Demon Sanctuary.

That was the other name that Itogami City had been given.

Beastmen, spirits, half-demons, artificial life-forms, and vampires were all on this island, and were all officially recognized and protected.

Their numbers had depleted to the verge of extinction by the effects of environmental devastation and battling the human race and on this island, their physical makeup and special powers were analyzed and used in science and development in several fields of industry.

Itogami City was an artificial city built precisely for this purpose. The majority of the island's residents were either those very demons, researchers, or those with special powers recognized by the city.

The demons that were the object of research were of course included as well. The demonic races cooperating with the management of the special district were in turn accorded residential rights, the same as human beings, and were permitted to study, work, and live their lives.

Itogami City was a model city of communal existence between demonic races and mankind.

"Or perhaps as some would call it, a giant caged laboratory" Kazuto Minamiya murmured to himself as he nibbled on the pocky in his mouth.

He was currently out and about exploring the Island and buying a few things(Food) here and there that caught his interest.

"Well-*munch* regardless it's not really my problem" Kazuto nonchalantly said, popping another pocky on his mouth.

He was the Infamous Nightmare that many people feared and hated. He had his fair share of escaping from highly secured places all over the world he was even able to get out of an artificial dimension made specifically to trap powerful supernatural beings in the past so who's to say this Island would be any different?

"Hey, you there, baby. What's wrong? Guy-hunting didn't work out?"

"Hm?" Kazuto looked over to where the voice came from as he adopted a surprised expression upon spotting someone familiar.

Two 20-year-old men were currently obstructing the path of a pretty young woman which Kazuto recognized as one of the heroines in the show.

"If you're bored, how 'bout you come to play with us? We just got paid, so we're loaded.'' Hearing this Kazuto had a bewildered expression on his face, his lips twitching continuously as he couldn't believe these two actually had the gall to hit on a middle schooler in broad daylight.

Kazuto-*sigh*

Kojou-"geez..."

"Damn geezers, aren't you ashamed of laying your hands on a middle schooler?/Little old to be laying a finger on a junior high schooler, aren't you, geezers?"

"Hm?"

"Eh?"

Kazuto turned his head to the side only to meet the gaze of the dark silver-blue-haired youth he saw last night.

..

.

"Yo...wassup..." Kazuto, not really knowing what to say, opted to just greet the young man in front of him.

"a-ah yeah, h-" just as Kojou was about to return the greeting the two young men's attention returned to the two men, and the girl after hearing one of the men yell in a rough voice as the other one held the girl with one of his hands.

"Bastards!" Kojou gritted his teeth quickly dashing towards them with impressive speed only for him to unwittingly stiffen as one of the men flipped the girl's skirt, and spit out a reckless remark that sounded like.

"Well, ain't you all high and mighty!"

A checkered pastel-colored underwear filled their vision. the young girl's beautiful eyebrows raised high as she sent a palm strike to the man holding her followed by Elbow Strike causing the man to let her go as the young woman quickly changed her target to the man who'd laid his hand on her skirt.

"<Young Thunder!>" She chanted as the body of the man was blown away with enough force to flip a truck.

"This brat's an Attack Mage?!" The other man had been in shock and finally shouted once he regained his senses.

Counter-Demon Attack Mage was a catch-all term for human beings who possessed various skills, such as sorcery and spiritual power, to oppose demonkind.

Be they employed by armies, police S.W.A.T. units, private security corporations, or yet other organizations, they belonged to many groups, and the skills they used came in numerous varieties, but whatever the case, there was no doubt they were the worst enemies of demonkind.

Of course, in the Demon Sanctuary of Itogami City, the activities of Attack Mages were as strictly regulated as those of demons.

At the very least, one didn't get attacked just for talking to a girl on the side of the road. But, the man was surely unnerved because it had happened so suddenly. His expression twisted by fear and anger, his true, demonic nature asserted itself.

Crimson eyes. and...fangs.

"Oh, it's a Vampire." Kazuto said the obvious as he wordlessly pulled out a bag of popcorn from his shadow.

It was such a natural response that it would make one raise his brows and wonder if this sort of stuff happens to him a lot.

Although Kazuto vaguely remembered the girl beating the vampire fairly easily he forgot how she actually did it.

Kazuto, after all these years, has forgotten a lot and I mean a lot about the plot of Strike the Blood only remembering some of the Characters, and even then it wasn't much as he only watched like 6 or so episodes of it before losing interest.

If he knew, he would be reincarnated in this world after he got a headshot from a fucking pencil that was going as fast as a speeding bullet, he would have made sure to watch it over and over again to remember all the plot points.

Her opponent was no ordinary demon. He was a vampire. Even if this was before sunset, vampires had physical powers far surpassing common sense and resisted magic as well. And they had incredible regenerative abilities. Moreover, they had one other, overwhelming trump card to play, suited to those called Lords of Demonkind.

"Shakti! Take her out!" the vampire man yelled out.

A moment later, something spewed forth from his left leg. It resembled fresh blood, but it wasn't blood at all. This was black fire, shimmering like yin and yang. From that black fire finally emerged the distorted shape of a horse.

"*Howdy Partner*"

Its high-pitched neigh made the air shudder, the flames that enveloped it scorched the asphalt on the ground.

The girl had an angry expression on her face probably because of how reckless the guy was for summoning a Beast Vassal in the middle of a city.

A Beast Vassal. Yes, the monster that the man had summoned was a familiar called a Beast Vassal.

The existence of Beast Vassals was the very reason Attack Mages feared vampires. There were numerous demon races that matched vampires in brute strength, agility, and innate special powers. but In spite of that, why were vampires alone feared as the Lords of Demonkind?

The answer was Beast Vassals. Beast Vassals came in a variety of forms and abilities. However, even the least powerful among them surpassed the combat strength of an attack helicopter or a state-of-the-art main battle tank. It was said that the Beast Vassals employed by the 'Elders were capable of blowing away entire villages.

The bracelet the man wore on his left hand, having detected offensive magic, emitted a noisy alarm. A siren blared, urging those at the shopping mall to evacuate.

"Snowdrift Wolf!" The girl called out as she drew out a silver spear that transformed into an even bigger spear!

"Hah! What do you expect to do with a puny spear like that? Shakti! get her!"

As the flaming Ghost horse and the Silver spear were about to meet. the outcome that the man expected to happen never came.

As the girl wordlessly thrust her spear in a flash. the ghost horse's giant body warped, ripped apart, and vanished without a trace.

"N…no way! Wiping out my Beast Vassal in one shot?!" The man was in disbelief as he was still staring at the place where his familiar previously stood.

"Oh~! It's the Mechanical Demon-Purging Assault Spear!'' Kazuto murmured, while nonchalantly eating his popcorn and watched as the girl poised her spear, and charged at the man's frozen, unmoving form.

And, just as the silver spear was about to impale the man's heart a person wearing a white Praka suddenly intervened. deflecting the spear in the nick of time with his bare hands.

The girl's eyes, brimming with cold rage, widened in surprise. It was Kojou who stood there.

"Hey, you! Grab your pal and get out of here" Kojou yelled in an agitated tone to the man, still rooted in place behind his back.

Kujou didn't want to get involved in a fight between a vampire and an Attack Mage, but he couldn't just stand back as a life was taken in front of him.

Surely the vampire didn't want to die by impaling just because he'd made an unsuccessful pass at a junior high schooler.

"And learn your lesson already. Don't pick up junior high schoolers. And don't use Beast Vassals irresponsibly, either!"

"Y…yeah… S-sorry… I owe you one!"

Seeing this Kazuto couldn't help but shake his head in disappointment.

Their actions from earlier already showed what type of scum those two were. If it was a normal girl that they had approached. There was no doubt that the poor girl would wake up the next morning in a hotel room butt-naked.

"well as expected of the protagonist I suppose" he shrugged knowing most protagonists are usually goodie-two-shoes and sometimes even let their enemies live despite all the atrocities they've done.

He watched indifferently as the 2 men left with one of them carrying the other.

"Hm~ quite the low quality but I guess it'll do." Kazuto murmured mysteriously as the part of his shadow underneath him suddenly moved unnaturally.

"tail them." Kazuto murmured as a part of his shadow split towards the 2 men silently.

As kojou was trying to explain how it was normal for him to stare at the young girl's pantsu, it was as if fate was playing a joke and a strong gust of wind suddenly came and flipped the girl's skirt once more.

"Ohh~! It's the legendary <lucky pervert> skill that every hen-*cough* Harem Protagonist has!"

*Snap*

Kazuto exclaimed in fascination as he wordlessly took a picture of Kojou staring up at the girl's striped panties.

"Why are you looking at them again?" The girl asked, keeping her spear poised with both hands. Her voice finally caused the completely frozen Kojou to regain his senses.

"Er, wait. You can't blame me for that just now. It's because you're standing in a place like that-"

"It's fine." The girl said that in a sobered voice, gazing down icily at the flustered Kojou. She released her posture, sheathed the extended blade, and returned the spear to the size of a guitar once more before dropping down to the ground without a sound.

"Ah, wait a-/Pervert" The girl interrupted what he was about to say as she glanced at Kojou, before running off. leaving that word behind.

Having been left alone, Kojou thrust his hands into his parka's pockets while exhaling.

"you alright there buddy?"

"Gah!?" Kujou almost leaped in fright after suddenly hearing someone talk beside him.

Kojou heard a chuckle, as he was surprised to see the person who came beside him undetected was the 'young woman' who greeted him earlier.

"Well that was interesting wasn't it?" Kazuto joked, glancing at the figure of the girl that was getting smaller and smaller.

"Well if you call being labeled as a pervert by a girl then yes, very interesting" Kojou frowned wondering how he didn't notice 'her' before his attention shifted to something else as he noticed something that had fallen onto the street.

It was a simple wallet, with a red border around a white background. It was split into two parts, one for bills and one for small change. The part for bills held several one-thousand-yen bills and one ten-thousand-yen bill.

It was a large enough amount of money that made Kojou jealous but not enough to make anyone's eyes dizzy.

As for Kazuto, he didn't even bat an eye on the chump change in front of him but was instead looking at the cardholder that had a single credit card and a student ID inserted into it.

The student ID had a photo of an awkwardly smiling girl's face, with a 'Yukina Himeragi' inscribed on it.

The boys were interrupted with their staring when they suddenly heard the sound of Sirens approaching.

"Well, you better get out of here before you get in trouble when the popo arrives," Kazuto said, patting kojou's shoulders.

"The what?" Kojou asked, but was surprised to see the 'young woman' no longer there, and on the road was a singular empty bag of popcorn.

Before he could wonder about what just happened he heard the sounds of the sirens getting closer and closer to his position.

"Sheesh, I guess I better go as well"
