Chapter 27

Walking through the corridor the corridor with hurried footsteps Goddess Artemis quickly arrived before a particular door.

With a determined look on her face she released a small breath before pushing her way through opening the wooden door bam.

Ignoring the loud noise created by the wooden door, Goddess Artemis focused her gaze on William who was deeply staring at a well drawn map with a compass in his left hand.

Walking upto him with large strides she slammed her hands on top of the map and said with a straight face.

"William I love you let's get married."

And the reply came just as quickly.

"No."

Without even moving his gaze towards her, focusing only on the map William replied to her.

For a moment Goddess Artemis's mind turned blank.

What the hell.

Wasn't that a bit too fast and decisive?

A terrible feeling is when you find out that the one you loved not only did not love you back but didn't even have even an ounce of affection for you from the start.

And William's straightforward reply seem to prove the weight of his feelings towards her.

'Perhaps he didn't hear me correctly?'

A delusional thought, how could a lvl 7 possibly miss hear her words from this close range?

But it seemed to make most sense to Goddess Artemis, or perhaps she wanted it to?

"I-I think you didn't hear me properly William, I-I said I liked you.....", Her powerful voice from before was loosing strength little by little.

Unfortunately the cruel reality seem to slap her right across the face.

What a simply two letter answer for her feelings.

Goddess Artemis shoulders dropped and her eyebrows contracted a little, looking at William who was still only staring at the map she seem to be understanding something.

'It seems the fool was me?'

Having come to the realisation, she suddenly felt clear headed.

"I see......."

With a sad smile on her face she turned around and started walking back the way she came from.

Just when she was about to leave.

"Right now."

A familiar voice stopped her in her track.

"There are things I have to do."

Turning her head she saw his clear eyes staring straight at her.

"When they are done, I will think about it."

"Though I personally think it is better for you to find someone else, Goddess Artemis."

As if having said all he wanted to say, William once again turned his face back towards the map.

Goddess Artemis felt her mouth became dry.

"...How long?"

She asked in a small voice.

But didn't hear his reply.

Which could only mean one thing.

Even he didn't know, how long it will take.

Terrible.

What a terrible way to play with other's feelings, William.

Turning around Goddess Artemis once again started walking out, just that this time her complexion looked much better than before.

'Is this what love feels like?', The virgin Goddess wondered as she left.

Inside the room.

Except for William there was one more person who was completely ignored by everyone.

Eldest Lackey.

"Boss....."

He couldn't help but ask.

"What the fck."

Those were the only three words he could muster to explain his inner thoughts.

"Atleast it didn't end like Haruhime", William said while pointing at the back corner of the room.

Lying there was an unconcious Haruhime with a rapier still tightly gripped in her hand.

Seeing her Eldest Lackey couldn't help but tremble and remember how just before Goddess Artemis, Haruhime arrived and said the same thing as Goddess Artemis.

The only difference was that Haruhime didn't take William's rejection as kindly as Goddess Artemis and directly pulled out her rapier saying 'If I can't have you then no one can!' and attacking straight for William's eye.

And what happened next was completely within expectations, with a wave of his hand William easily slapped her rapier away shocking the life out of Haruhime, using his other hand to deliver a ninja chop at her neck rendering her unconscious.

"It seems like I have been going easy on her all this time, Haruhime needs to be taught a lesson so that she will forget about attacking me ever again."

William said in a calm voice but Eldest Lackey couldn't help but tremble.

Having been with William the longest, Eldest Lackey has developed a werid ability to gauge William's emotions from his cold words.

It was weird.

Even he didn't understand how it worked but it did.

And that is why he could say for sure, Haruhime will soon be experiencing a world of pain.

May God have mercy on her.

Because William won't be having any.

Eldest Lackey quietly prayed in his mind.

"You too are included."

With the fastest speed possible Eldest Lackey ran towards the door.

And surprisingly.....he actually made it out?

For a moment he himself couldn't belive the reality that has presented itself before him making him slowly look back just to be extra sure.

And what he saw confused him.

As if the map on the table was more important than anything else, William was still pre occupied with it.

It made Eldest Lackey curious.

Just what was boss trying to find.

So he walked back to William and also started looking down at the map.

"Doesn't make sense."

He heard William's voice.

"It's pointing at the ocean, but there's nothing there."

"What are you talking about boss, there's also land on that side", Eldest Lackey couldn't help but point out.

"I came from that direction, if it was there on land then I would have sensed it."

Which could only mean that it was in the ocean.

But what could a dragon possibly be doing in the ocean?

"Maybe there is land we don't know of? like a island?"

"Possible."

William closed the map and closed the compass.

"We'll just have to figure out when we get there."

"Are we going on a trip or something?", Eldest Lackey asked while tilting his head.

"One Eyed Black Dragon."

His sudden words made were like thunder to Eldest Lackey's ears.

"We're going to subjugate the strongest of the three great calamities."

William's eyes shone with a strange light.

"But first......"

Turning his head William placed his hand on Eldest Lackey's shoulder.

"Let's start your special training."

"It seems both of them failed.", God Soma mutter d while looking at Goddess Artemis from a distance.

It wasn't a coincidence that both Goddess Artemis and Haruhine arrived at the same time to confess their love.

It was all planned by God Soma.

"Perhaps wishing for grandchildren is a little too much?"

God Soma shaked his head, he could only blame Artemis and Haruhine's uselessness.

Or maybe there's a problem with William.

"I didn't think he would refuse to take the medicine......"

God Soma looked at the green test tube in his hand.

A potion he made to turn off [Cold Blooded].

But William declined it.

And his reason was convincing......

'If I wanted to turn it off then I would have done it already.'

Seems that God Soma was living under some misconception.

It wasn't that William couldn't turn off his skill.

Instead he deliberately didn't do it.

So how could an S rank skill control him?
