Fuck it, I might as well give you the whole story, and in greater detail mind you. I, Sasaki Yuji, am dead(technically). And I am the narrator of my own story. Let's talk about May 5, the day my life was forfeit.

Sasaki Yuji woke up excited for the first day of his second year of high school. His excitement was complemented by his worn-out mattress, thus he was unable to sleep the night before. He left his room in his family's boarding house,  and hurried to eat his breakfast. Yuji didn't speak to his parents while eating, his disdain for them had gotten the better of him. He disliked how his parents treated him harshly his whole life, and the final nail in the coffin had been delivered recently: He would be left to take care of the family boarding home for the next five years while his parents were away on "business". When Yuji finished eating, he immediately went out the door. He uttered one phrase to his parents. "See you," Yuji said. These were the last words Yuji would speak to his parents for a while.

Yuji was saddened and angered by the mere visage of his parents, and anything that made him think of his parents in the slightest agitated him. As such, Yuji was royally pissed off due to having to see his parents in the flesh. He normally avoided them altogether, except during meal times where it was impossible. After he finished sulking to himself on his bike ride to school, he met up with his childhood friend and romantic interest, Takagi Noriko.

The two had known each other since preschool, and had shared an unbreakable bond until that day. They ate together, played together, and hung out together(and sometimes slept together) almost every day except for the school breaks, when their families are apart. The two were friends, but much closer at the same time. Yuji hadn't seen her while school was out, and was excited to see her again. The conversation started after exchanging pleasantries.

"Hey Yuji, can we go somewhere more private? There's something important I have to discuss with you, and it's better not to be heard by all these people loitering at the school entrance".

Normally someone would hesitate to go anywhere private with someone, but Yuji didn't hesitate because Noriko was his trustworthy childhood friend, and a girl. Yuji followed Noriko to the back of the school, which is almost always clear before school.

"Hey Yuji, how much do you care for me?" Noriko asked with a rather tempting glare and cunning smile.

"I care about you above all other people, that's not something I need to tell you. You know this." Yuji spouts in return. "We've basically lived our whole lives together. We've went to school together, always. We always eat with each other whenever we can. We share everything with each other, we tell each other everything. We share each other's burdens. I've always been there for you, and you've always been there for me. When you were almost taken by that man in Hokkaido and the police just barely made it in time to rescue you, I was the one who was at the police station to comfort you. When my mother almost got sent to jail for beating me that one time, you were there to calm me down. As I see it, we depend on each other. I love how things are, and I don't want things to change."

"Noriko, you must be pretty dense if you haven't figured out that you are above all else in my life." Yuji said with a playful chuckle.

"Then, could you do one thing for me, Yuji?" Noriko retorted. "Sure Noriko, whatever you need. What is it?" He asks.

"Could you-"

"D i e?"

Noriko blurts out the phrase, and steps backwards. Yuji struggles to reply to Noriko's request. "She's Joking," Yuji thought. Those two words were the last he thought. He had lost consciousness. A knife had been put through his throat and jugular. Noriko, cleaning the wound as best as she could, carried Yuji's corpse to the dumpster several minutes later. By the time Noriko disposed of Yuji's body, action had been taken to ensure nobody could tell who or what his remains were. The brutal actions that caused his body to become this way are unknown. As Noriko threw away Yuji's corpse, she gave her parting words.

"I hope one day, if we meet in the afterlife, I can explain myself to you and tell you why I have done what I have done. You truly were special to me, and that's why this was inevitable. I do hope we see each other again."

Noriko shed a small stream of tears from her right eye, her glistening purple hair complimenting the running blood on her right cheek.

"Farewell, my love."

Sasaki Yuji did not hear these words. Takagi Noriko washed her face, and attended the school's opening ceremony by herself.
