Chapter 22 – Betray.

"…. You want us to murder your guild members?" – asked Shri.

"Yea. My guild is named [Land Pirates]. Currently I'm one of the 4 people that leads the guide."

"Let me guess. The entire guild is a group of PK players?" – asked Shri.

"Well, not exactly. It's more like we take turns on who is PK player each day?"

"The guild operate like this."

There is currently 23 members in the guild.

I'm one of the 4 leaders of the guild, even though I'm not guild master or vice guild master. Each leader has team of 4 team members and we take turns hunting on the two hunting grounds.

The first hunting ground is the newbie hunting ground with people between level 20-24.

The second hunting ground is the hunting ground for the people between level 25-28.

Both of these areas are perfect for the PK since they are dense with the forest and are good for the sudden ambush kills so nobody would know what killed them.

(Oh, I was hunting in the areas with monsters between 29-34 so I didn't encounter any PK players. I leveled up a lot because of the dungeon so just skipped that hunting grounds.) – though ClownFrog.

The groups take turns while hunting, 2 are PK players and 2 are playing normally. We also bring somebody to work as the scout outside the hunting grounds and scout out poetical targets.

Thanks to this strategy we were able to level up fast by hoarding all the monster to ourselves.

"That explained some things. People said on the net that the different people were killing them here compare to the people descriptions. This kind of made bit confusing situation for people." – said ClownFrog.

("The guy that killed me had a green helmet, my foot! There was no guy like that among the PK players or I saw anybody like that on the hunting grounds!")

(Its quiet good strategy, but it would only for few days or weeks depending on how long it will take people to catch on about what is going on.)

"The strategy may seem good at first, but its quiet stupid as well. Do you know how many people are playing this game right now? People will realize the truth sooner or later and they will be wary of you, if not they will band together and try to get you." – said ClownFrog.

"Yea, I know what you mean, but honestly I like being PK player." – said GreyHunt.

"?"

"Wait, I though you wanted to redeem yourself for being PK player or something by killing your guild members" – asked Oron.

"Pffff. Fuck no! I'm like playing like asshole in this game. I will continue being PK player, even after betraying the guild. I enjoy being PK player and I probably won't stop being one. I don't care about redemption or anything, I just want to fuck them over!" – said GreyHunt.

"Oh… Wait, then why do you want to betray your guild?" – asked Oron.

"Simply put, I have enough of their bullshit." – said GreyHunt.

"Originally our guild were just bunch of assholes doing whatever we wanted. The plan was to level up as soon as possible and leave the city after getting the highest level possible we can get here and just run away before the stuff that you said would happened ClownFrog."

"However we were suddenly approached by somebody. To put blandly, they want to pay us to troll this place as long as possible, slowing the leveling up speed of the players while letting their group hunt without problem. There are about 7 of these people in that group."

"The guild hold a meeting yesterday and as it turns out, the majority agreed to the deal since they would get paid."

"On the surface I agreed to the deal but inside I was all against it."

"These retards did not became their co-workers, business partners. Pets. They straight up became their pets willingly because they want the money, even if it means getting fucked over big time in the end because of our strategy, it was not meant for a long run at all!"

"Honestly, I get it. Getting paid is good and all, I wouldn't mind doing something for money like PK player this or that player, but I'm kind of feed up with this guild"

"At first when the guild was first formed, I was somehow managing but these guys are straight up idiots. The only other person than was thinking in the guild beside me was guild leader however she got blinded by the money."

"I'm fuking done with them for many reason and I'm planning on leaving that guild before I end up going down with them and maybe going solo."

"However, I want to fuck these bastards big time before I leave. For both entertained and to blow off steam."

"So? How do you plan to fuck them over and what is it for us if we decide to help you?" – asked Shri.

"Hoho. You will like this very much! Let me explain." – said GreyHunt.

"Our guild recently discovered a boss monster that was clarified as the "Area Boss"."

"The boss monster is named The Corpse Of The Amid. It's a giant zombie monster wearing an armor and carrying a sword. First time we tried fighting it, we got all killed. That boss was quite powerful."

"Area boss, huh? It was all over the interested recently and still is today.

"I read about them online. It was about the monster called False Wolf Lord. It was level 38 monster and it was categorized as "Area Boss". The people that discovered the boss tried challenging it but ended up getting owned by him hard time. Then another group tried and another. Each group ended up being defeated by the boss monster."

"However, the story didn't ended. A small guild of 5 people made proposition to do a raid. Many people joined up with the guild, making the total number of 21 people and carried the raid against the boss monster."– said ClownFrog.

"Yeb. I read it too. They manage to defeat the bastard but it was quite hard for them. By the look of things, the guy was way stronger than any field boss. However, the reward they received were extremely good and because of how big attention the area boss gather as well the rewards the raid party got, the situation itself got a lot of attention from many people." – said Oron.

"We didn't know yet what area boss were so we tried out luck and as I said before, we got all killed, but this time we are preparing to take on the boss again. Last time it was only 2 of our groups fighting the boss and now the entire guild will fight it, making it total of 23 people participating in raid."

"Right now the guild members are focusing on leveling up, so it will take some time util they reach the level around 38."

"Let me guess. The plan is to kill your guild members and steal the boss monster?" – asked Shri.

"Exactly! However, we can't make my guild members my enemies yet. Picking the fight against 22 people isn't a smart idea. Well, until maybe I become strong enough to kill them. So, I want to make a little happy accident to happened."

"Okay, let's say we agree to your deal, however what do we get in return?" – asked Oron.

"Same as before when we did the ant dungeon. Loot distribution. If you don't trust me, make one of you party leader like before so he will get all the items." – said GreyHunt.

"…. What do you two think?" – asked Shri.

"It's very risky but it may be worth it. The items that blacksmith crafted for me from the materials we got from the dungeon were turned into rare weapon and rare armor, so the rewards from that kind of boss monster would be worth it, even though it may seem extremely risky." – said Oron.

(Hm…. I can say, he is definitely not planning on betraying us. If he were to betray us, we could tell his guild about his betray and he would end up dealing with his former "friends", seeking revenge on him. I guess he really just fuck his guild as much as possible before leaving them.)

"I'm fine with that as well. We will kill two birds with one stone. Fuck your shitty guild and kill the boss monster." – said ClownFrog.

"However, I have very important question, who are the guys that wanted to hire your guild to do their dirty work?"

"I don't know. They gave us their nicknames and we even let us know how they look like so we wouldn't attack them, but when I checked online, nothing came up. If you like I can give you the info about them if you like." – said GreyHunt.

"Nothing came up huh? But for crying out loud. The game wasn't release for that long so who the fuck would do that kind of bullshit." – said Shri.

"Well, we are right in game that is straight out of the novel and fantasies. Everything is possible in this world be it dumb or straight up weird. Unless we somehow get the people in question themselves to answer us, all we can do is just speculate." – said ClownFrog.

"Hm… Then we should watch out for them as well. They seem quite suspicious." – said Oron.

"Agree. The reason why they wanted to hire your guild is very likely they want to slow down the people growth here. The less people with the same level as you means you have more hunting grounds for yourself. There is a good chance they to use your guild so they can buy times for themselves to grow stronger and outrun other players leveling up speed." – said Shri.

"I'm thinking that is the case as well, but we can't be sure yet if they are not planning anything else as well. Maybe they just want something simpler like just don't have trouble farming or maybe the reason why they want to bother people has nothing to do with leveling up or hunting. So, we can't be sure what answer really is right now." – said GreyHunt.

"Anyway, how do you plan to deal with the boss monster? The people needed to band together and do raid on that wolf boss, but you want us to in with 4 people?" – asked ClownFrog.

"Yeb. Well, we won't just go in from the get go. Anyway, first thing first, what are your current levels?"

"30" – said Shri.

"30 as well." – said Oron.

"31" – said ClownFrog.

"Hm…. This won't do. Can you level up to level 40? Or maybe higher?"

"Well, we can? But how much time do we have?" – asked Shri.

"Em, don't know. The guild will prepare for the raid when enough members are high enough level, so I say between 2-4 days, including this day, so they may even announce it tomorrow?"

"…. You are fuking joking? – said everybody.

"Nope."

"…. Can we kill him?" – asked Shri and ClownFrog.

"Please don't." – said Oron.

"So, in short we have to level as much as possible because we don't know when it will happened huh?" – said ClownFrog.

"Well then, do you want to party up with us ClownFrog? We will be able to hunt monster much faster if we were working together." – said Oron,

"…. Hm…. Okay. What about you?" – said ClownFrog to GreyHunt.

"Nah. I can't. I have to help the lower level guild members to level up. If I were to go with you the guild members would get suspicious of me. I'm going for the level up hunting with the guild so leveling up shouldn't be much problem."

"Anyway, if anything get planned or anything comes up, I will tell you in advance."

"Okay, then I guess we will get going then." – said ClownFrog.

"Not yet!" – said Oron.

"?"

"It's fluffy time." – said Oron while holding a fluffy rabbit creature.

"…. Okay." – said ClownFrog, giving in to the fluffiness.

[One fluffy time later.]

Oron, Shri and ClownFrog were hunting together the kobold monsters.

[Level Up.]

"…. Wow. Man, you are slaughtering those kobolds." – said Oron to ClownFrog.

"Thanks. You are doing fine as well."

"But anyway. What in the freaking hell is this? With your small army you can take on groups of kobolds by yourself. This kind of feels like cheating." – said Shri.

"Yea. I was about to ask that as well. Isn't this bit unbalanced?" – asked Oron.

(Hm… Honestly, they already proven themselves trust worthy.)

(Should I tell them?)

(….)

(Let's tell them. Its honestly matter of time before people would find out about the necromancer poetical and downsides so hiding anything won't do anything good, while telling them may buy me some of their trust.) – though ClownFrog.

"Well, I still do have problem and quite big one when it comes to hunting."

"?"

"I can hunt many monsters at the same time, but to keep up this numbers of undeads I have make new ones nonstop and drink potions as well. Its good hunting method but I end up using a lot of money because of the potions."

"Oh, so it's not perfect then." – said Oron.

"Yea. Simply put, a trade off. Level up faster but you to earn less money since you spend a lot on potions." – said ClownFrog.

"I see. Wait, then I don't get something. Why people say necromancy sucks?" – asked Oron.

"Yea! I'm curious about this as well. What the hell is deal with you?" – asked Shri.

"Well, simply put you are exactly weak on the start and undeads are quite useless, the undeads were losing against level 1 monsters. Until I manage to freaking level up the necromancers skills a lot then they finally became useful. Because of how useless my skills were at the start, my leveling speed was quite bad I was lagging behind the other players and I'm talking here about the starting area where the monster are way weaker compare to the city monsters."

"So, the necromancers are complete trash at the start, but after leveling up the skills they became somewhat useful?" – said Oron.

"Pretty much. Until my skills leveled up, I needed to play sneaky or just play smart. Fighting fair almost all the time ended up with my undeads being killed and my max mana wasn't that big, so it would ended up slowing down my hunting even more. Necromancy may seem good to you, but it has some problems and I need to deal with them nonstop. For example, you need to spend lot of points into the extra stat you get called necro mastery." – explained ClownFrog.

"Huh. That interesting." – said Oron.

"Anyway, let's get back to the work. Since we still don't know when the GreyHunt guild will plan to take on the boss monster." – said Shri.

"Agree."

The party continue hunting the monsters and doing quest for the rest of the day.

Two days later.

[You have received messenge.]

[GreyHunt]

[The guild is ready to take on the boss monster.]
