3 special test

There were twelve of us in total gathered in the exact same spot excluding our uncles. This is pretty much too many for a whole family to have these many kids.

Everyone who gathered in front of our uncles and aunts with serious expressions was restless to hear what he was about to say. for them to gather in one place at once, it must be a serious matter.

No one could blame them if they feel it this way. we were never once gathered in one spot like this before excluding mealtime or dinnertime.

Now that everyone is present, Nel started to speak.

"As all of you know, we gathered you all at once without telling you what you are supposed to do beforehand."

While he is in the process of explaining, I noticed several unknown kids coming here to listen to his explanation. I assumed that these kids are from other families with a deep connection to our family based on their parents beside them and the crest that symbolizes their family.

None of them were part of the top ten families. which means that some of these kids are the son of the leader of mercenary guilds and merchants.

If I'd count the number of kids gathered in the same place now, there are a total of 23 currently present. Of course, the parents are excluded from this.

"I don't want to tell some unnecessary stuff so let's cut to the chase. The reason for us to gather you all in one place including the kids from other families is because of a special test."

"Special test?"

These two words resounded in the minds of many kids. I was among them.

Now that he said the word 'Test' I could roughly guess why kids from other families were included in this.

"Yes, that's right. We decided to host a Special test where all of you are divided into five groups. Each of these groups contains five-person. the most important thing in this Test is you're assigned to hunt monsters and survive inside the forest for five days straight."

I almost understand what he is trying to say, but what does he mean by five groups? There are only a total of 23 present here. Is he telling me that he forgot to count us before announcing this? not to mention why are we suddenly going to the forest to survive for five days. No matter what I think, I found this way too ridiculous for us kids to survive and hunt monsters. Moreover, we haven't even received the system, making this whole thing pointless.

Then one kid decided to ask a question.

This kid is none other than Harley.

"I can understand most of it but father, why are we suddenly going to the forest to hunt monsters and survive there when it's completely unnecessary for us. Also, why five people in each group? I found it strange after counting us all who are currently present here. Knowing the danger of surviving and hunting monsters, isn't it unfair for the three people in one group?"

The purpose of Harley's questions is to know the reason for this completely nonsense test.

The people nearby who heard those questions were amazed by his capability to think and analyze fast.

'as expected of the Arcadia family next generation. He was able to think this fast and analyze the task given to them in just a short amount of time'

These were the thoughts that reverberated inside the minds of people nearby.

Nel took a few more seconds before answering his questions. From the look on his face, there is an expression that indicates his satisfaction with his son's capabilities.

"You're right about that. The reason why this test was held right now is for us to know your abilities and weaknesses so that in the future, we, as your parents can help you become stronger than any other people in your generation. Did you get it? And as for the matter of groups, you will understand it in the future."

Well, that was a logical reason. If the family needs a strong individual to lead the next generation of the family, then this test is necessary for the future aspirants that want to become the next leader of the Arcadia family.

The family I was reincarnated into was the Arcadia family, one of the top ten greatest noble in the empire.

Now that everything is clear, it is not surprising if they held this kind of test suddenly without telling beforehand. The whole purposes of this test are to observe and enhance the kid's abilities to think fast in any situation to increase their survival rate while hunting.

Still, many things are needed to be explained.

To clarify these things, I tried to raise my hand, but before I could, the kid in front of me asked another question.

The one who raised his right hand was Lucas who was standing in front of me.

"What's the reward for this test? There certainly are right?"

I did not complain since the question was the same as mine making things easier for me.

Hearing that question, Nel started to ponder for a moment.

"Now that you said it, we haven't decided on the rewards yet. But, if one of these groups won the test, you will be given whatever you want as long as those things are approved by us."

After answering that, I tried to raise my hand again but, just like earlier, Lucas asked for another question again before I could.

"Then, what are the rules, and how does this test works?"

"There are only a few rules in this test. First is, If you give up then you are disqualified along with your teammates. The second is almost the same as the first but a bit different. If you were beaten by any monsters and were disqualified, your teammates won't be disqualified with you."

Meaning to say that if an individual gave up on this test on their own or because they simply couldn't handle it, he, along with his whole group will be disqualified even if only one of them gave up. And if you got disqualified because you got beaten up by the monsters, then your other teammates are safe from disqualification.

It was a simple rule. Anyone could understand it, but I don't know if john understands it.

He is my cousin and the leader of those kids who were playing earlier. His brain cells only increase when it comes to idiocy. That's why in terms of things like this, I don't think his degraded brain was enough to understand it.

Just looking at his expression Is enough to tell what he thinks about this test.

"Regardless of how you win this test, the group that has the highest number of monster kills will be rewarded with anything that you want."

"Don't worry about dying inside the forest since we will be watching you all from here. And if anything happens, we will immediately come there personally to rescue you"

That made the kids feel relaxed. There is no need to worry about If Nel himself is going to rescue them.

Albeit they're just kids, they still hold a piece of information about the man in front of them, and that is the power only a few people could obtain, The power of a man who entered Level 200.

After saying that, a hologram that shows our appearance and where we currently stood, appeared in an open field. There we can see what we do.

I looked above and saw several boxes made out of mana. That's probably the reason why we can see ourselves from the hologram. They look impressive, but To me, it looks like a drone with a camera to spy on us.

I understood why nobody was paying attention to the boxes levitating on top of us as everyone was paying attention to his explanation.

After sorting things out, Nel added. "Since I'm finished explaining this to all of you, I will now announce the groups you belonged to do your task"

One by one, we were being assigned to our groups.

Once we finished grouping, they gave us weapons and tools needed for our survival inside the forest as well as some other important stuff like a tent.

After that, we immediately head out to the forest separate from other groups to find a suitable place to stay before hunting.

"Hey. If we were eventually dispatched to the forest in the end, you should've just let me-"

"Shut up!"

In the end, His resentment towards me has still not moved on huh.

Ever since we went to the forest, no one tried to talk to each other, therefore, I decided to talk first to lighten up the mood but it backfired.

The group I was assigned to, was the group that consisted of only three people. It was quite unfortunate for me, no, for the three of us.

However, I was somewhat happy that I'm not with john's team.

My teammates are Lucas and Harley. It was an unexpected combination.

After all those questions coming from Harley earlier, I feel sad for him when the three of us were assigned to the same group.

He even complained earlier but got rejected instead.

Along the way, I noticed something that made me think for a second. Then I glanced at the knight who was escorting us.

"Hey, we're already 3 kilometers away from the mansion. According to my uncle's explanation earlier, you are only allowed to escort us till we're 3 kilometers away from the house. Aren't you supposed to go back now?"

My question made him pause for a moment, and that was enough for me to verify that something was wrong.

Before we left, they told us to stay 3 kilometers away from the house to ensure that we would be able to see monsters in the vicinity. If any of the groups cross that boundary, it means that they've given up on the Test.

He then glanced at his right hand. There was a device placed on it that indicates how much we had traveled until now.

This device is quite advanced for the medieval era.

"No, the device says we've only traveled for 2 kilometers."

"Eh, really, I guess it's true. Maybe I'm just exhausted for me to think that way." I said in a way that people see me like I was complaining.

Lucas and Harley noticed it too. They looked at us to confirm but since the knight himself said it, they began to lose interest.

We proceeded to walk further. While on it, I took a peek at his device once again for a second before looking back on my way.
