East Blue, Moonlit Island.

Sunlight illuminated its rays upon the entire island, kindling the afternoon. Followed by a sparse breeze, waves descended onto the gravy stones. A few bizarre yet elegant birds flew in groups, their wings caressing through the water.

Despite such heat, something unexplainable was happening. Ice was forming just by the seashore, following the path of the dark-haired man. He was dressed in a rather formal dress, a white vest, and a purple tie.

"I have no idea how you ended up in the middle of the ocean, but you were lucky to have me passing by." The man stated, proceeding to ride his bike towards the island.

On his back, a youngster was laying without consciousness. It was Draco... and he certainly didn't look at his best. His eyelids were purple, lips blue, multiple injuries dispersed around the body.

"We arrived, young man." The man said, the bike disappearing the next instant. "It was nice of you to keep me company for such a long time, but it's time we part ways."

Finishing his sentence, the man threw Draco onto the sand with no remorse. Having already checked up on the injuries of this boy, the man knew there was no danger of him bleeding to death.

"Goodbye, whatever your name is." The man turned around and created another bike of ice. Waiting for nobody, the man promptly took off into the deepest parts of the ocean.

Little did he know that by saving this youngster... he has made a terrible mistake.
