81 Sword With no Past. part 1. A Picnic by the Lake.

Konrad was currently supplying his Mana straight into the Sword Shard. He realized that leaving it here to idly absorb the metal ingots was a highly inefficient way to repair it.

As he had no real idea how to help in the process though, he dealt with it by simply supplying more Mana.

Thankfully, that was a very good idea, as the Sword Piece instantly picked up the pace of absorbing the ingots.

It was just a bit problematic when it soon ate away all the metal he had prepared, only to then learn that it was only a fourth of the amount he needed to supply as the description finally showed more information.

He needed to give it a hundred kilograms! A freaking hundred kilograms of magical metals!!! Do you know how much magic formations that would make?! It might not be enough to upgrade the big array but it's at least enough for half of the pillars!...

And what sword weights a hundred Kilograms?! True, Konrad should be able to wield it with his strength, but still!...

He once again looked at at the Status of the now much bigger fragment and sighed.

He still needed to supply more Adamantite and Mithrill with emphasis on Adamantite, and then also a number of Gemstones.

As he didn't have more metal on himself and Octavia was currently busy doing who knows what with Miastiti, he decided to focus on this Gemstone Mana Capacity. And he had just the things he needed!

He looked at the ten Prize Balls which shimmered in the light of the Magic lights illuminating the Workshop.

One by one, Konrad opened them revealing a number of precious stones spanning from Opals, Jades, Rubies to even Emeralds and Diamonds! The two Rare Gemstones turned out to be a Ruby and a Diamond with a larger size and a much greater purity.

While the common Gemstones were at most thumb sized, the rare Gemstones were already the size of pong ball! He could only imagine how big would the Legendary equivalent of gems in those Prize Orbs be. A fist sized diamond? That he would like to see!

And if you were wondering...Yes. They Are already cut. Each Gemstone as it turned out was cut in a different style, spanning from classic round cut, the emerald cut and radiant cut to even the heart cut! The heart cut incidentally belonged to the ping pong sized Ruby. Konrad almost wanted to keep it for himself, just because it was quiet the sight, but he abstained himself. He needed it to Repair the Blade....but he'll leave it for last...Maybe he could give it to Mia...

Konrad looked at the small pile of gemstones and for a second felt like a pirate and just wanted to laugh and flaunt his wealth but he stopped the silly urges and took a small Hade into his hand.

'Now how would you absorb them?' He thought before getting an idea of something he should try.

He pushed his Mana into the gemstone, filling it up to the brim until it started to glow in a beight lime colour.

As soon as he he placed it on the broken fragment, the gemstone got absorbed into the purplish metal surface.

Konrad smiled seeing that his Mana helped in the absorption, or at least he assumed it did as he didn't try using an empty gemstone yet.

He checked with observe and confirmed that the Mana Capacity slightly Increased. If he was lucky, the eight Common Gemstones should be enough to fill the one thousand Capacity bar.

Konrad continued adding more Gemstone before arriving at the point where the capacity was completely filled. He actually expected for it to take more than that, but a part of the eight gemstone, an opal, would not be absorbed no matter what he did. The Observe also confirmed that the Gemstone Mana Capacity now read 1000/1000. It seems like he would be able to do something nice for his girls with the two remaining precious stones.

Konrad was about to clean up and go looking for Octavia, when there was a knock on the doors of his workshop.

*Knock knock*

≈Konrad? Are you there?≈ The voice of Mia resounded from outside.

"Yeah, I'm here Mia! Give me a second! I'm almost finished for today." Konrad called back before quickly collecting his notes and doing a quick cleanup before leaving the room.

He was greeted with the sight of those two beautiful Emerald Eyes looking at him expectantly. Octavia was also sitting on her shoulder in her Hawk form.

"Hey there Mia. Octavia. What brings you here? I was just about to look for you two." He said giving the two girls a head pat each.

The girls giggled and Miastiti replied.

≈Hey K-Konrad.≈ Mia stuttered with a blush≈ We hoped that you would accompany us to the Lake. It's very sunny today and we thought that it would be fun to play in the water. Octavia is yet to really have fun with her new transformation.≈ She explained with a hopeful expression.

*Yes Daddy! Come with us! You were hiding in this basement since morning!" Added Octavia.

Konrad smirked and replied.

"You're one to tell. Neither of you left the Lab just the same as me. Talking about hypocrites, HaHa!" Konrad Joked.

*Hihi, That's true. But now we want to go out. Come Daddy!* Laughed Octavia.

Konrad smiled and let Mia drag him by his hand towards the teleport.

As they were setting up a picnic blanket on the beach by the lake, he remembered that he needed Octavia to produce more metal for the sword.

*You'll have it by tomorrow Daddy.* She said lightly and flew towards the water before changing into her dolphin form and diving right into the lake.

Konrad smiled seeing that display and admired her for a while as she continued doing stunt and tricks. Mia giggled to his side as she saw Octavia's antics.

Konrad saw her smile and couldn't stop looking at her, mesmerized with how beautiful and cute she was.

The last few weeks were rather leisure for Miastiti. She needed to acclimatize herself with her new living arrangements and come to terms with what happened to Egyptia.

It became a routine for them to meet here together for a picnic, where they would just enjoy some leisure time to relax. Konrad especially enjoyed that whenever they were in engaged in a long talk, Mia would find her way onto his lap. She would always place her head, so that she could look up at him and enjoy his hands caressing her hair while they talk.

It also soon became clear that her cat ears were very sensitive which she tried to hide, and honestly he couldn't understand why she was letting him touch them so easily.

As Konrad continued to look at Mia still mesmerized, she glanced back at him and felt warmth spreading inside her chest. She knew that he liked her, and she also liked him. But she also liked the pace that they were going with. No matter how attracted they were to each other, things like this needed time to develop and she really appreciated it that Konrad wasn't pushing her.

But she might have to do something by herself soon. Octavia Is getting better, and she wants to get his first kiss before the Slime is ready! She didn't mind sharing Konrad. After all, she was not here first and Octavia was her dear Friend, but she still wanted to feel special, and thankfully it doesn't seem like she was in danger of failing. If anything, she needed to make sure that Octavia got her own share as Konrad still looked at her more like a daughter, and no matter how she usually called him, Mia knew that Octavia stopped calling him Daddy in the meaning of Father a long time ago...

Konrad thought about the time they first brought Mia to the Palace. At that time, he checked her status in order to make sure that she wasn't dangerous, but he made sure to leave her privacy alone.

Later, after she opened up to Konrad about herself, it didn't feel important to check her status but he became curious. He remembered that her race wasn't human and she was pretty strong but just he only skimmed through her description looking for something ominous and didn't dwell on her past to respect her privacy. But now that she told him everything, he didn't feel like it was that bad anymore, so he decided to use Observe again and do a more thorough analysis.

Konrad had to admit that she was very strong for someone who never had access to the Blood Gacha, but white could you expect from a Demigoddess? And if you think about it, that Blessing of Bastet is just like the rewards you can get in the Lottery, so Maybe he should call himself... The Overblessed! He snorted at that thought and approached Miastiti who was back to observing Octavia's water stunts.

He sat behind her and placed his hand on her head before moving it towards the left ear.

Just as he started to scratch her, Mia started to purr i happiness and leaned back to him as if he was a backrest of a chair.

≈Mrrrr!!Konrad! How did you know that it itched?≈ She asked and sighed in contentment.

He grinned and replied.

"I had a hunch." He said an Mia looked at him funny without moving her head too much.

≈ A Hunch? ≈ She asked making Konrad have a sly grin.

"Well...maybe I had a little help from Observe. I checked it in curiosity and saw my favourite cat girl in need, so I just couldn't leave you in such a dire situation." He said cheekily, making Mia giggle.

They continued to chat and didn't even realize When their free hands joined together with their finger intertwined.

It was a vary enjoyable picnic...
