13 Escape

Nagato looked around, counting the officers to be at around thirty. Most of the prisoners made their way back into the cells, not wanting to get caught up in turmoil.

"Did you kill him?" The captain of the officers, the one who transported Nagato into Kyln, stepped out of the crowd. Nagato didn't even spare him a glance, silently ripping the sleeve of his orange uniform.

"I asked you a question." The captain uncovered a silvery weapon from his belt, extending it behind his back. Nagato still didn't say a word as he penetrated his fingers into his forearm's skin. A black rod of considerable length unveiled itself from his own body and Nagato took into his grip immediately.

The captain's eyes bulged at the sight, though he was quick to react. Using all his physical power, he descended the blunt weapon at Nagato's neck. No one would keep their sentience if punched firmly in the cervical spine.

"Pathetic," Nagato whispered, easily dodging the attack by taking a step to the side. Captain was caught by surprise by such incredible speed. With his center of gravity altered forth, he accidentally exposed his back to the enemy.

"Feel the pain," Nagato said, looking at the captain, whose expression turned flat, from above. Before any of the officers could stop him, Nagato pierced the captain's heart with his rod. Blood plummeted against the floor, followed by a body in shining yellow armor.

The soldiers in the perimeter didn't shoot immediately, blinking repeatedly as if trying to understand whether they were dreaming. They weren't, unfortunately.

Nagato didn't take the moment of confusion for granted, making multiple hand signs. Barely a minute later, multiple patterns formed all over the prison. Monsters appeared out of nowhere, filling most of the vacancy with their enormous bodies.

"Spread chaos," Nagato ordered as the place plunged into panic. Summons started to kill everyone in sight, not sparing even prisoners hiding in the cells. Officers didn't even know who to focus their attention on, eventually settling to deal with the creatures first.

"What did you do!" some soldiers still centered on Nagato, for they saw him doing some hand signs. Grabbing the black rod, Nagato rushed at the enemies.

They tried to resist his overwhelming power, shooting and launching attacks at him, but it was all just futile. Nagato's weapon penetrated one body after another as more blood was spilled onto the floor. Soon, he was already rushing towards another room, away from the eyes of everyone.

Taking a peculiar card from one of the dead militants, Nagato pressed it against the screen next to the entrance. Three more enemies awaited on the other side of the door, and Nagato killed them mercilessly.

A terrible alarm reverberated through the prison's corridors, though Nagato paid them no heed. He just kept on running and slaying everyone in sight. He already lost count.

Eventually, he reached a door distinctive to others. It was much bigger, clearly leading to a place of somewhat importance. Nagato opened the gates with the card, however, stopped in his tracks immediately.

Hundreds of soldiers appeared on the other side, most of them still bearing no weapons. There was a moment of silence in the air before multiple power bolts were piloted at Nagato.

Nagato extended his hand, pushing immense force forth. "Almighty push." As his words landed, a wave of invisible energy hit the crowd. Cries for help echoed through the vacancy as soldiers hit against each other.

Crimson color painted the floor, yet Nagato remained unfazed. Tens of people died, crushed by the bodies of their subordinates. Despair, anger, pain - all these emotions were steady in the air...it was beautiful.

While the attack still influenced all the enemies, Nagato made his way past them. A bunch of ships, similar to the ones back in that bizarre cave, were stationed all around. Though Nagato was reluctant to use something so alien, he wasn't left with a choice.

After all, breathing in an open space was impossible.

"Hello, mister." Nagato was greeted by a talking device as soon as he took a step onto the ship. "Where would you like to travel?"

Indifferently, Nagato spared a glance at the rear. The soldiers were already gradually standing up, buzzing sinking in their ears. Energy bullets propelled at Nagato, yet he casually engulfed them with his powers.

"Knowhere," Nagato stated as the ship's entrance closed rapidly. The officers were still shouting for help, however, Nagato paid them no more consideration. He had to promptly find that collector and embark on the path to collect all the infinity stones.

The day of his dream coming true was approaching.

-

Thor walked through the corridor leading to his father's chamber, passing multiple golden columns. Artificially delicate drawings painted the walls all around, bringing the greatest of Earth's artists to shame.

Everything was majestic, except Thor's mood. The wounds were still fresh on his stomach, though he cared little about them. Rage boiled within his mind, sparse lightning forming on the edges of his eyes. He could still remember Natasha's desperate face before that monster killed her.

Damn it!

Eventually, Thor reached his father's room. Taking a deep breath, trying to cool off his head, Thor stepped in. Odin rested against the golden throne, his eyes beaming with a noble glow.

"Father." Thor took a knee before his father, focusing his gaze on the ground in shame. "I have failed you. The Tesseract was stolen."

"Stand up, Thor," Odin ordered, his voice echoing through the vacancy multiple times. The air tensed from the pressure, though Thor felt that it wasn't directed at him.

"Everybody makes mistakes. It's the unfortunate destiny of all beings." Odin hauled the release of his power, his cheeks curling into a subtle smile. "At least you brought your brother back. This already puts my heart at ease."

"But the Tesseract is now in the hands of a madman!" Thor retorted, his hands trembling with anger.

"He won't be able to hold on to the Tesseract forever," Odin reassured, descending the shrine to place a hand on his son's shoulder. "However, you have to train and become more powerful, for you will have to face that mortal again. Your power is still fragmentary, son."

Thor's eyebrows joined into a straight line, yet he relaxed visibly at his father's words. "Yes, father." With that, Thor exited through the main entrance.

"How singular he is." Odin fixated his gaze on the ceiling, though he appeared to look beyond it. "That mortal."
