Chapter 18: The Heart-Stopping Horror

Lucas cautiously approached the woman in the red dress, his claws at the ready. As he got closer, he could see that her eyes were filled with fear, and she seemed to be beckoning him to follow her deeper underground. Lucas hesitated, unsure if he should trust her. Suddenly, she lunged at him with a sharp object, and Lucas quickly sprang into action.

Lucas quickly dodged the woman's attack, but as he did, his claws accidentally sliced through her long bangs, revealing her face. The sight was so horrible that Lucas could feel his heart stop. The woman's face was twisted into a grotesque snarl, her eyes were bloodshot, and her skin was peeling off. She let out a blood-curdling scream and lunged at Lucas, who stumbled back in terror.

He realized that the woman was not a woman at all, but a monster in disguise. He gathered his courage and fought back, dodging and weaving as the monster lunged at him. The monster was relentless, its attacks coming faster and harder with each passing moment. Lucas was getting tired, his movements becoming sluggish, but he refused to give up.

Just as the monster was about to strike, Lucas saw an opening and with one swift movement, he plunged his claws into its heart. The monster let out a final, guttural scream, before collapsing to the ground. Lucas stumbled back, panting and sweating, as he gazed upon the horror that lay before him.

The sight was so terrifying that it felt like it was seared into his mind, a lasting reminder of the horrors that lay hidden in the darkness. He knew that he would never forget this moment and that he would be forever haunted by the horrors that he had seen.

As Lucas defeated the mysterious woman, he felt a surge of energy flow through him. He quickly checked his stats and saw that he had earned a significant amount of experience points.
