1 Prologue
There was this beautiful lady in front of me. She had glowing white hair, grey eyes, and she looked like she was in her 20s.
"It seems you are a lost soul."
Her voice sounded like an angel. Well, I don't know how they sound, but let's just say that.
Also, what did this lady just say? Lost soul?
"Lady? I'm not just any ordinary lady. I'm the goddess of light and reincarnation, Otix."
Uhh, ok? May I ask where I am? Wait, why am I not talking? Why can't I hear my voice?
I looked down, and I saw my legs, which appeared to be transparent.
What the?
"As I said, you are a lost soul."
Lost soul? Wait a minute, where am I? Why is it so dark?
"This is the afterlife. You are dead."

Well, that was a bit straightforward, don't you think?

The goddess started squirming around. This lady watches too much drama and romance. Is there a TV around here?
Then I noticed a large flat-screen TV behind the goddess and tons of romance DVD piles.

"Yes indeed. I hope you have a glorious life this time."
Hmm, not really what I wanted. I was expecting me to get reincarnated to defeat some demon king or something. Like the ones in novels.
"Defeat a demon king? Well, I could do that, but why though?"
Because it is interesting and fun to do, though I might die in the process, but who the f*ck cares!
The goddess gave me a bewildered look.
"Uhh... alright. But that's not going to be easy."
The goddess then snapped her fingers, and behind me, I heard what sounded like a portal opening. I turned around and well, it's a portal. For some reason it had this shape that looked like wings.
Ahh, so I just go through this?
"Yep. Your new life awaits."
Alright!
I headed for the portal and jumped into it without hesitation. When I entered, the surrounding lights twinkled like the night sky.
This is going to be fun. Beating the demon king will be epic.
"Ho, that sounds like an interesting resolution."
A distorted voice spoke. I started looking left and right.
Who just said that?
"Me, the demon king that you want to defeat."
And who the f*ck is me?
"M-me... oh your asking for my name?"
Yes!
"U-... Ahem, my name is Diablo."
Ahh, classic demon king name.
"W-what?"
Shut up and say whatever you want to say because eventually, I'm gonna kick your *ss!
"I don't like your attitude."
His voice suddenly became stern. I gulped the non-existent spit in my throat.
"You think that you, a measly little human, can defeat me?"
You underestimate humans. You b*tch!
"Tch, you... as your punishment, I'm going to make you a demon!"
What?! Don't you dare do that! You wouldn't, you won't, you will not...
"As a matter of fact, I can!"
Then the sparkling lights around me faded away, and it was replaced with skulls and a dark smoke came out of their mouth. That dark light then wrapped around me and entered me.
What the f*ck?!
"Good luck, now let's see if you can live a peaceful life now? Oh wait, you probably can't since you're going to be a demon."
What?
"Your name, you won't be given a human name so I'll give you one. Hmm, you seemed to like the old background, like a night sky. Ahh, I know what to give you, how about Noctem?"
What, no! I want to live a prince!
"Too bad, you are a demon now. Have fun."
And then everything went black.
In other words, I couldn't see SH*T!

What the hell is in my mouth? It feels like... like... dirt?
"Pleh!"
What kind of sick joke is this?!
I tried moving around, but I was restricted by what felt like dirt.
Am I inside the ground?! It's so dark!
I started crawling for the surface, digging away the dirt in my way. Wait, why does my body feel so weird?
No, he didn't...
Then one of my hands popped out of the surface.
Drip-drip-drip!
What is that sound? It sounds like water dripping.
Then I finally got out of the ground.
I was inside a cave. I don't know what cave, but it's a cave.
"Whew, now I can finally breathe. Wait, my voice."
My voice sounded a little deep and distorted.
"No..."
I took a look at my hands.

My god, I have scales. My two hands, they're reptilian-esque. They... they look like reptilian human hands. The forearm is almost completely covered in red and black scale-like skin. There is this glowing blue streak running across my hands, no, my body! My legs... well, they still look like a human's leg if you ignore the scales and glowing streaks, and the claws. Actually, I think I still retained a human's physique.
I then touched my face.
"Oh no, it doesn't feel human. Where is the water, I heard water a few seconds ago, maybe there is a little pool?"
I started searching around until I spotted the little pool, which was below some glowing stalagmites. I quickly ran up to it and looked at my reflection.
"I-is that... me?"
My face in the reflection, my skin was replaced with black and gray scales and while I maintained a human's figure, in other words, my mouth, nose, eyes, ears, and for some reason, hair, I looked totally different. My eyes were demon-like, the sclera was black, demonic yellow pupils and sharp irises. My hair was all white, and it grew past my shoulders. The other features were all normal, so I did look a bit human-like.
Man, you could even say I look a bit handsome. A handsome young devil... that sounds great.
Wait, a minute... what am I saying?!
I wanted to be a rich noble who would marry a princess. What bullsh*t is this? I'm not human, I'm a demon! Why did I have to be a demon?!
Wait, the only thing that devil did was make me a demon. So that means that I'm in the world I was destined to be in, but I'm just a different being.
Damn it, is this the fate I was destined to live?!
"NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Rumble~
A rumbling sound came from my belly.
"Damn, who knew a demon could get hungry. I'm starving. But what can I eat in this stupid cave?"
I scanned my surroundings until I came upon some rats.
"Oh no, I'm definitely not eating that..."
However, my stomach says otherwise. And this thing in front of me.
[Quest: Kill the rat]
"Tch, dammit, I'll have to discard my human instincts for now."
I slowly approached the rat as it was scurrying around.
"C'mon little thing, just come to me, I'm starving you know."
Hmm, what can I kill this rat with though? I looked at my fingers and stared at my sharp nails. Of course, how dumb can I be?
I slowly approached the rat and eventually closed the distance. Then when the rat turned around, I dove my hand strait at the rat.
"HA!"
Crash!
When the dust started to clear away, I hope I actually got the rat. And to my surprise, I did.
Rats, these little pests are always so annoying. I'm actually glad that I caught it.

Looks like the goddess gave me a system. Hmm, I wonder what I can do as a demon? Anyway, let's open my system.

I turned around to see a looming figure. As I slowly backed up, the figure was a large bear. And it looked hungry.
