1 Part 1

I wake up to the tweeting of birds and the whistle of the gentle wind. Today is going to be a beautiful day. I grab my phone and check the time. 9:24. Stumbling out of bed, I throw open my lilac curtains and get blinded by the biggest sun I've ever seen. The gleaming light is shining through my hanging crystals, reflecting millions of rainbows all over my room. I glance up at the sky and see pure, cloudless blue. The fresh grass below is dotted with red, yellow and white where poppies, daffodils and daisies grow in the sweltering heat.

"Arabella! Are you awake sweetheart?!"

I smile and close my curtains once again, hopefully to keep my room cool. I throw on my baggy orange t-shirt and some pink shorts and skip downstairs. When I reach the kitchen door, I stop dead. A boy around my age and a man are stood next to my mother. The boy has a sour face and is typing on his phone, paying absolutely no attention to what's going on around him. I roll my eyes at his attitude and stride in.

"Morning Mama! Who are our guests?"

My mother turns to me and smiles, waving a hand at the table, laid with breakfast treats.

"Bels! There you are! Take a seat sweetie and I'll tell you."

I take a seat at the glass table, reaching for a croissant. Grabbing the pot of Nutella, I walk over to the microwave and begin to melt the chocolate.

"Hello. I'm Arabella. And you are?"

I look pointedly at the boy who shrugs.

"Aiden."

I smile at Aiden and turn to look at the man.

"What about you Sir?"

He smiles warmly at me and place his mug of coffee on the kitchen counter.

"Hello Miss Gibbs. I'm Samuel Channing, Aiden's father."

"Pleased to meet you Mr Channing."

The microwave beeps extremely loudly and I turn towards it. Pulling out my warm spread, Mr Channing coughs and shakes his head at Aiden.

"Excuse my son's behaviour, he's very ignorant. Doesn't really pay attention to everything that goes on around him. Always on that blasted phone of his texting his prissy, snobby girlfriend."

Mr Channing laughs as his son punches him on the arm.

"I must say, my Arabella's quite the opposite. She pays attention to even the smallest details of a conversation. Also, believe it or not, she's been single her whole life!"

"Mum!"

I walk over to my mother on the way back to the table and tap her gently on the hand. She laughs at me and hands me a glass of blueberry smoothie. I take it off her, plant a kiss on her cheek and take my place back at the table. Whilst I munch away on my croissants, I study Aiden in more detail. His jet black, floppy hair is hanging over his forehead and his piercing green eyes scans his mobile screen.

"Aiden mate. Tell Arabella who your girlfriend is."

Aiden scowls at his Dad and slowly looks over at me. He studies me closely narrowing his eyes at places I very much want him to. Then, once he was satisfied with his studying, he dares talk a full sentence.

"My girlfriend is Lavinia Sullivan. Or at least, used to be."

I stare at him with a quizzical look on my face as he laughs. Woah. His laugh. It's... It's... Beautiful.

"Did you break up with her Aiden mate?"

"Mm. Listen Dad. Are we coming back tomorrow?"

" Here? "

"Nah Dad. Mercury. Yes here."

Aiden's Dad looks at Mum and she smiles.

"You're more than welcome to come tomorrow. I think Bels needs some... entertainment."

" Oh really? "

Aiden gives me 'the look' and laughs when I stick my tounge out at him.

"Don't worry Ms Gibbs. Arabella will be entertained. Just you wait and see."

Anddddddd... Here's the first chapter! Hope you like! Let me know what you think!

All my love ❤❤
