Sword of Promised Victory

Soon a daunting old man walked inside, he had on dark purple robes and a long white beard I was about to question who he was when,

"Merlin."

Holy shit the legendary wizard, Merlin!

"Who is this boy?"

"My apprentice."

"I see."

"...."

"...."

What's with this weird atmosphere....

"I have come to tell you Arthur has pulled Caliburn not too long ago."

"I see...did they accept his right to rule?"

"No."

"I thought as much."

"They will be doing an attempt to redraw the sword but it won't change anything."

"Of course not, you enchanted it yourself."

"Yes, he is the rightful heir so it will only be able to be pulled from the stone by him. Thankfully he has the capability to wield the holy sword as well."

"Will there be a rebellion?"

"Most likely."

"I see..."

"Who are the dissenters?"

"There are many outspoken but the most reverent one is King Lot of Orkney and his followers. They have been conspiring to become King of the Britons for a while now and this simply threw a hatchet at their plans."

I zone it out because I really don't give a fuuuck.

"Merlin."

He looks up at her with a raised brow,

"Hmm..?"

"I want you to train my disciple in your newly developed system of magic."

He ponders for a bit and replies,

"What do I get out of it."

"My disciple is a generational genius and I assure you he will make the most out of your new system of magic."

He places his hand on his chin while looking over at me,

"He also has a Longinus class Sacred Gear."

He widens his eyes in surprise before addressing me, "Boy, I will teach you to become a mage, but you must do something for me as well."

I wonder what it could be then remember I might be able to change the probability in my favor,

"Very well, I accept."

"Alright from now on you are my disciple, ....."

"Arios."

"Alright Arios, we will set off tomorrow for your apprenticeship."

"Thank you, Master Merlin."

He nods to me before going into a discussion with the Lady of the Lake.

I seem to ponder over the matter from the outside when within, HOLY SHIT I'm learning human magic from the dude that MADE magic!!

Yes!

Later on Merlin stays with us for the night and I head off to bed, tomorrow I will leave this place I call home and set out with Merlin.

The next day arrives and I am approached by the Lady. She beckons me over to her room where she is discussing things with Merlin.

"Arios, I have had a nice time with you these past two years since we met upon that lake, in these two years I have come to view you as a little brother."

She gives me a bright smile while some tears linger in the ducts of her eyes.

"I would like to give you a parting gift for all this time you have had with me. As well as fulfilling the favor you owe me."

She pulls out a strange long object veiled in cloth from her spatial storage while handing it over to me,

"Promise me you won't die out there."

She says with a wide smile.

I have some tears in my eyes as I respond with a nod and "I promise."

Her smile widen as she unveils what's inside the cloth revealing what was inside.

Merlin's eyes widen to an astounding level before shakily saying to the Lady,

"A-are y-you sure you want to give it to this b-boy?"

"Yes! I have made my decision!"

She hands over the sword in its scabbard that exudes holy aura itself from within.

"O' Arios, take this sword, you may not be able to wield it yet, but take it. Take it and survive, lay waste to your enemies, protect those of which you love, and uphold the ideals of righteousness."

My breathe shakes as my heart is set ablaze.

She hands the sword over to me and says,

".....Take the Holy Sword of Promised Victory."

Merlin says with a shaky voice, "...Excalibur..."
