Intruding The Royal Ball

Year - 1800

"Are you certain that we should do this?"

The woman's voice was sewn with doubt as she cast a look at the castle just a few miles away from her sight.

Meanwhile the drooling woman standing beside her had her sinister eyes darted on the lights and the brightly lit castle.

"I'm quite positive, my love."

She waved her hand carelessly to the first woman who appeared to be a little taller and had concerned expressions in her hazel orbs.

"But what if somebody caught us intruding the ball at Belle Morte?"

She still sounded unsure about the proposal of her friend who had totally neglected the circumstances and consequences if they both got caught.

"Then nothing. All we have to face is a life long sentence in the dungeons or…"

The second lady resumed her speech by answering the first one as if the punishment of sneaking in the royal ball of Belle Morte was a no big deal.

"Or we will be beheaded. But I assure you Agnes, if we ever got caught I will choose the later one to avoid the pain."

The chatty one declared her choice and hinted to her the decision of attending the ball no matter what.

Agnes, the taller one widened her eyes in shock and slapped her friend's shoulder while they both stood outside the clothing shop because the dresses inside were unaffordable for both of them.

"You are saying as if that means nothing to you. Don't you value your life, Margaret?"

Agnes complained with a straight face as she levelled her friend with a scowl, although she might have known the answer already at the back of her head.

"Pah! Value of my life? Are our lives even worth living, Agnes?"

Margaret responded in a cold tone which suddenly shifted from the previous chatty one as if she were a completely different person now.

Agnes had already known the answer to her question which sounded more like a complaint. Both of the women cast a last look at the shining castle far away which was no less than a dream for commoners like them.

"You are right, Margaret."

Agnes averted her head with a confident gaze this time as she spoke with enthusiasm, which contrasted with the cold gushes of the wind which had been blowing ever since.

"Our lives are merely of any importance, I don't want to wash the dishes tonight again at the brothel."

Her red hair blew with the air as Agnes made up her mind to attempt that villainous venture which might cost her life for sure.

"Yes, yes, you are thinking in the right direction now Agnes. Let's do this."

She encouraged her before she could change her decision of going to the ball dressing up as royals or respected people at least.

"Yes."

Agnes cast an eerie look at the castle where she could see the huge windows lightened up with the golden lights and the black flags which had been fluttering due to the wind.

"But we do not have any reasonable attire to look presentable."

It was the moment when she realized how broke they both were and had been aiming to attend a mere ball which could be the only adventure they both had ever wished for.

"Yeah, you are right. We have to look noble at least to enter the ball."

Margaret thought carefully for a brief moment when her searching orbs landed on the basement shop near them.

"How about we buy some cheap dress from here on lower cost and then alter it to our choice and sizes?"

Of course, that was affordable for them and the skills in sewing and stitches might come in handy to both of the ladies.

"That's a brilliant idea Margaret, sometimes I wonder what else can you do with that ingenious brain?"

Agnes giggled softly although her remark was true considering how Margaret got popular among the brothel dancers in no time.

"To lure men. Maybe?"

She spoke in a hushed tone not to disclose their identities since they were not considered to belong to a respectable profession if anybody caught them.

"Haha, you sure are sly."

Agnes slipped her arm into Margaret's and laughed happily when they both decided to step inside the basement shop to buy some clothing.

Whereas the dark sky began to engulf everything as the noble vampires had conquered their kingdom and now had been ruling over the humans.

At the end of the marketplace where no one would stand alone in the dark a pair of red eyes had been watching over them with keen expression.

"Is this the woman his highness is looking for?"

The man draped in the black cloak spoke to himself as his sharp fangs became visible contrasted with his red eyes which had a thirsty expression in them.

"She looks like the one in this picture but,"

The man fished out a picture from his pocket and glanced carefully only to see the picture of princess Agnes (from year 1608) who had been reborn.

"But she does not smell like a vampire at all. No aura, no charm and definitely beauty should be excluded from her profile."

The mysterious man passed the remarks on the lady who had been unaware of anyone's presence around her which could seem suspicious at all.

"Well, let's see what happens. But I certainly do not like her as our queen, she is...too plain."

The man pursed his lips in distaste while he headed back in the shadowy alley and his silhouette scattered like smoke in the thin air.

The cruel time wheel had spun already and the notoriously known princess famous for killing her own mate was reborn as a commoner. But the worst fate was foretold because the prince had already been waiting for her to approach him.

Hereby I ask you, would it be a revenge or a love affair? As the story will unfold you will realize it was not as easy as it seems to escape or to melt a vengeful lover.
