10 Chapter-10(Forgotten memory)

[Note- this chapter might seem a bit confusing as the memories from the past will be mentioned]

*chatter*chatter*chatter*

*Door opens*

There was a brief moment of silence after I opened the door.

"May I come in sir?"

I asked while looking at my physics teacher who is currently writing questions on the board.

"Yes, and who might you be?"

.....*Awkward silence*

"Sir, I am XXXX a student of this class"

I replied while trying to stop my lips from twitching.

"Well, are you a new student?"

Yes, well not really but saying 'yes' should get me out of this situation.

"Ye---NO, sir he is not a new student"

I look at the one who replied and guess who it is it's Mr Fu*king class monitor. Oh look he is turning his face towards me.

*Smirk*

Oh, how I want to punch that face of yours. I'll remember this one Mr class monitor and I swear I am NOT going to show you any of my answers in exam ever AGAIN.

"Why are you late to the class then XXXXX"

"I was held back by the P.E teacher at the main entrance from entering"

"So you were standing with the late comers"

"Yes sir"

"Why were you late then?"

Here it comes. But my years of experience helps me come up with the perfect excuse.

"I was studying a little past midnight sir"

I know it sounds unbelievable and I myself don't believe it but just take a moment to think about it and you'll realise that the teacher will be unable to counter it after all he can't tell me to not study.

And if he does ask what I was studying then I can just tell him the chapter in which I am most confident about.

"So you were studying.....well go and take your seat then"

"Thank you, sir"

I walk up to my seat and take a look around the class only to find the class monitor looking at me.

*smirk*

I return the gesture and his face turns annoyed.

Suck on that BIT*H.

Just as my lips were curling up in a victory smile my physics teacher opened his mouth.

"I hope that it won't happen again XXXXX otherwise as I see it your dream of becoming an engineer will only remain as a dream just like these two parallel lines which can only stare at each other but

can never meet each other"

*chatter*chatter*chatter*

'I should have known....'

I turn my head and look at the class monitor who returns a brilliant smile towards me.

'Has anyone told you before that you have a very punchable face?'

*tap*tap

'Hhmm??'

I feel weird as I look at my friend Rahul tapping my cheek with his hand.

*tap*tap*tap*

"Dude can you stop"

*tap*tap*tap*tap

"Have you finally gone crazy after studying science?"

After I said this Rahul looked at me with the most serious expression that I have ever seen on his face.

"Hey..XXXXX....can you wake up?"

"What?"

I thought that he'd say something important so what's up with this bullshit.

"Please wake up"

"Look man I think that you need to see a doc--"

"I SAID WAKE UP"

*BAM*

Rahul punches my face while shouting.

*Crack*crack*

Huge cracks start forming all around my vision.

The scene around me changed to the fist day I got to the world of Danmachi.

The face of Miach, miss assistant, Dylan, Julia and many others passes through my eyes.

"W---"

An almost silent voice reaches me.

"Will---"

I listen to the sound as it gets bigger and bigger.

"WILLIAM!!!"

*BOOM*

A bomb just explodes in my mind as I hear that name.

"Huuuuuuuh"

I suck in a deep breadth as I open my eye.

"uhgk"

A heart clenching pain assaults me as soon as I wake up.

"So you finally decided to wake up huh Mr sleeping beauty"

I look towards the voice and see a bloodied dwarf standing beside me with his hand holding empty potion bottles.

"Dylan.....why?"

I immediately understand what happened after seeing Dylan's figure holding those potion bottles but I couldn't understand why he didn't use the potions on himself.

"Don't look at me like that these are just superficial wounds"

He starts showing me his biceps to prove that he is alright.

*Drip*drip*

Tears start coming out of my eyes as I stare at the stupid dwarf making weird poses.

"Hey hey you don't have to be so sentimental about this you know and you're a man so man up will ya"

"ugh.....*hic*...Where's leader"

"Ah don't worry about her she's luring away the ants away from here"

"A-All by herself?"

I start having a bad premonition after hearing his reply.

"She has potions with her and she's doing much better than us so you don't have to worry about her"

"But will she be oka--"

"You know that she won't take up a task that she believes she won't be able to complete also she said that it's her duty as the party leader and other stuff about being the big sister and all....Hell I don't know why she always forgets that I'm the oldest one here"

A smile emerges on my face as I imagine the scene of Dylan and leader bickering with each other about who is the older one.

"By the way what happened to Julia"

My smile freeze as I hear that name.

"She betrayed us...."

I say in a small voice.

"I see.... so that's why there was a monster lure near you when we saw you"

*Nod*

I merely nod and don't mention about Zanis.

"Hey don't feel down too much, She probably had her own reasons"

"SO SHE CAN JUST SEND US TO OUR DEATHS THEN??"

I shout out as all of my buried emotions starts pouring out.

"SHE'S JUST A SELFISH BI*CH--"

*Slap*

"Do you feel clearer now"

Dylan slaps me and brings me back to my senses.

*nod*

"Well then I won't ask you to forgive her or anything like that after all it's your decision whether you want to forgive her or not but I will say this..... Don't waste your life while pursuing stupid things like revenge they will just make you loose who you are and nothing else, I'm saying this from experience here okay"

*nod*

"Good now take this"

I catch the thing Dylan throws at me with my right hand.

"This..."

"I picked it up on the way here, though it's broken now...it's still better than nothing"

I look at my Iron sword which has broken down from the middle.

"Well then you should go now"

"Huh?"

"Hurry up and get going before those ants come"

"Yeah so we should go together--"

"I need to go and help out leader so you should hurry up to the surface and ask for help after all you know best about the layout of the dungeon between us"

" But I can also hel--"

"With injuries like yours it will be a miracle if you even manage to survive"

I know that, although Dylan used the healing potion most of my internal injuries are still there in fact I'm barely able to stand up.

"Go on now and hurry"

"Dylan...."

"Don't sweat the small stuff and hurry up to the surface and ask for help"

I look at the dwarf standing there proudly with his axe in his hand as I make up my mind.

"Promise me that you will wait for me"

"mhm now go"

I take one last look at Dylan and start running towards one of the caves

"He's finally gone..."

I mutter as I look at the receding figure of William.

*Clank*

The axe in my hand drops to the ground.

*Blurgh*

Blood starts coming out of my mouth as I look at the dungeon's ceiling.

"I'm sorry Will-boy"

*screech*screech*

I mutter to myself as I hear the approaching sound of ants.

"But it looks like I won't be able to keep my promise---"

*screech*screech*screech*screech*

My whispers get drowned by the sound of killer ants as I take my last breadth.
