Chapter Two: “Reconciliation”

I wanted to take back all of those years I lost with my family, friends and Cristopher, I was heartbroken for all of those birthday's, Christmases, Thanksgivings and etc. I had miss.

As I woke up early, I prepared some coffee for everyone, I took a shower, got dressed and walked to Christopher's house. As I got there, I knocked on his door, he wasn't answering and I thought he must have forgotten, but his car was still there. I knocked several times and finally he opened the door, naked with only a towel on his hips, no shirt and he said, "I was taking a shower and lost track of time, come in". As I walked in his home, I was shocked by how big his house was, the last time I saw his house it was a little family home were he was going to have a family with his wife Ally, who passed away.

Over the years, I was tracking Cristopher's life, he was in Men's Health front page's, he was noticed as the most handsome millionaire in Boston. I was proud of him.

We sat down on his white sofa and he poured some orange juice, we started talking about our lives and how different it was now, he was the hottest millionaire in Boston, and I was one of the best novel authors in L.A. we had everything we dreamed of.

He made me some pancakes with mashed berries, I couldn't believe he remembered I was allergic to maple. He handed me the plate and we sat down on his thousands of dollars dining table, he didn't stop staring at me the entire time as I talked and talked, I still didn't want

to talk about why he was ignoring me for months. I was happy knowing he was happy too.

As time passed, we lost track of time and we ended talking till dinner time, we knew this was going to be a memory we would never forget.

It was time for me to leave and had dinner plans with my family, I invited him over but he said he had things to do at work, and he offered to take me back to my parents house in his car, I accepted his offer.

As he was driving me home, I couldn't stop staring at him, and I couldn't stop thinking about the time we had today. We got home and he asked me if I wanted to have dinner tomorrow night, and he wanted to show me something very special, I thought it was a great idea and I accepted, and I thought it was a good time to ask him about him ignoring me too. I gave him a kiss on the cheek, too close to his mouth, I got off his car and waved him goodbye, he smiled and left.

The next morning I woke up and saw the window on my bedroom frozen with snow outside on the grass, I had forgotten it snowed in Boston. I went outside with my brother and it was freezing, I guess I had already gotten used to the L.A. heat. My brother and I were able to talk about all the things I had lost over the time I wasn't able to be in Boston. I haven't seen him in a long time, he never visited me in L.A. I guess he was just busy building houses, he's an architect. We threw snow balls to each other like the old times when we were younger, his girlfriend interrupted us and called us in to have breakfast, and in that moment I had remembered the wonderful time I had with Chris yesterday, and I remembered I was going out for dinner with him tonight.

Night time arrived and I was getting dressed for dinner with Chris, my mother helped me get dressed, and to make time go by faster we

talked all about Chris and how I was falling in love with him. She was happy and she always knew I loved him.

It was 8 PM and I heard four honk outside my parents house, I knew it was Christopher, because when we were younger he always honked four time when he was going to pick me up and hang out with our other friends.

I went outside and I saw him, outside of his car and in front of the Front Passenger seat. I got to the car, he gave me a kiss on the cheek, he opened the door for me and I got in.

As we arrived he got out of his car and opened the door for me. We got to this fancy restaurant that had just opened a week ago, we got inside and we sat down on a private and romantic room. The food in the menu looked amazing. We started talking, Chris as always with his bad jokes.

-"how are you? How are you feeling?" I asked.

-"I'm great, I've been working a lot lately, that's why I wasn't returning any of your calls or texts, these few last months". He said.

I was surprised how I didn't have to ask him why he was ignoring me, but I don't think it was just work.

-"I thought you were ignoring me." I said.

-"oh no Lily, I wasn't ignoring you, never. I was busy that's all." He responded nervously.

I didn't know what to ask him next, we sat there silently until the food arrived shortly. While we were eating he asked me about how my job was going.

-"it's going great, my first novel had a lot of success." I said.

Then I knew, I knew I was right about something bothering him in these past months. My novel was based on my greatest love, Christopher, I wrote my novel carefully for no one to know it was about him, I wanted no problems in our friendship, incase he didn't feel the same.

-"I actually read your novel Lily, it was great, it had passion, love, mystery and excitement. But there was something else". He said.

As I was eating I stopped chewing for a second and continued to swallow fast.

-"what? Chris." I asked.

He smiled and said, "you where writing about me."

As I got nervous, I started laughing nonstop, I was nervous, he knew. I didn't know what to say to him. He looked at me with a charming smile. I started to feel "OK".

-"I wasn't writing about you... that's crazy!" I answered nervously as I tried to drink some more wine.
