[Sorry, it’s been DROPPED] The Raven (Kuroko no Basket FF)

I can’t find any good Kuroko no basket FF, so I figured I’d attempt my own. There was one I found, that I can’t remember the title of, but they haven’t posted a new chapter in months, so my FF is probably going to be similar to theirs because I want my MC to be able to compete against the GoM. As I’m busy with work and stuff however, I can’t promise that my upload schedule will be consistent at all. As well I can’t promise my writing will be any good. I’ve just hit a KnB itch lately and can’t find any that actually has the MC playing. So here’s my attempt.

First Day of School

With the ringing of the last bell I finally raise my head off my desk. You could say for the most part school is pretty boring, especially considering I'm mentally 17 so my overall age would be 29. However, it's not like I lived through my 20's and had those kind of experiences yet so I still feel 17 mentally.

That still means however that I don't have any kind of attraction to my current classmates. It just feels wrong even if I'm technically the same age as them at the moment. As for why I was sleeping in class? It's too easy, along with my knowledge from my past life, I basically have photographic memory because of my Raven Eyes.

"Yo Aida, you finally joined the land of the living!"

This boisterous and obnoxious voice comes from my classmate and fellow basketball first year, Ikehara Kichirou.

"Tsk, do you have to be so loud? I'm right here."

I groan as I gather my things into my bag and stand up to stretch out the laziness and stiffness from my sleep. I guess I stretched too far because I can feel a small breeze at my stomach and furious whisperings of my female classmates while I can definitely hear grumblings from the males.

"O-oh m-m-my gosh did you see his abs?!" One girl towards the front of the class whispered to her group.

I guess they are all in front of me since I decided to take up my "anime protagonist" seat in the back of the class by the window.

"Tsk! This guy has no shame. Why does someone as lazy as him get to look like that?!" Random male student.

"Ahhhhh. Alright Ikehara see you at the gym." I finish up my stretch.

"Heh, this guy. Not even gonna acknowledge what everyone is saying." I hear Ikehara mumble beside me.

"What was that Ikehara? Did you say something?"

"Oh no no. I'll see you at the gym." He says while rolling his eyes and dashing out of the classroom.

Ikehara is not too bad, we are both the same height standing at 5'7 which is fairly tall for our age. He has decent albeit a bit plain looks with straight black hair in a bowl cut style. He also has plain brown eyes, but his energy doesn't match his looks at all. He's always smiling and being loud and generally obnoxious, but he's my first friend in this school.

Not that I imagine it would be too hard to get some friends, but I'm a very low effort kind of person. That may sound surprising after hearing about me playing basketball and wanting to get better before I died, but it's the truth. If something doesn't truly capture my interest I don't see the point in putting any effort in it.

Even with things that interested me once I became too good at them I no longer felt the same drive to keep playing. Before I found basketball I had played Baseball, that was fun until I found out you could control the game by being a pitcher. After a while when teams saw me on the mound they just had despair and seemed dead in the eyes when they came to plate.

And when I was batting pitchers would intentionally walk me. Some would say "But you're winning! Isn't that all that matters?" While yes winning is fun, for the first few times, but you also want a challenge to have fun playing a sport you like. Anyways even before that I played American football.

Same thing happened, QB can control the game, weaker teammates aren't as good so I play in a way that makes sure we win. However it just ends up with teammates and opponents both giving up. I guess that's why I always related to Aomine when I watched Kuroko no Basket for the first time.

Basketball was the first time I wasn't the obvious best right away, or even overwhelmingly the best. My 2 friends were close enough in skill to not alienate me, and high school basketball in America is very competitive. So when I died and had a choice of going to any world of course I chose this one. So that I could show Aomine what I was able to feel when I played basketball because I see myself in him.

Coming out of my thoughts I focus back in on my surroundings, even while distracted with thoughts I was easily weaving my through the other students. Dodging the obvious fan girls and the envious guys as I made my way to the gym. I'm not particularly the kind that relishes in being adored or drooled over, but it could be worse.

Besides it's not like I'm gonna get mad at my late birth mother for my porcelain skin and smooth shiny black hair that reaches my shoulders, pulled into a queue at the back. My eyes are pitch black and have a bit of a coldness to them, but with my usual lazy demeanor they lose the bite that they have when I get serious. The school uniform was the typical Spring style, a white button up shirt and black dress pants. Still hot as all hell, but what can you do.

Riko made me mad one time and just the look from eyes scared her more than any angry look or loud shout could have ever done. Obviously I don't want to scare my older sister, so I adopted this aloof expression that seems like I'm always bored.

The sound of squeaking sneakers and balls hitting hardwood brought a slight smile to my face. This would be my first time in this life playing official regulation basketball in this life. Of course I did camps and played basketball at my dad's gym, but nothing official through a school or actual league.

However my smile fell as soon as I stepped through the door and saw my future teammates. Everything was wrong, one guy was dribbling with 2 hands, one had a ball rack and was air balling every shot from the free throw line. Dramatically I did a 180 and started to walk away but that damn Ikehara noticed me.

"Yo! Aida! Over here!" He shouts from across the gym, making every other member stops what they are doing and look at where Ikehara is shouting.

Slowly turning back I see every player slowly gaining tick marks on their faces. It's almost like their thinking so hard I can see word bubbles pop up above their heads.

"Who is this pretty boy bastard" came from the guy double dribbling

"Just because he has some good looks, this first year thinks he can look down on us." The air ball guy

I'm not quite sure how he knew I was looking down on them, but I can't say he's wrong. They're terrible, worse than my old high school terrible. At least they had a coach, this "team" acts like they're at recess just messing around.

"Hey there Ikehara." Resigned to my fate of playing here I raise my right hand in greeting.

"Where's the locker room so I can change?" I ask

"Locker room? What kind of fancy school do you think this is? Go to the boys bathroom over there and change first year." An older boy slightly taller than me points off to my left at a door just behind one of the main baskets. With air ball guy in between me and the door.

I give a small smile as I look back to him and say "Thank you...?"

"Kawahara Yoshiaki, Vice Captain and starting center." He finishes for me.

"Thank you Kawahara. I'm Aida Ryosei, please take care of me" I respond with the smallest bow, that was more of a head nod. Getting a head nod in return I make for the bathroom.

'Well this year is definitely going to be interesting.' I think to myself.

Author's Note

So I lied no actual basketball being played this chapter, but there definitely will be next chapter. (If you can call it basketball.) also sorry for any grammar mistakes, I'm not proofreading these chapters at all since I'm just doing this for fun.

Originally I wasn't going to touch too much on the school part, but I decided to add a little slice of life to the story since realistically Kuroko isn't all basketball all the time.

Also I didn't put honorifics and just called everyone by their family name, if people want me to use honorifics I'll try my best. I'm not fully knowledgeable on how they work so I would probably mess them up from time to time, but let me know. I don't mind using Senpai and Sensei even if I don't use the other honorifics because it's easier to show respect to senior members or coaches that way.

Lastly I hope Ryosei's personality is kind of coming out. He's lazy and aloof, but that's just because most things don't interest him. You'll see more of his personality and how it changes when plays basketball. He's for the most part a nice guy, but he's not gonna go out of his way to do things he doesn't want to do, and he's scary when he gets serious or angry.

Hope you enjoyed
