Going To Belle Morte

"Behave well, love. And serve with your heart and soul."

The madame instructed Agnes on the doorsteps of the brothel, while the viewers outside were dumbstruck seeing the king taking a woman to his castle.

No doubt it was a highly unusual thing that the noble lord arrived himself for just a lowly woman working in a brothel.

Cyrus refused any clothes or any other stuff she wanted to carry instead just a few useful things were permitted to her. Whereas Agnes had no idea what was happening, Margaret refused to meet her and excused herself saying that she had gotten injured with King's attack.

Agnes nodded obediently and boarded the carriage while Curtis strode behind on foot, the luxurious carriage had curtains all around the inner walls and just one big seat.

Cyrus plopped inside comfortably while hearing his calm breathing made Agnes stiffened with horror and every possible imagination she could think off.

"Are you scared? You still don't believe my words that dying in my hands isn't your fate?"

Agnes had been stealing a fdw glances from him and cautiously sat on a distance.

Cyrus could sense her irregular heartbeat and opened his red eyes which threw a crimson glare at her. Agnes immediately shifted her head with embarrassment when Cyrus placed the question towards her.

"N- no, your highness."

She replied sounding nervous but troed endlessly to make her voice appear confident.

"How can I not trust the word said by his highness?"

Her words drew a smile on his face while Cyrus shifted his position.

To test the truthful answer he grew closer o her while Agnes immediately ebbed haphazardly but regretted her decision.

Cyrus laughed softly exposing his fangs while his red eyes made a great contrast with the jade skin.

"You have to learn a lot."

He settled himself back with a soft giggle while Agnes were terrified now.

"Keep a few things in mind during your stay in Belle Morte,"

Cyrus placed his one leg above the other while tucked his back and his tone turned serious.

You are not obliged to answer to anyone except me. If somebody says anything to you, be confident in yourself to throw the insult back."

His words made Agnes think deeply that blood pets were having the privilege of a luxurious life, but their lives were not earned without costing anything.

"Does that mean….?"

She leaned in slightly and wanted to confirm that whatever she heard was true or not. Cyrus smiled softly at her curiosity and disbelieving expression.

"Yes, it means as my blood pet I grant you full permission to talk back for your rights."

Agnes nodded in agreement and was left speechless that she was given the biggest perk despite being a blood pet: to speak as she wished!

"You are supposed to report everything to me without molding, twisting or hiding anything from me."

This time Cyrus stared at her making Agnes gulp down her fears and to fade thoughts.

"Y- yes, your highness."

She lowered her head and complied to the command while thinking that possibly what had caught his attention to be lenient towards her.

"Good. Lastly if anybody lurks around you thirsty for your blood, turn your head towards the left."

Agnes nodded although she didn't understand what he meant by that, only if she could see the red dragon mark on her left temple.

They both reached the castle and a jury of people was out to receive them, Cyrus Saikaro crept out of the silent carriage. Agnes inhaled deeply and followed his lead by walking behind him.

Curtis and an old lady appeared as soon as Cyrus stepped into the castle, the same magnificently hall appeared into her sight from last night.

"Show the lady her room, please."

Cyrus spoke in a soft voice but with a strong demeanour which didn't sound insulting at all. The old lady nodded with a bow and gestured to Agnes and they both headed towards the particular direction.

A storm of gossip had been stirred in the castle that the noble Lord had marked an unknown woman. Agnes walked behind the lady with a curious yet stupefied gaze, whereas the staff of Belle Morte stared at her with disbelief.

'Why are they seeing me like I'm a monster?'

Agnes had no idea but she could sense burning gazes fixated on her when she reached her room.

Only if she had known that the vampire staff members were able to sense that her natural scent had been masked by the noble lord. Yes, Cyrus deliberately bit her on the thigh to hide her scent from others and thus, Agnes was smelling like him!
