33 A trip abroad.
Sitting on a plane was interesting for the first 30 minutes. But the next two hours were really boring! The only escape from boredom he had, was Tavy.
The carrier he made in the week preceding the trip, was equiped with Invisibility and Aura Of Concealment. He had to expand his project, because there were a lot of cameras around the airport and on the plane. It was outwardly pretty simple with a comfy pillow inside and the basic design of a circular basket with a closed top. Of course the hardest part was engraving a magic formation onto it but having an access to a time-dilation subspace can really come in handy on a short notice.
As he was given the opportunity of a trip abroad, Konrad of course decided to use it to his advantage. As he was building the carrier for Tavy, Konrad also used his remaining buckets of concrete to create two magic formations with a special purpose.
The first one was actually a copy of the transport formation that he used to enter the Gacha space. The difference between the old one and the new one was actually pretty simple. The new one was poured onto a plastic sheet so that it wasn't connected to the ground. It was basically a big circle of concrete that Konrad could theoretically pick up. That was important, because as soon as the concrete solidified, Konrad completed the formation using his blood and stored it in his inventory.... Yep. He made a portable transfer formation! Now he could access the Gacha space from wherever he wanted!
Now for the second formation.
It was actually a pair of formations connected together to transport people between each other! All this building took away an additional weak of work inside the subspace but he was very pleased with the outcome. The initial test worked fine when he used a stray cat and then went by himself. Tavy was always a great stress reliever and liked to help him however it could.
Konrad equiped both of those formations with an Aura Of Concealment that worked on ambient Mana. It didn't have to be a strong repelling so the ambient Mana was strong enough to make normal people completely oblivious to its presence.
Now he could simply place one of them somewhere back home, and the other in greece making it a direct connection between the two places.
Those were his preparations and Konrad was pleased with himself. But he completely forgot about bringing some kind of entertainment for the 3 hour long flight....
Thankfully stroking and petting his, invisible to others familiar, gave him enough strength to survive the boredom. He was really glad that Tavy was there with him.

Greece was a very hot country and Konrad loved it here. The beaches were clean and water was hot, unlike in his home country. Konrad had a good laugh when Tavy started to roll around in sand when there were no one around, the sand clinging to the surface of it's body only to become absorbed and dissolved. Konrad was really amazed with how strong was its corrosiveness, to actually digest rocks!
When he was still back home, he planed to give Tavy some of his magical metal that he filled with magic beforehand, in order to try and awaken Tavy's bloodline, but he decided to first wait and observe. Tavy was still very young after all. It wouldn't be prudent to give it something only for Tavy to get sick.
The trip was supposed to last two weeks. Konrad quickly found a good place to hide his teleportation formation and enjoyed the rest of his vacation.
On the third day, Konrad decided to check the compass. Greece was not exactly the perfect place to check the location on the map but it was still west of the first line. If he made a second line from here, it should be enough to at least pinpoint the country...
With that thought, Konrad took out his Artifacts and opened the Map. Then his eyes fell on the Compass.
The needle was certainly pointing in a different direction than the first time. 'If he connected the lines then...' The Map worked by itself suddenly as another line appeared on the hologram. Then, it began to zoom closer and Konrad suddenly realized that his previous assumptions were incorrect. The Map Of Revealment knew exactly where he should go...

Two lines crossed each other somewhere in the middle of a huge desert in the western part of Egypt. He didn't know if anything was in that area but after checking with Google Earth he confirmed that it was an empty patch of sand around 600 km to the Southwest of Cairo. The closest human settlement was Abu Minqar some two hundred kilometers east. That information put a stop to his adventure and Konrad sighed in disappointment.
"Sigh... i guess I'm not yet able to reach that place..." He said out loud.
He didn't have time to say anything more though because as soon as the words left his mouth The Compass of random Journey started to glow and then a small clicking sound could be heard from the inside.
Konrad was surprised and as soon as the light subsided, He began examining the Compass.
At first he didn't see anything wrong but then he suddenly realized that there was a second, smaller needle that pointed in another direction to the bigger one.
"What?...Wait...is that a...side quest?" He muttered.
This day was getting more interesting with every second.

He needed to move only a few kilometers before once again using the Compass and the Map to pinpoint the second location showed by the Compass. it turned out to be much closer than he expected.
According to the map, Konrad needed to dive underwater around two hundred meters from the shore of the neighbouring town! Now here's the problem. He needed to dive underwater around two hundred meters from the shore...
He was already deep in thoughts about how to make a spell that could let him breath underwater when he felt gentle touch of Tavy on his hand. It seemed to be trying to tell him something.
As soon as Konrad understood what Tavy meant, he smacked himself on the forehead and took out his diving gear from the inventory. Everything was here. The only thing he needed was free time, and with his Mom And overreacting brother, that might be harder said than done. He really had to struggle before they let him go alone today...
*WIGGLE*
"I know I know. But we only have a weak before going back and i was hoping to finish it before that. I don't want to loose more research time..."
He felt Tavy's annoyance building slightly. He grinned.
"I'm joking jeez. haha! But still teleporting here causes more problems than it solves and i hoped to limit it if I could. Remember that i still live with other people."
Konrad replied and stroked his familiar.
He was looking forward to see what he would find under the surface...
