Prologue II

After separating with Hinano, Ayuma walked towards his house while wondering to himself, 'Hmm, what should I do tomorrow? Maybe play some Nintendo games or watch some movies, I guess? But the man I met with Hinano sure is creepy. Maybe he was a psychopath that loves kids and killing kids for his enjoyment! Or he is from a syndicate that kidnap kids! I heard in the news that some syndicates are kidnapping kids to have them work for them and if the kids don't comply with their demands they will beat them!'

Ayuma hurriedly looks around to see if someone is following him and his breath a sigh of relief seeing no people aside from his neighbours who are waving at him.

As he waves back to his neighbours he continued to wonder, 'Meh, our neighbourhood is safe as the police are nearby and besides I'm sure my neighbours will help me if they see me got to snatch up in front of them... right?'

"Hey kid, go home now! The rain and wind are getting stronger right now." shouted a grumpy middle-aged looking man that has messy hair, an unkempt face with a cigarette in his mouth, an umbrella in his right hand and wearing formal attire while his left hand is in his pocket. Probably getting a lighter to lit his cigarette.

"Ohhh, thank you, Uncle!" shouted Ayuma as he quickens his pace to go home.

"What Uncle!! I'm just 20 years old this year." shouted the man to Ayuma who can't hear what the man is saying as the rain and wind got stronger.

"Tsk! He can't hear me. Well, better go home now as I am wet as hell. What lovely weather this is!" said the man to himself while walking to a dilapidated apartment that got people to wonder, how the heck is this building still standing.

Ayuma who is now in front of his house entered it while complaining.

While Ayuma was complaining, a woman that looks like a 25-ish woman that has black hair, green eyes, tanned skin and a face that greatly resembles the face of Ayuma while wearing an apron on top of her t-shirt. She has a worried and shocked expression plastered on her face while saying, " You are very wet Ayuma! What happened to you! Take off your clothes and go to the bathtub. I prepared a hot bath for you. Do it quickly so that you will not get sick!"

Ayuma hurriedly takes off his clothes and pass them to the women while saying, "Ok mom, and I got wet because I quickly run over here for the storm are getting stronger."

"Is it?" said the woman who is now identified as Ayuma's mom while watching the door with a worried face and she turns around to see Ayuma watching her. The woman realizing Ayuma is still not going to the bathtub quickly said to him," Go to the bathtub now and be sure to scrub your body. Just call me if you want your back to be scrub."

Ayuma who is now naked walks to the bathroom said, "OK mom, and I don't need your help in scrubbing my back. I know how to do that and I'm old enough for that."

The woman who heard that has a smile on her face when she looks at the front door worriedly. After a few seconds of staring at the door, she quickly proceeds to the kitchen to finish her cooking that is halfway done.

Ayuma who is now in the bathroom grabs a towel and proceeds to wash with it. While he got some difficulty scrubbing his back he quickly overcomes it as he had his right hand over his right shoulder and his left hand in his left waist then he quickly scrubs his back. After scrubbing himself, he quickly goes to the bathtub while checking the temperature.

"Mom sure knows what she is doing." Said Ayuma as he dips himself into the bathtub and letting out a sigh of content.

After a while of playing bubbles in the bathtub, he goes out of the bathtub and washes thoroughly. After that, he dries his body and covers himself with the towel as he walks out from the bathroom to go to the second floor of his house where his room is located. As he walks up to the second floor, there are four doors and the nearest to the stairs is Ayuma's room. As he walks in, he was greeted by clothes littering in the ground, pillowcases that are almost falling off from the pillows, crumpy sheets from the bed, a blanket that is crumpled to a ball that is on the edge of the bed and crumbled paper littering near the full trash can. Ayuma walks in with great familiarity and goes to the cabinet to pick his clothes. He tosses the towel to his bed which made his towel and blanket fall to the ground.

Ayuma got dressed in no time and he walks in front of the mirror outside the cabinet. He murmurs to himself, "You're a handsome kid, I give you that."

As he sees himself in the mirror with 42 inches in height, light blue hair, dark grey eyes, wearing a shirt with a word on it 'Sup' and short pants.

He grabs the towel from the ground while picking up his blanket to put it back in the bed. After that, he leaves the room while picking up a stone-like Rubiks item with complicated symbols on the surface from his desk and he goes to the bathroom on the first floor to put the towel in the basket there.

As he walks towards the bathroom he looked at the item he was holding and thought depressingly, 'Hmmm, it's been three years since dad gave this to me as a gift for my birthday and he said to me that this is our family heirloom. A family heirloom of an ancient archaeologist from ancient times and dad said that there is something important here. It is now passed down to me but I still can't solve this Rubiks.'

Frustrated of not being able to solve the Rubiks, he realized that he is now in the bathroom and after a few seconds of bewilderment he snaps out of it then put the towel in the basket. After that, he walks towards the living room and trying to solve the puzzle that his dad gave him while encouraging himself, "Don't give up Ayuma, you can do this and I feel that you can solve this Rubiks today." What Ayuma didn't know that he will solve the Rubiks tonight and that will start his wonderful dream. Or is it?

Ayuma who is immersed in solving the puzzle and the woman who is setting the table for dinner did not know that a man arrived in front of their house.

*Jingle* *Jingle*

As the man opens the door, the woman hurriedly set the dishes she was holding and goes towards the hallway to see the man undressing his raincoat. The man has the same eyes and hair as Ayuma. He is wearing long sleeves shirt and jeans. He is carrying luggage in his left hand and a backpack in his back that is so tall that it almost reached Ayuma's neck.

The woman said to the man happily as he approached him, "Beijiro, you are back!"

Beijiro looks up and said to the woman happily, "Yes, I am back and I will stay for months this time, Alicia."

Alicia hearing this smiled and called Ayuma, "Ayuma, your dad is back."

"What is he doing right now?"

"Ohhh, solving that Rubiks you gave him three years ago again. Why is that Rubiks so hard to solve? Even I don't know how to solve it." said Alicia in confusion.

"Well, I said this to you many times already and it's a family heirloom," said Beijiro as a rumble was heard in his stomach.

"Ohh, looks like your hungry. Call Ayuma for me so that we can eat already and don't forget to wash your hands. Just put your luggage and backpack here we will get it later," said Alicia as she turns around to prepare the plates and glasses on the table.

"Alright," said Beijiro as he put down his luggage and backpack on the floor. After that, he goes straight towards the living room where Ayuma is located.

Ayuma who is still immersed in solving the puzzle doesn't realize that Beijiro is approaching him and Beijiro who is now at the back of Ayuma decided to startle him.

"Boh!" said Beijiro as he shakes the shoulder of Ayuma. Ayuma startled from the sudden shaking jumps up and turns around to see who startle him.

Ayuma who now see Beijiro smiled happily and rushed to him while saying, "Dad you're back. Will you stay longer this time?"

"Yes, im going to stay for months this time."

"Then you need to play with me."

"Alright, we're going to play all you want and do many fun things that you like. Now let's get your hands to wash in the sink as it's dinnertime already and your mother is already waiting for us," said Beijiro as he walks towards the kitchen.

"Ok, dad," said Ayuma as he finds that the Rubiks that he is trying to solve is now on the ground and it is now solved.

"Wow, so that what's it looks like when it is solved," said Ayuma in astonishment as he picks up the Rubiks and runs toward his father.

What Ayuma didn't know is that a transparent cube item was heading towards his body and disappeared.

"Dad!Dad! I solved it! I solved it!" Ayuma shouted in joy.

"Really!! Let me see it!" said Beijiro with a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Here, dad," said Ayuma as he passes the Rubiks to his dad.

Beijiro who now had sparkles in his eyes said, "So this is what the complete Rubiks looks like. It's very ordinary and these symbols it is identical to English."

After examining the Rubiks, Beijiro was disappointed for not having a clue in making these Rubiks unique to be a family heirloom that will be passed down to many generations.

"So, dad what does it say?" said Ayuma as he looked at the symbols in the Rubiks.

"Ohhh, it said 'Dreamscape' and it's the English language. Now why can't you read this? Did you slack off from the lessons that your teacher gave you?" said Beijiro as he suspiciously looks at Ayuma.

"Please, what can an English teacher in Japan teach me in English. They are horrible. Their grammar sucks and sometimes some words are not even spelt right. I have to do my best not to laugh at their grammars when they are reading an English book." said Ayuma angrily.

"Alright, alright," said Beijiro helplessly as he knows and experienced it.

Alicia who is now done setting the table saw that the father and son are standing in the hallway talking. She said to them," What are you two talking about? Did you wash your hands? If so, let us eat."

"Ohh, we're talking about how horrible my teacher in English is, mom," said Ayuma as he walks to the sink to wash his hands and sits at the chair to eat.

Alicia looks at Beijiro confused while Beijiro walks to the sink to wash his hand and sit at the chair to eat. Then Beijiro said, "Well, the Rubiks is solved-" before Beijiro can finish what he says he was interrupted by Alicia's gasp of excitement.

"Ahhhh! Did Ayuma solve it?" asked Alicia to Beijiro who said helplessly, "Yes."

"Ohhhh. My son is very smart to solve the Rubiks and because of that we will have ice cream for dessert," said Alicia while hugging Ayuma in delight.

Beijiro who saw this just smiled helplessly and said, "Well, you two let us have our dinner for I am starving."

Alicia who is still happy said, "Well, let us pray."

*Prayer Begin*

"Itadakimasu"

As they all enjoy their dinner to the fullest.

After eating, Ayuma helps his mother Alicia to clean the dishes while his father Beijiro unload the luggage and bag.

After unloading the luggage and bag he continues to examine the Rubiks. He thought to himself, 'Maybe it's the word that is the mystery. Hmmm, well it would be a mystery for those who can't travel overseas and maybe they thought that it's some mysterious symbols or words that would help them immensely. Well, it's already Ayuma's item and besides, it's not dangerous for nothing happened all these years for solving the Rubiks.'

"Dad, give me that Rubiks," Ayuma said as Beijiro raised his head to see Ayuma in pajamas with sleepy eyes.

Beijiro gave the Rubiks to Ayuma and then he carried Ayuma who is now sleeping to his room.

As he opened the door he was shocked upon seeing the messy room and murmurs to himself, "Why is this kid not cleaning his room?"

Beijiro carefully tiptoed to the bed and put down Ayuma. He tucks in the blanket of Ayuma and kisses his forehead, "Goodnight, Ayuma."

"Goodnight, Dad *yawn*," said Ayuma half-asleep.

Beijiro who heard that just smiled and goes out the door while switching off the light.

'This is the best day ever,' thought Ayuma.

What Ayuma didn't know is that some mechanical voice that can't be heard by him was talking.
